To be completely honest, a lot of the poke places I've tried now have little to no differentiation when it comes to taste. Sure, one sauce might taste better than the other but unless there's a prominent fishy taste, they're all about the same. So to me...at the end of the day it comes down to three things: price, portion and topping. When it comes to portion, poke tiki provides a (if not the same as other places) slightly larger portion for their "regular" sized bowl. Three scoops is plenty more than enough for me and for $8.99 that's pretty darn good. The process is about the same as any other - base, choice of fish, and toppings. The difference here are three things (below) and this is speaking from my personal experience. 1) They didn't marinate my fish before putting it into the bowl. In fact, they completely skipped the sauce part, asked me what I wanted for toppings, and had me move to the cashier to pay. I had to remind them they skipped the sauce and they ended up taking the bowl back and just drizzling it over the entire bowl. 2) They charge $0.75 for a small scoop of avocado. Not an extra or second scoop - the FIRST scoop. This was a little disappointing as I've never came across a poke place where they charged for avocado - like, isn't this a necessary staple? 3) And lastly, customer service just sort of sucked. They assumed I didn't want the furikake or seaweed and proceeded to close the lid (to which I had them reopen it and add it in). Long story short, the poke's good but not worth the annoyance of having to disrupt what should be a seamless assembly line of putting a poke bowl together. read more

I did not start ordering food from here until a rather recent phase of extreme poke cravings during Covid 19. Since quarantine I have ordered a bowl almost weekly, both through food delivery apps and in-person pick up. This place has definitely become my go to for poke; the fish is always so fresh and they have such a large selection of both fish and toppings. The first time I ordered food from here, I was immediately impressed by the portion sizes. Many poke places will skimp on the fish, but Poke Tiki does not do this at all, and I satisfied for a long time after my meal (which I know is typically a problem for others). I'm glad this poke spot opened up. It's near my work and it's pretty good. You get a descent amount of fish on your bowl. They got different levels of volcano spice. If you wanna be safe, stick with the volcano one with a side of spicy mayo. Just ask for sides of the diff levels if you want to step it up a notch read more

I love the Costa Mesa location so I was excited to find out there was one in Orange as well, which is closer to where i live now. I went in a little later in the evening and was greeted when I walked in. BUT the girls at the counter weren't exactly friendly. I said I wanted a large bowl and one girl responds, 'base?' And then 'toppings? And then 'poke sauce?' And so on. This was all fine. But her tone was completely rude. She seemed to be inconvenienced and in a hurry, even though I was the only customer in there. I was hoping the cashier would be a little more pleasant. But she wasn't much better. It almost seemed as if the girl who served my food rubbed off on hI parked right in front of the door and noticed the second I got into my car, the girl who served got right back to focusing on her cell phone right when I left. So I guess I was inconveniencing her since I took her away from her phone when I came in. Also, the fish usually tastes great at the CM location, wether its around lunch time or right before closing it always tastes great, BUT the fish (tuna specifically) did not taste fresh at all. It tastes as if it had been sitting out for a while and I almost was scared to eat it because I didn't want to risk food poisoning. As much as I was excited to have a location close by, I'd rather visit the Costa Mesa location where the service is WAY better and the fish tastes fresh every time. So I decided to give this location another try and they def stepped it up! The girl that made my food was quick and very friendly and the portions sizes seem to have gotten bigger which is great because you really get your moneys worth. I was ordering lunch for 6 people and tried to call it in for pick up. Called three times and they never answered the phone. I was a little bit annoyed about that but I was gonna go in there anyways. They weren't busy at all (about 12:30 on a Thursday) so it was strange they didn't pick up the phone. The two employees in the front were more than happy to help me make all the orders quickly. Obviously, making customized 6 bowls is a little tricky but they made it an enjoyable experience and they were pretty fun. The menu linked to this Yelp profile is actually for a different location--the prices for the Orange Poke Tiki is more expensive than what's on that menu. This is 2 stars just in comparison to other Poke places, not to restaurants in general. Not the worst I've been to, but it's in the bottom 5. Salad - 0 stars. It was awful. Discoloration on the ends of lettuce. I'd be shocked if this was cut in house. More like prepackaged. Fish - 3 stars. Salmon and Tuna was pretty ok. I went against my better judgement and got the salmon crab mix. It was awful and put a bad flavor in my entire bowl because I mixed it. Sauce - 1 Star. Poke sauce?! That's it? Have some more choices please. At the end of the line you can add a volcano sauce and/or spicy mayo. This brings me to marinade. It's rare that I come across a place that doesn't marinade the fish separately before adding to the base. To me, that is a must. But the sauce is just average, so who knows if it would even improve the bowl. I had to add two packets of soy sauce to add flavor. Toppings - 3/4 stars. Not bad toppings but they're so dry when not mixed in. Can't get 5 stars without cilantro for this guy. Service - very friendly. Total score not factored for me. Price - about average. $13+ for large salad with no extra add on $ toppings. Drinks - 1 Star. At least they have free water in restaurant. All drinks at in a drink case, which are always colossally overpriced. Can't have a soda/tea fountain? Not sure how that could be. Overall, I would not recommend this poke place and unfortunately there aren't many good ones near hospital across the street that I regularly work at. Let's talk about customer service: I have no idea how Poke Tiki has 4 stars. I was treated so rudely that I literally had to look around for hidden cameras thinking I was in a prank show. Not even a hello, she starts with "What bowl". Moving along, she goes "fish.." and so on. One word questions, NOT EVEN a thank you or come again at the end or a little tiny smile to show thanks in the form of body language. Nope. I usually don't like poke but for some reason I was craving it today. To my surprise, I actually loved my meal. The regular bowl was big and filled me up. The scoops of fish were nice and big. The poke sauce plus the spicy mayo were delicious together. Overall really happy with the meal, but only critique that I have is that they should put the ginger on the side. In Anaheim for a jiujitsu competition so poke bowls with salad as base make a perfect meal with protein and veggies. I am from Atlanta so the poke bowl options are limited there. I was excited to try this on the west coast. The service was fast, just like an Asian Chipotle. The Fish was fresh. I got the 3 protein option and it was more than enough. The other toppings also tasted fresh and there was plenty. I just wished the salad base was either spring mix or kale rather than what looks like romaine lettuce from a premade salad bag. I'm on a Poke frenzy, and to be frank, although Poke is more Hawaiian and much simpler than the Chipotle-style pick your own sides, Poke Tiki lacks some of the components that make these bowls such a hit. The toppings are less flavorful and the sauces are too separated from the meal. Food: - Poke bowl (large 5 scoops of protein $11.99). First of all, the price is a little bit more than other places. The protein options are standard (Salmon, Tuna, Yellow tail, and spicy options). The sauce options are a little limited and what makes it surprising (in a bad way) is that these sauces arent mixed into the protein but just poured onto the bowl. This leaves the protein to speak for itself with a slight hint of a sauce. Sadly the protein isnt the freshest in the first place, so it doesnt exactly "poke" out. Sides are standard and avocado costs extra. Sadly the Large isnt even that plump of a meal - usually these fill me up but with the lackluster number of sides and shallower rice layer, it doesnt fly very far. What really defines my star-level is that it just doesnt have bolder flavors that mix well with one another. Other Poke places really creates a delicious medley, but Poke Tiki doesnt hit those notes. Pros: - Simple, quick, clean food. - Simple decor. It kind of reminds me of a version of Chipotle. Cons - Overpriced for quality of food. - Not as much food for a the large size. Disappointing. Tips: - Check-in and get 10% off! I'm glad I got to try out a Poke place near home, but this will probably be the last time I'll come here. There are better places in the area. I'm happy. What I usually order: Large for $11.99. Their large portion fills me up for both lunch and dinner. This includes 4 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of tuna. Usually, I don't get tuna because it can have more of a fishy taste than salmon, especially if it's been frozen. But at this place, I don't taste the "fishiness," which I'm assuming is because their fish is really fish. I usually pack on all the other sides (imitation crab, seaweed, edamame, cucumber, ginger, fried garlic, and dried seaweed). Avocado is extra $. I was incredibly disappointed with my experience here. I started getting into poke thanks to Poke 1-N-Half down the street, and thought I would drop in on my lunch break to see what Poki Tiki had to offer. First, the employee helping me never said hello, or even made eye contact, and had an attitude the entire time. Second, the albacore that I got tasted like it had been sitting around for a while, and the salad was wilted. Their prices are too high to not be totally satisfied. I was craving poke and this was the closest place near work and decided to check it out. When I first came in, there was a short line and tables were pretty full. They have two sizes regular (3 scoops - $8.99) and large (5 scoops - $11.99). i ordered a regular with half white rice and half brown rice with a tuna, salmon, and spicy tuna. I was disappointed that avocado was extra since that's something thats usually always included with poke. The portions here are definitely big. While they do not give you much rice with their teeny tiny scoopers and they kinda cheat you with that with their "big" cuts, the bowl is big that they stuff it with everything else (the sides). They're generous of imitation crab so I guess you can count that as another scoop of meat. I'm not too big on salmon but their fish choices are limited and their albacore that day did not look that good. The quality of the fish wasn't fishy but it wasn't fresh either. It was very chewy and didn't melt in your mouth. While I know I can't expect high quality of fish from a poke place I at least have expectations for the fish to not be fishy or chewy. Given that the fish wasn't fishy and the bowls were huge, I would give this place another try. You really get your money's worth here. A large could easily be shared and split between two people. A regular was more than enough for one. read more

Pretty good poke place, lots of items to choose from. Decent price for a regular bowl around $11 with a check in. I got two scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of tuna. The fish is pretty fresh, but the sauces they use aren't the my favorite they don't have a large selection. I don't really eat spicy food so I only got the poke sauce. Good portion, but the sauce doesn't like soak into the fish so you can't taste much of it so you have to dip the fish into the sauce. I went there 2-3 times and the workers really push you to order fast even when no one is there. Good place if your craving decent poke. read more
