Not bad! Was pleasantly surprised at the portions. This poke bar is located inside Ava's market so it's easy to miss. The bowl tastes as expected, refreshing and filling. It's essentially a Chipotle for Poke, and the portions are pretty generous. We ordered a Large bowl for 2 people, as it was the most affordable option with 4 scoops of fish. The fish here tastes pretty fresh, so you can't go wrong with any of the protein options. We chose to add 2 scoops of salmon, 1 scoop of seared albacore, and another scoop of spicy tuna (bomb!). We also threw in lots of veggies and topped the bowl with sesame seeds and garlic. I thought the House sauce tasted the best since it went well with all the ingredients. The hoisin sauce (the other popular option) was a little too sweet for my liking. I definitely feel healthy after eating a poke bowl, no matter how many ingredients they add (I love tricking myself). Pick your base, nachos, white/brown rice or salad and then they scoop your fish and sauces, then you choose your toppings. I opted for a medium salad, with tuna, salmon & shrimp with ponzu and house dressing. I like that it comes with some imitation crab and seaweed salad (I loveeeeee seaweed salad), and they have a variety of different toppings like edamame, roasted garlic, rice seasoning, pineapple, masago etc. The fish was really fresh and the sauces added great flavour to the fish. Sometimes I find that these "chipotle-style" places where they flavor the fish as your order can taste a little bland but that wasn't the case here. Service was quick and super friendly. Spent closer to 25 mins to find parking (probably had to do with Superbowl week and tourists). In any case, this bar located in a small market, and it wasn't busy at all at the time. Time to order. I was confused for a sec since they listed the size along with the # of scoops under "Base" (white/brown rice, salad, etc.), so I thought they were referring to scoops of the base itself. But nope it was referring 3 scoops/choices of protein. I got a medium, 1/2 brown, 1/2 white rice, spicy tuna, salmon, and albacore with sweet chili sauce and wasabi mayo, all condiments/toppings plus avocado for an extra buck. The workers here are all well-trained and the whole ordering process is super streamlined and efficient. I went with the regular bowl, which comes with 3 scoops of fish. You pick your base first (white rice, brown rice, salad, etc.), let them know if you want to include seaweed and imitation crab meat (both are included in the price), and then pick your fish and toppings. I love tuna, so I went with 2 scoops of regular tuna and one scoop of spicy tuna. The fish is super fresh!! And they give you a generous amount in each scoop. Compared to Go Fish, this place has a wider selection of toppings (corn, edamame, etc.). Portion sizes are great and totally worth the price that you pay. I'd probably give it a 3.5 if that were an option, butttttt it was still pretty good. I liked that they offer a variety of non-traditional toppings (corn, edamame, kale, seaweed salad) and the fact that they have expanded box sizes compared to other poke bars (small, medium, large). I ordered a small bowl (though we should really be calling it a box) with double tuna, 1/2 salad, 1/2 sushi rice with ponzu dressing, and a whole lotta toppings. Personally I found the box situation to be the best "layout" for poke because the rice sits next to the salad nicely vs. some of the other poke spots where the rice and salad fight each other for real estate and end up on top of one another and then each bite is just kind of weird to me. Some minuses for me personally: + Loose Crab - I def prefer crab salad + No one asked me if I wanted masago? Maybe it's extra or you have to request it, but I definitely think it's great on a poke and would have liked to be asked. + Avocado costs extra : ( + No non-mayo spicy sauces. The spicy tuna is kind of mashed together and scooped like mashed potato, but despite appearance, it tastes yummy. The sweet chili sauce is very flavorful and savory, something to keep in mind when you're asking for sauce. I think I would definitely come back to try a different sauce, I felt that I may have overestimated my tolerance for the sweetness. A chipotle style type of ordering but they definitely really fill the box up with all the fixings you want! I didn't care much for the presentation but more for being full since I've been disappointed with the offerings up near the peninsula on what they offer for poké. As I started eating it I was quite impressed on how much fish and things they've had on the ratio to rice. This is what I've been looking for on the ratio of fish to rice. It was nearly 1.5:1 on each bite I had. I finished all the rice and there was still fish leftover for me to eat which was great! I didn't have to ration it like the other places up in the peninsula. This is similar to all the other poke places in the area although the poke here is definitely a little less traditional. Poke Bar is located inside of a grocery store, which stays open even after Poke Bar closes. There's not much place for seating since it's just a couple of tables cafeteria style inside the store. You pick a bowl, either small (2 scoops of fish) or large (3 scoops of fish) with white or brown rice. Then they have a variety of fish options, from spicy tuna to octopus. They portions here are decent and the fish tastes very fresh! You select all the toppings before they add in the flavoring to mix the fish and the toppings with. They have a good amount of different toppings from edamame to corn and onions. They have the typical Japanese flavors available like ponzu but also some more fusion and a house flavor. Then, your bowl is topped with wasabi, fried onions/garlic, ginger, nuts, sesame or seaweed if you'd like. The bowls here don't look as nice as the other places but they taste just as great! It's definitely more fusion and random than the flavors at other places. I wasn't used to all the different vegetables I was able to get in mine. This is one of the better poke places in the South Bay. You first pick the base and I usually get either white or brown rice. I tried nachos once but didn't like the texture very much. That was probably just me. Next you choose the amount of protein. I usually go for the small so I can get lots of mix-ins. I like tuna and salmon. I tried spicy salmon once and that was also good. They have a good selection of mix-ins and I usuallly get a lot of them as I can never decide. lol. They also have good sauces to round out the flavors. The workers here are always fast and efficient. I've been here a few times during lunch and they are quick. It's my go-to place for poke whenever I'm on Castro. I've also been here for dinner and the food is still consistent. One time we came here just before closing. I was afraid that they might have cleaned up and put away some of the food but that was not the case. All of the food were still out and so I was able to get everything that I liked. The protein was still fresh and everything was good. I am happy to report that this place is good at any time of the day. Well, I've never tried poke for breakfast before so maybe I should qualify my comments. They have a lot of options, too! You can also choose the different sizes depending on the scoops of fish you want (two, three or four). The flavors of the mix of fish and toppings are decent. So far I've been to Go Fish Poke Bar and Aloha Fresh and now, Poke Bar. Like most reviewers say, it is located inside Ava Market right at the entrance with a giant sign so it's not too hard to find but just be ware of that. From my previous poke experiences, I've exited I'm not a fan of heavy drenching my fish in sauces so I asked the workers to use less sauce when mixing. This actually let me taste the fish and to be honest, it didn't have that much flavor (I guess that's what I get for asking for "little sauce"). However, that does say something to me that perhaps their fish isn't the highest quality but that's not a huge deal really.. (I doubt most other places would be any different). They give pretty small scoops of the "protein" options and it'll cost you extra if you want more crab meat or seaweed but at least they give a good amount of those two. I know some reviewers don't like how the Crab meat has no mayo but I've found the other poke places to add TOO much mayo so I really liked the Crab meat plain. The nice thing is they have a good amount of extra stuff such as pineapples, corn, etc that you can add extra of. The crunchy garlic and onions are really good so def try those out! Avocado and mango are an extra $1 but I've seen that at other places so not surprised. The bowl is pretty large and the price isn't bad but I think out of the now 3 poke places I've been to, I'd go for Go Fish Poke Bar since it has huge bowls for the best price. It's Subway/Chipotle style, where you get in line and choose your base (white/brown rice, salad, nachos, or half/half) and a size (small=2 scoops fish, medium=3, large=4). If you want half and half, keep in mind that they can only do half chips if you get a large. They also have a good selection of fish! I like the salmon, tuna, and octopus myself, but they also have spicy tuna, shrimp, and scallops. I also really love the mixins you can get! At some places, you'd have to pay extra, but at Poke Bar, you can get seaweed salad or crab on the side plus you can mix in edamame, corn, cilantro, cucumbers, cilantro, etc. And you can a few choices for toppings! I love the crunchy garlic and onions myself. The sauces are also great. I particularly love the spicy mayo, but the wasabi mayo is also a solid choice. One of my new favorite poke places to eat!!! I've been here 2 times in the last week and it is amazing! Located in a grocery store, it is not hard to miss the sign when you're strolling around Castro. They have 3 sizes to choose from, several options of protein, and plenty of vegetables. Their sauces are great too, I've had the house dressing and the ponzu and both are just delicious. My favorite part about the bowls are that they have imitation crab and seaweed (like actual seaweed, not the dried kind) and that isn't charged extra. The option of mango and avocado is $1 each but I don't mind paying for it because they don't skimp you on those. Random, but I like the way they designed the bowl. Regular bowls in my opinion make it difficult to really mix the protein and rice evenly. Usually, the standard bowls have rice packed at the bottom and everything else on time, making it more often that you are left with a lot of rice at the end. Poke Bar (not officially associated with Pokemon but still next to a Poke Stop) is located inside a small grocery store where they serve seafood salads in a similar style to Chipotle. You pick your base (salad, nachos, rice, etc), your proteins (tuna, salmon, tofu, shrimp, etc), and a large selection of toppings and dressings to customize your salad. It isn't the highest quality and can be a bit pricey, but it is a very quick and healthy lunch for the employee on the go. Hands down the best Poke in Mountain View. It's a little hidden inside of a grocery store, but don't let looks deceive you. I've come here for work lunches quite a bit, and the fish Tuna and Salmon are always very fresh (the Albacore can be hit or miss). The add-ins and sauces as well as the bases are all top notch. Service is super fast, and the prices are great. Granted unless you're very hungry, Medium is the best bang for your buck you still get a lot of fish, without all the extra rice the large comes with. Another great addition to downtown MV! This is located inside Ava's Market (where their ice cream stand used to be). From Castro, you can also see their round orange "Poke Bar" sign so you won't miss it. The overall operations may seem small, but the food should not be overlooked because their portions are good ... and filling! Prices will be based on the size of your bowl (small, medium, large) and any additional extra add-ons (e.g. Avocado = $1 extra). I think the Medium (3 scoops) is a really good option. Have it chipotle-style: choose your base (e.g. rice, salad, or mix), proteins, and toppings. I think they do a great job with "plating", and with all of the businesses working in downtown MV, it's the perfect option for a takeout lunch! A very clean and efficient poke bar located inside of a local market. The guys behind the counter are quick and get the job done. You can mix and match rice, salad, nachos and proteins. I went for the small size with 2 scoops of salmon and it was very filling. The key is to add the fried garlic and fried onions. Price is reasonable and it is easy to grab a table outside the market while you relax under an umbrella as you watch passersby. Very casual and quick. read more

This is an acceptable poke bar that gives you a large quantity of food. The fish is reasonably fresh, as are most other ingredients. However, the flavor is lacking, and the corn/veggies/etc are somewhat stale. Overall, the balance of ingredients is just average. The kale noodles in particular are dry and disappointing. Delicious, no-frills poke bar in an assuming location. And by unassuming location, I mean a grocery store/market. Fairly simple concept: Choose your carb (or salad), choose your sides (crab salad, seaweed salad), choose your protein (octopus, spicy tuna, tuna, albacore, salmon, tofu), choose your veggies (so many veggies), choose your sauce, and voila -- enjoy. It's about $12.50 after tax for a medium, which is 3 scoops of goodness. Overall, this place is quick and has very friendly service. Yum! Delicious poke inside a grocery store! I stumbled upon Poke Bar while I walked into the grocery store. The salmon and ahi are pretty fresh, and they are pretty generous with their toppings.
