Friendly people Great idea No flavor It's hard to live up to the hype. I love fruit pies so much. I spent a weekend traveling through the central valley just to try the pies from the local fruit stands. The guy posts a ton of cool Instagram pics showing off his craftsmanship and it hooked me in. The reviews are all amazing of course. The pop up lines were long so this had to be amazing right? Wrong, My mouth was watering when I got my pies and could wait to dig in. I sat in the car super excited to try these Instagram pies only to be left disappointed. The crust wasn't buttery and flaky. The fruit filling wasn't bursting with deep flavors. It just tasted like watery boiled fruit. It's almost as if he forgot to add the lemon zest and sugar.... Not sure where he went wrong, but hope he correct those issues. A modern day pie craftsman - I think I recall his business card refers to Ricky, the owner as a Pie Smith - a clever and appropriate name! The blueberry hand pie I had was frickin' amazing!! I love the texture of the flaky, crispy exterior so much. The blueberries still had their shape inside and had a light delicate use of a bit of lemon to balance out the sweetness of the filling. I also tried their apple pie, which I was impressed with because the apple held its texture without being mushy and the filling was nice and tight, not watery or loose and saucy like most other places. The pumpkin pie hit a great balance of spices, which is sometimes easily overpowering for me. oh my gosh their strawberry mango pie is to DIE for. we brought one to a friend's for dinner and as soon as i took a bite i knew this stuff was special. the crust was so buttery and flakey and decadent. the fruit tasted fresh and it was the perfect balance with the crust. for about fifteen minutes i forgot that cakes or cookies existed. i was only disappointed that i didn't get to try more than just the one pie. the handpies are also bomb (esp the pineapple), but a very different treat than the pies themselves imo. sorry, nothing can top that crust. i will now be bringing this pie to everyone i know because it would be a tragedy if they never got to try it. read more

I fell for the Instagram social media hype. The family seems really nice, but this is about the food that we are paying them for and it was real basic. There was absolutely no flavor in the three pie jars we purchased. I was ready to be blown away but I was just sadly disappointed in another dud pie place. Nothing popped or stood out flavor wise, unfortunately the crust was soggy because it was in the jar and the fruit filling tasted like boiled fruit. A friend brought us some pie to share. We had it during the summer, and it was a peach and blackberry streusel pie. The fruit filling tasted fresh and was not too sweet, but it had a good streusel / crumb topping for a little more sweetness and texture. But i'm not even mad at that because clicking all those "bakers" led me to Pie Dreams. I've been able to try the ube as well as the strawberry matcha boba pie and they were both SO GOOD! Got one of the campfire pies for $42 for 4th of July and I was really excited to try it from the pictures since it looked so good. I wanted to like it, but it fell short for us. The peanut butter was good, but it was just off and didn't belong in the pie. He used a flaky crust, which I did like, but didn't go with the s'mores taste. Would've been better with a graham cracker crust. The graham cracker crumble was very subtle. Chocolate pudding was good, but the smoked Swiss meringue had too much of an overwhelming smoky taste to it that I didn't like. It was overpowering all the other flavors. That was the most off putting for me. I wish it had more of a marshmallow flavor to it or a toasted marshmallow instead of smoke, because s'mores aren't smoked. This isn't pulled pork. It missed the mark for me and we couldn't even finish it, we had to throw it away, sadly. I was expecting plain and simple s'mores goodness, not a bougie version of it. This is the first and only product we've tried so far, so maybe the other items are better, who knows. We shall see. Disappointing. :( read more

I was lucky to try Pie Dreams at the devout coffee pop up and got a pie slice a la mode with pumpkin and Hennessy pecan pie. Even though it was paired with ice-cream the flavors were amazing so I couldn't wait to get an entire pie. I waited up for the thanksgiving pumpkin pie release and was able to snag one before T-Day. His pick up was seemless, you text him outside and he leaves the pie on a table outside. I got the pumpkin pie with cold brew whip cream which was just about the most amazing thing ever. Pie Dreams is a one-man operation by a humble and motivated dude named Ricky who is very detail oriented and puts passion into pie-making which should just be called art at this point. He utilizes social media to advertise and sell his pies which are individual masterpieces, mind you. By following his account @pie.dreams on Instagram, you can see the hours of work he spends making sure his pies are done right and how he always thinks of the ones who are enjoying the pies while making them. Been meaning to leave a review since last Sunday I got pie on my mind again already! I Was in the mood for a treat but have been over all these new "gourmet" cookie places especially crumble. The girlfriend recommended we try this and I'm so mad I didn't sooner. It was so much better and destroyed any of the cookies I've had in last few months. At $7 for a slice of the key lime being only $2 more then a crumble cookie it's my new go to spot and no brainer. The flavors just hit, from pie to crust. Not sure if got lucky but it looked like a perfect slice too like something you'd see in commerical you could tell the love and care that goes into making it. Definitely not a janky Marie Calendar slice I used to get lol. I will say they were sold out of about half the menu but it was later in the day and that's the sign of a place neighbors (everyone) knows is amazing.
