Hoggie Italian
Patricia P.

The sandwich was delicious with fresh ingredients and the bread was perfect. I had the Hoggie. The service was excellent too.

Meatball sandwich
Monte L.

This was my first time here, and I was very impressed with the meatball sandwich. The meatball itself is soft, meaty, juicy, and full of flavor. The sauce is savory and meaty, and thick; I loved it. The bun was crunchy on the outside and very soft inside and covered with toasted sesame seeds. The service was friendly when I picked up the sandwich; it's a family run business and I believe the daughter rang me up. They appear to be genuinely nice. The place itself is small, cute, and cozy. It's a no frills interior. The fries are seasoned fries (previously frozen), and they're tasty, crunchy, and the seasoning is savory but not overpowering. You still taste the potato which I like. Overall, a great spot for a meatball sandwich.

Turkey and ham sub
Sandra C.

I was craving a turkey and ham sandwich and this place did not disappoint. Sub hit the spot , it was so good and best of all the man at the counter was so courteous and helpful and sweet . The woman that brought us our subs to the table was also so kind ! Definitely recommend .

three slices of bread!

roma market was closed early for new year's eve, so I popped into pietro's for a sandwich. the hot hoagie was great. smooshed down by the hot press, it was a nicely balanced sandwich. sometimes you want a mountain of meat with the bread acting ceremoniously as a wrap, but it's really nice to get a sandwich where the bread contributes equally. all that to say, the toasted sesame loaf made me v happy and it was interesting that they make it with three slices of bread. the sesame taste comes through so well that it reminded me of having sesame jianbing. as of this post, $9ish for a small (6 in) and $12 for a large (12 in). no clue why someone would get the small... I personally couldn't afford it. would come back and would recommend to someone if they were in the area and wanted a sandwich. plenty of parking.

Small pizza
Margarita B.

Fresh side salad, nice homemade dressings and good crispy crust on both of the pizzas we ordered. I also had the spaghetti and meatballs which was good but I would've liked more sauce. Nice family owned business & parking lot access for the area of Altadena/Pasadena CA area. Mid range pricing for portions.

If they had happy hour my friend would never leave lol

Fabulous sandwiches and pizza. Excellent customer service and made fresh! They must have new staff cause I came back off the burnt food a year later and yeah nothing but good reviews...

Pastrami Alla Pietros Hot Subs
MarVy S.

Pietro's is an Italian Restaurant that serves pizza, salad, pasta, and sandwiches. ::Food:: My favorite is their famous Hoagie cold sandwich! It has salami, mortadella, salami cotto, lettuce, mayonnaise, tomato, pepperoncini, and provolone cheese. I recently tried the hot Pastrami Alla Pietros which is served in a loaf of toasted bread with pastrami, mustard, and pickles. The bread is not always fresh, unfortunately. I got a sandwich that had an odd perfume taste and the bread was dry. We also ordered pizza but they forgot to add all the toppings. ::Customer Service:: Friendly staff ::Highlight:: The Hoagie! ::M's Notes:: -Parking lot and street parking -Indoor dining only

We arrived around 9:20 PM and waited about 15 minutes after getting the text that our table was ready, only to be seated at the bar again. I honestly wish I had requested not to sit there because every time lately the atmosphere at the bar has felt tense and uncomfortable. The chefs working behind the counter looked angry, annoyed, and completely miserable. There was constant pan throwing, side eyeing customers, and an overall hostile energy that made us feel unwelcome the entire time. We sat there with my two hungry teenage sons watching other dishes being made while ours never came out. At one point, after about 20-25 minutes with almost no customers left in the restaurant, one chef literally stopped cooking and disappeared into the back to clean while we were still waiting for our food. I finally had to ask the waitress if our order was even being prepared. Only then did the chef come back looking visibly irritated and start making the dishes. It honestly felt like they were angry we were there. When the food finally arrived, it was incredibly disappointing. We ordered four pasta dishes and every single one tasted bland and nothing like it used to. The rich flavor this place was known for is completely gone now. My kids didn't even complain because they were starving and this had been the restaurant they wanted to revisit. Before writing this review, I actually deleted the positive review I posted for this restaurant two years ago because unfortunately it no longer reflects the experience here today. The food quality has gone downhill, the atmosphere feels negative, and the staff in the kitchen seem unhappy and burnt out. We used to genuinely love this place, but after multiple bad experiences, we won't be coming back.

From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how beautiful the interior was. The dim lighting created such a cozy, intimate atmosphere -- perfect for a date night in LA. Everyone we interacted with, from the hostess to our server, was incredibly warm and welcoming. We were even seated immediately without a reservation, which honestly felt like a miracle in Los Angeles. The food and drinks were just as impressive as the ambiance. My mezcal cocktail was delicious, and the shrimp alla vodka pasta was outstanding. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and they were very generous with the shrimp. We also ordered the hamachi crudo, which was fresh and delicious. The key is definitely mixing it well with the green sauce before eating because that's where so much of the flavor comes through. To top it all off, our server surprised us with a complimentary lemon sorbet dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, we had an amazing experience and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more items on the menu.

However, I'm sure this restaurant will do fine, as it has been a part of Pasadena for so long. We had a reservation for 7:30pm, and we were seated in the back of the restaurant. I didn't even know they had a back room, as last time we sat in the front. All of the dishes tonight were shared, except for the drink. I had the White Lotus drink, which was very similar to an Aperol Spritz. We shared the Pork Meatballs. These were 5 out of 5. They were so tasty, dense, large and the sauce and spice were perfect. We then shared the Mushroom Gnocchi. This is exactly how it sounds; however, I felt it was definitely lacking flavor, and would give it a 4 out of 5. We then moved on to the main course, which was the Pork Chop with an Apricot Sauce and a herb salad with fruit. I would give this dish a 5 out of 5, excellent. We ended the meal with the Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble. This was kind of the disappointment of the meal. It wasn't bad; however, it was not a crumble; we didn't taste any strawberry or rhubarb. The ice cream on the top was the highlight of this dish. It would get a 2 out of 5. Our server was very nice; however, a little rushed at times, especially during the early part of our service when the restaurant was nearly to capacity. Overall, a good to great visit. I would still return again in the future.

The host and the owner greeted us and after a brief visit to the restroom we were seated at our table on the balcony/terrace. Alex, our waiter greeted us and swiftly brought back 2 glasses of prosecco and water. We comfortably eased into an order of fried smelts and a shared pear salad. Immediately we realized we had found a gem. The food is simple, pure and honest. We imagined a future visiting sitting with an order of these smelts and a few beers watching a proper Serie A Fútbol match. After an impulsive order of fresh pita bread(highly recommended) our main courses arrived. Grilled branzino and the Lamb shank. These dishes elevated to a simple perfection with the complex flavors of dried fruit, almonds and couscous accompanying a confidently prepared lamb. A robust California Cabernet provided the perfect compliment to this old world classic. The branzino was glazed and touched respectfully with lemon and grilled to a perfect gentle shimmer. This is the best fish we've had in years. Clearly a new favorite, we enjoyed a surprise piece of flourless chocolate cake with espresso and cappuccino. Special thanks to this delightful place and their wonderful staff. We look forward to sharing visits in the future with friends and family.

Very unique and good, I look forward to replicating at home with a little more balsamic. I ordered the Settebello $21 pizza as a main entree of which I thought was advertised with pancetta, mushrooms and Italian sausage. Pizza came out hot and fresh, but with prosciutto instead of the perceived menu listed pancetta. Pizza sauce was good, the sausage and mushrooms were great. Crust was a little doughy, not crispy but charcoal charred in places. Not phenomenal but not bad, middle of the road overall. Service started off great but fell flat to the floor. Drinks and food came out on time indicating bar staff and kitchen staff were on point. Waiting staff could up their game. No check up or check in. No offers for drink refills or another round.
