I've got mixed feelings on this place after years of absolutely loving it. First, this is my favorite pizza in Atlanta - I think it's THE best and is VERY good. Now the cons. As you can see from many other reviews, the manager and/or owner is there cooking daily and he is just plainly rude. They want you in and out in 10-15 mins. They don't want you to have 2 drinks. They don't want your kids looking at the open kitchen and super cool wood ovens. They will tow your car. Their staff will clear your table as soon as you clean your plate. They also have over 1/3 of the restaurant closed off for years. They want you to pay and get out. As you see from their new signs, there's a lot of reasons that they just don't want your business. Speaking of pay, the pizza is incredibly expensive. This is a local shop that employs local teens so I want to support. But $21 for a plain cheese pizza + $4 each for any topping is a lot. Yummmmm! We placed our order online after a link hike - so pizza was much deserved! They are offering take-out only right now. We pulled right up to the front and someone came out to our car and asked what name the order was under. She quickly pranced back inside and returned with our order in seconds. Unexpected curbside pickup was absolutely a welcomed surprise! We had the following: Large Pizza Napoletana Margherita Extra with Pepperoni & Mushrooms $26 Caesar Salad $8 Of course I had a road slice. It was perfection. Amazing crust with the perfect amount of "bite." We opted for the pizza with the Buffala mozzarella and boy was it worth it! SO luxurious. While I do prefer the small pepperoni that gets all curled in the oven, the one Pizzeria Lucca used was also delicious. I wish there were more mushrooms on the pizza, but that is normally the case with me! The caesar salad was tasty. The croutons were fresh and it was apparent. The dressing was nice and peppery which was awesome. I typically have to add so much fresh cracked pepper to my caesar salads and I didn't have to this time because the dressing had it covered! It was a great caesar salad. The value for your money here is top notch. I wish we lived closer so we could enjoy more often. It was a good thing I had my road slice because we live quite a bit away. By the time we made it home the rest of the pizza was cold - but it was so good we ate it anyway (and could not bear the thought of waiting while we put the pizza in our oven to re-heat). I have always liked their pizza but they have raised the prices so much how can you justify $50 for 2 pizza?. Also no need to go there for a birthday party. we tried them again and they made us take out the couple of gifts to the car. we would have left but it was best for us to eat. Doubt i will be back. I wasn't even a real fan of margherita pizza before this, and now am completely addicted to it lol. This is truly authentic, like you're in a small village in Italy, and the love for home shines through. Getting fresh tomatoes shipped in from the region makes such a big difference that even the simplest of ingredients shine. This is a thin crust pizza parlor that has a stone oven. So, right up. They have great pizza. We tried the margherita and a meat pizza that I can't recall the name of both were awesome! It's counter service and then you get your silverware, water, napkins, etc from a table around the corner. It's a family business and it's very casual. They have wooden benches for seating and the pizza comes out on thin metal pizza plates. The dining plates match the pizza board lol You have to get the meatballs. They are the best! They're worth a try, at the least. Plus the sauce is amazing. The meat pizza had some kind of sweet pepper that was very tasty and not spicy. They have a private lot and it wasn't busy so there was plenty of parking. The place is plenty noticeable from the street. If you have kids, do not go here!!. It is a casual restaurant. You order food from a cash register and then sit at a picnic table. We have a 2 year old Who wanted to go see the Christmas tree and while my husband walked him up to the tree, an employee said "kids can't be running around here". We have lived in this area for over 20 years and have never been spoken to this way. Honestly just very disappointed. The food was also not that great. Man, Antico's has serious competition. Pizzeria Luca is just as good as them without all the wild shit that comes with being downtown. Super light, fresh ingredients, fast service, great personality (shout out to Megan). I really enjoyed coming here, I think the checkout counter being by the food area makes for a great touch that adds to the customer service experience. A rollercoaster of a place. I met my future college roommate here for our first day out and the pizza was delicious, staff was generally friendly. Our only problem was the parking situation. They never specified on their signs that you needed to be IN the restaurant in order to make sure your car was not towed. We had eaten our food and paid at this restaurant and then left her car there for a few hours and thus it was towed. I went back into the shop to have a word with the manager and he was incredibly rude and condescending. On top of all of this, the signs need updating as it took us to the wrong location to pick up her car. read more

They went all out on this place with multiple wood fired brick ovens, tons of space and a great location. The margarita pizza was terrific. I tried a slice of my friend's pizza which was supposed to have figs on it, but I'm pretty sure they just smeared fig jelly on it and it was way too sweet for my taste. There are no fountain drinks and no LaCroix so I settled for a bottle of San Pelligrino. All in all this has to be one of the best pizza spots in the Atlanta area. I've ordered pick-up from this place a couple of times, so granted, I've never sat down and been waited on, but both times, I left disappointed with my experience with the employees. I'd driven by Lucca a bunch of times and wish I'd stopped in sooner! Their pizza is amazing. After now having tried four different kinds, I can say the simple is the best - Margherita. However, the namesake, the Lucca with sausage and onions is great as is the meatball with Peppadew peppers is glorious. If it is your first time, I'd get a large Marg and a small meatball to start. For white pies, get the fig pizza. I love how generous they are with their toppings here. There's was a decent amount on each pie - no skimping!  Save room or get the limoncello cake to go. DYK? They import this cake from Italy? I'm really not much of a sweets person but I had a slice when I was there last time AND got one to go for the next day!  Also, one of my favorite things about this spot is that although they are family friendly, they don't put up with kids running wild. I have been to so many restaurants where parents allow their kids to scream and behave poorly. So glad that they don't put up with poorly behaved toddlers that ruin everyone's dining experience.  Can't wait to go back and try some other varieties of pies, but my heart is with the Margherita pie read more
