I've tried many poke from Los Angeles to Orange County and I have to say, Poke Tiki (Orange) is my favorite. Customer service is awesome and they are generous with their portions. The proteins and the toppings taste really good which separates them from other poke restaurants. Their sauces are unique as well; I recommend the volcano sauces and poke sauce. Poke is one of my favorite semi fast food meals and I think I have a good taste for when its good and when its bad. That being said, this place was a huge disappointment, from the customer service, to the quality of the fish used in the poke here - I genuinely wonder how its rated 4 stars. Came in around lunch rush, 12:30, and there was no line. (Now I know why) The girl was really rude, in a huge rush FOR NO REASON granted there was no line, and dismissive towards any questions I had. Most poke places that are build your own bowl, like Poke Tiki, will have you pick your fish and toss it in your requested sauce. They don't do that here. It's unfortunate as the sauce would probably help in masking the poor quality of their fish. Anyways, I ordered salmon & tuna in my bowl - both did not taste fresh, and both had a really gross fishy tastes to them. On top of that - their seaweed salad was overly wet and slimy, which grossed me out even further. You should know that they also don't have Siracha sauce here - they sub it with some mediocre in-house hot sauce. In retrospect, I regret tipping the girl but the tip jar was empty so I did...I'm trying so hard to find something positive to write here but I cant and feel annoyed that I just wasted $14. read more

The only other poke place I've ever been to is one that is in Huntington Beach where they mix your ingredients with a plastic glove in a little bowl. I asked my server to mix mine and she says we don't do that. And I said well can you do it for me and she said no. When I gave her the money she accuse me of throwing it at her very disgusted way. Found this place after doing some shopping cardio at Main Place Mall! Decided to check it out since it was close by~ Came here around 3PM and the store was empty (yay for no lines). They offer 2 sizes: regular (priced around 8$) and large (around 11$). IMO, the large didn't look that much bigger compared to the regular so might as well stick to the regular and save 3$. I like how they have different options for the base such as rice, salad, nacho chips (usually poke places don't offer chips!!). You can also mix and match the bases. Overall, the food was fresh and service was awesome. Avocado is extra :( and they were stingy on the sauce. They have volcano sauces which ranges from 1-3. The 3 was pretty spicy and the 2 tasted like sriracha. The spicy mayo was good. It's a nice poke place to try when you're in the area! read more

I highly recommend eating it right then and there to appreciate the freshness. This review has been a long time coming. This is my favorite poke bowl spot. I must have gone here at least 50 times over the last year or two for lunch. The best part about this poke spot is they don't skimp on the fish! If you eat a lot of poke bowls you know the amount of fish you get in each scoop can vary widely from place to place. The 3 scoop normal bowl is more then enough fish in my opinion. Add all the toppings and abundant amount of rice/salad they give you, and you have a very filling meal. The third poke place within walking distance of each other on Main St. The fish is good and bowls are of decent size. This is sushi style poke, think of a deconstructed roll, as opposed to Hawaiian style, which is marinated fish over rice. The fish was fresh, but there were not a lot of choices (no yellowtail I think) and the sauces are added on top instead of mixed in with the fish, so you can get a wide variety of flavors depending on what is on your individual bite at the time. It gets busy with the crowd from CHOC/St. Jo's, so you might not find a seat at the heart of the lunch rush. read more

CONSISTENCY IS KEY. I've been to this location once, but my co-workers and I have ordered lunch from this place numerous times. The quality is consistent and you'll never feel disappointed. The size, pricing and quality of their bowls are reasonable. It's the reason we keep coming back. My favorite is half brown rice, half salad base with salmon and spicy miso sauce. I usually get all the toppings, with the exception of edamame. It's never too crazy during the lunch rush- we get our food in a reasonable amount of time. I've been a loyal customer to Poke Works but I think this place is going to be my new go-to. First off, a large includes FIVE scoops, yes five, for $12.99 unlike other places where they only give 3 scoops for the same price. There's also no limit on sides/toppings. I think the only downside would be that there's not that many sauce options in comparison to other places, but if you only need spicy mayo and lava sauce/some hot type they have it. They also have discounts for checking in. I also like how they use compostable bowls, not just all plastic. I've been to several poke places in Orange County since being introduced to it and this place is by far and away the best. 1) Gernerally speaking they dont skimp on the fish; in fact, I usually see them adding a s helping extra if they think that there wasn't enough fish. (This can sometimes depend on your server but I've never been given less fish that what should be on there) 2) The topping offered are the best selection. Not just in terms of taste, but of what should common sense be put on top of a bowl. 3) Their house poke sauce is superb; other places' sauce are too vinegary or too sweet. I have had a lot of Poke and honestly, this isn't super great. I really don't get why it has such high reviews. The fish was just okay. It didn't taste very fresh, and honestly tasted like a mix of fresh and frozen fish. Also the crab salad had a VERY fishy taste. Like it still had packaging liquid on it or something. There's literally 3 options for sauce: "poke" sauce (what does that even mean?), sesame oil, and "volcano" sauce. They didn't toss it in a bowl like every other place does, they just squirted some on top. The service was also minimal at best. The girl helping me literally walked away before I was done asking for toppings. I assumed she would be back, since she didn't say anything, but the girl at the register picked my bowl up to charge me. I said "oh I didn't get sauce or toppings" and she made a whole big deal over adding stuff for me. Didn't even put sauce on, just gave me a cup on the side. Also the miso soup was dark brown? It tasted horrible. I know there is dark miso... but the soup was almost black. It tasted weird, the service was iffy, and there aren't that many options. As with most/all other poke places, you go down and pick size, base, fish, toppings, etc. They have a little fewer protein options than some other places, but what they had (I had albacore, tuna, and salmon) tasted fresh. They also have fewer sauce options (really just two, not counting some spicy sauces). Toppings, though, run the usual smorgasbord (seaweed salad, "crab" salad, etc), and were plentiful. So while I wish they had some more protein/sauce options, it's certainly not a deal breaker. Consider this place my new local workplace poke fix! read more

Love this place! It's super clean inside and easy to find. Menu is easy to read and navigate and the service is really good. I got a regular poke bowl to-go and it was definitely a great-size portion. The fish is super fresh and they have difference varieties like "salmon crab meat" and "albacore crab meat". I decided to get just regular salmon, but it's nice to have the option for these varieties if I choose to venture out next time! They also give a generous amount of sides (massage, seaweed salad, etc.) Though they charge extra for avocado, they're pretty generous with that too! Make sure you check in for 10% off; with the check-in discount, it's cheaper than other places in the area AND you get a bigger portion AND it tastes better. Can't beat that! read more

Been to the one down in Costa Mesa/Newport and I was happy that there's this location just because it's closer to my house. They have 2 sizes, regular and large. Just like any other poke place, you choose your base, seafood, toppings, sauces, etc. I love how their rice is really consistent and their salad seems to be really fresh as well. One thing I question is the freshness of their protein. First off, their tuna, octopus, and their spicy tuna are great. However, their salmon is on the slimy side, but not too fishy. Their albacore isn't the best and so are their scallops. The scallops are on the harder side, instead of it being mushier, which I prefer. They have a wide variety of toppings. The one topping that stands out the most is their cucumber. It's marinated to perfection. For their sauces, for sure get their poke sauce and sesame oil. I usually get the Volcano #2 drizzled on the bowl, with Volcano #3 on the side. Those two sauces are what makes this poke joint my favorite. Although the salmon and scallops may be off, the sauces are what it's all about next on the list. To top it off, they have dried seaweed and crunchy onions. They have several drink options in their fridge, along with complimentary water on the side. Plenty of seats inside. Very spacious. They have one unisex bathroom. Parking outside is pretty spacious as well, as it is in a food plaza with many fast casual restaurants to choose from. One main reason I'm not giving this establishment five stars is their service.
