Love poke king! They are always so friendly and kind! Amazing food for a quick bite! The spot is so clean and organized, it's a nice place to stop in for a date night!

This is crap!

Ordered this with door dash. I figured it'll be easy clicking what I wanted. You put it together and good. MISSING half my veggies. No sauces. Missing my protein! 25$ for this crap. Smh. No one answers the phone. What a waste

White rice, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, crab, spicy crab, avocado, seaweed, cilantro. House sauce, and unagi sauce

Still the best! This is the spot I judge all other Poke restaurants against. All the ingredients are fresh, the rice is warm and cooked just right, and you can have it made however you want. Service is always quick and friendly. The remodeled space is great for sharing poke with friends.

We come here often, so excuse my shock that I have not reviewed this awesome place. My daughters love the crab on rice dishes, and I love a salad covers in fish here. The staff is hyper helpful, and the ambiance is fast casual.

It's such a cool environment and great poke to boot?! I had a fantastic build your own regular bowl. The friendly staff was nice and had great suggestions to add some fire to my poke. Two proteins i suggest the spicy tuna, it was fresh and had some kick!

Seafood Poké Bowl (Regular)

This seafood poké bowl was chef's kiss--super fresh, perfectly seasoned, and basically a beach vacation in a bowl. The servers were awesome: friendly, cute, and clearly knew their stuff, which made the whole experience even better. Toss in a great vibe, cozy ambience, and smooth, thoughtful service, and you've got THIS spot. 10/10, would happily slurp every last bite again. Surely coming back over and over!

This is usually the first stop of our Reno getaways and sometimes the last stop. My son likes to get one for the drive back home. It is the best poke bowl we've had and I am not comparing it to Poke in Hawaii so don't get it twisted. They have a variety of proteins, toppings, mix ins, sauces that you won't find at other shops and they even have wonton chips if you want a nacho style bowl. This place does not skimp on the portions either as you can see from the picture. You even get 2 scoops of the crab mix with every bowl. I believe they only charge extra for avocado and extra scoops of crab and fish. My order changes every time and I've never had one I didn't enjoy. This bowl had Yellow Tail, Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Scallops and Octopus with the House Sauce mixed in, spicy crab, onions, jalapeño, cucumber, seaweed salad, wasabi, ginger, tobiko with all the crunchy toppings and Mango Habanero sauce on top. This one definitely hit the spot.

Loved the food. One star off for added sugar in the coconut juice. Please offer real coconut water without added sugar.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Reno!…read more Kuma has a good vibe as a casual but classy sushi restaurant. It is a real sushi restaurant with real sushi chefs who know how to properly prepare the sushi. The restaurant is actually small and located in a strip mall with plentiful free parking. There are no more than 30 tables and a sushi bar. Every time I go, it is bustling. The restaurant is always very clean and the tables are ready to serve. The food is well prepared and the service is fast. My favorite on the menu is the crab bake roll. To be fair, every sushi roll I have eaten there is delicious. Treat yourself to some good sushi!

I used to come to this sushi place because when I first moved here from another state, a friend…read morerecommended it as a pretty good new spot. My very first visit was actually quite impressive--I thought for an all-you-can-eat sushi place outside of a casino, it was definitely one of the decent spots in Reno. However, things went downhill on my second visit. I brought a friend from out of state and we sat at the sushi bar. Normally, when you sit at the bar, you can order directly with the chef, but we understood that there might be a language barrier, so we wrote our orders on the paper sheet instead. Still, service was a mess: our appetizer took forever and came out wrong twice, they forgot our tea, and even though there were only two or three tables plus just the two of us at the bar, they kept checking off items on our order sheet that had never been served. My third visit was the absolute breaking point. The waitress--a large woman standing in the back--walked over so painfully slow, with zero energy or interest in working. No smile, no greeting, and she didn't even ask where we'd like to sit until we had to speak up and request the sushi bar. That day, a soccer game was playing on TV. The sushi chefs clearly didn't want to work--they kept turning around to watch the game and chatter among themselves, completely ignoring us. There was no communication whatsoever until we finally had to ask, "Are you guys ready to make our food?" Only then did one chef ask, "Are you ready?" Since we sat at the bar just for some simple nigiri, we wanted to order verbally, but they insisted we write it down. My friend was confused because if we wrote our orders on the same sheet, they'd serve everything on one shared plate. Sitting at the bar means we wanted to order and eat at our own pace on individual plates, so we had to ask for a second order sheet. We then waited nearly 30 minutes for our sushi. Nobody checked on us or asked if we wanted anything else, and they actively avoided eye contact. Our second round of appetizers never arrived--yet again, they marked it as served and handed the paper back! I had to call the server over to ask why it was checked off when we hadn't received a thing. Then my friend submitted a second round of sushi orders directly to the chef. After waiting a ridiculously long time--nearly 20 minutes--we wondered where our chef went, thinking he just stepped away to grab ingredients. Suddenly, the chef next to him picked up our order sheet, muttered something to himself, and handed it back to us. Since his English wasn't great, we couldn't understand what he said, but once again, they had marked our order as complete even though we were sitting right in front of them with zero food! If a chef needs to take a break, they should hand off the pending orders to a coworker, not just vanish without a word. My friend was so frustrated that I finally asked the server why the order sheet was handed back without the food being made. She apologized and offered to tell the chef again, but by then, we were done. Having been disappointed three times in a row, we decided to call it quits, pay the bill, and leave. We will never step foot in this place again. It's really a shame because the owner is Korean. I have Korean friends myself, and I used to own a sushi restaurant too. Korean owners are usually deeply attentive to their customers. During my first visit, the owner personally took care of the guests. But later on, after leaving the floor to non-Korean staff, the service completely tanked. The staff lacked any enthusiasm, urgency, or passion for customer service. It was immensely disappointing, and there definitely won't be a fourth visit.

I got passed by 7 different times before a waiter told me to put the ticket in the holder for someone to come get it. The server was going to put it in the holder and walk away without it until I mentioned I'd already been passed by several times, then he took it with a huff. In 2018 I gave this place a 5 star so I wanted to try it again with my mother and my son. A little disappointed. I'm willing to give it another chance but not anytime soon. I need the distaste of bad service to get out of my mouth before I return.

We were seated quickly. Now that can be attributed to the fact that we were early for dinner. We opted for a tabled, but there were plenty of seats available at the sushi bar. We only waited for a few minutes before the first wave of fish was delivered. Throughout dinner, we never had to wait long for the sushi to be delivered. The atmosphere was decent. It felt like it was more of a storefront than a traditional restaurant. But, it was a storefront and I don't care about that. I base my rating on freshness, service and cleanliness of the store. One thing that surprised me was the Kani (crab). I ordered it wondering if it would be real crab or imitation. It was real! I was happy and surprised. I ate my fill. Actually, I ate more than my fill. Enjoyed it completely. My sushi coma was justified. Appetizers, nigiri, and rolls here are usually a smidge behind Tokyo in variety, taste, and fish to rice ratio on the nigiri, but still very good -- definitely above average. They did dial back the amount of sugar in their rice since the last time I was here. Kudos! The dining experience here is a much more low-stress experience than Tokyo Sushi. There's usually little to no wait unless you're in a large group, as opposed to Tokyo's madhouse that has waits frequently of an hour. Music isn't blasting so you can hear the person at the other side of the table speak, and service is consistently excellent in the relatively small dining room. It's about $4 less expensive with tax and tip then Tokyo also at $42 vs $46 total as of July 2026. Complete joke for the price…read more I frequent sushi spots all over and stopped in here because of a work trip, and honestly it was a massive disappointment. I ordered two rolls, the negi toro roll and the fire ocean roll. I literally have pictures of both because the rice to fish ratio is a complete joke for what they are charging you. It was basically a giant mountain of rice with a tiny sliver of fish hidden inside. The food could have been salvageable but the service was also bad. I was given two sushi rolls with no soy sauce plate, no chopsticks and no napkins. I had to sit there staring at my food while it sat warm on the table. I also ordered edamame and it's a miracle that you can dry something out by steaming it. It was completely shriveled and uneditable. To top it all off, none of the hosts or waitresses paid attention to me for an extended period of time so I talked to the sushi chefs that spoke no english to help me. 5 stars to them because they actually tried to help me out when the rest of the staff ignored me, but unfortunately it doesn't really help the restaurant.
