Poppy's Lounge is located at the Hilton Anaheim. You'll see it at the center of the Hotel as soon as you enter it. It's part of the newly reimagined lobby for the Hilton Hotel. The lounge's design is beautiful. It's modernized with comfortable plush seating, natural textures, and a huge grand chandelier! After my husband and I visited Disneyland, we ended up stopping by Poppy's Lounge for a drink and a quick bite to eat. The menu at Poppy's Lounge included handcrafted cocktails and shareable small plates. It's also a great area just to hang out at to meet, recharge, and plan your adventures at nearby Theme Parks. If you need to wait to check in to your hotel room, there is plenty of seating available at the lounge area. We ended up sitting at the bar at Poppy's Lounge. There were two seats that were open. TVs were situated at every angle of the bar. The college football games were playing on all screens. Some of the shareables on the menu included the following -Hot Honey Mustard Wings -Pork Belly Burnt Ends -Grilled Lump Crab Cake -Brie & Prosciutto There were also handheld options like hamburgers, tacos, chicken club and more. If you're looking for salads, there were several options on Poppy's Lounge menu. After looking over the menu, we had decided on the Pepperoni Pizza which include the house made Pomodoro sauce, Pepperoni, Asiago & Mozzarella. We didn't wait long for the pizza, approximately 20 minutes, watching the football game while waiting for the food! The pizza was more of a thin crust style. Overall, it was just okay. I wouldn't order it again, but after walking all day at Disneyland, it was great just to sit down, watch the football game, and have a small bite to eat. The price was expensive. For just one drink and the shareable pizza was around $60.00. The service was fantastic at the bar, but it was just a little too expensive to want to go back there again. read more

This spot rocks! We took advantage of having a meal twice here when staying at the Hilton. I loved the ahi tacos at lunch one day and then opted for Chilaquiles at breakfast. Everything was SO tasty! My husband loved the big breakfast sando. I cannot say enough nice things about our server at breakfast. She was awesome! They have a nice variety options on their menu. Dinner at 7pm. Service was great, ambiance was good as well. The appetizers were the best in our meal. The main courses were not good. Burger was very dry. Although my wife like her burgers well its was the condiments lack of that made it dry. Bum was bad as well. Now the waygu filet. The worst steak I've ever had. Cream spinach was OK. I don't recommend the filet. There are plenty of people that eat here i think we just made a bad choice entrées. read more

The host greeted us right away & sat us down. We were able to look over our menu with plenty of time before of waiter came to introduce himself & take our order. We order coke, & sherly temple as our drinks. My boyfriend & I share the Cali Burger & the wings which was plenty for the both of us. The wings sauce was sweet & savory, it came with a side of ranch which was right up our ally. The Cali burger we cut in half, which filled us up plenty. The flavor really complimented our wings, tying together our meal for the night. This place never looks busy, but don't let this fool you, their food is good! They also serve their food at the bar and of course as room service. The service was great, very sweet host & super attentive waiter. I can't say much about this lounge since I didn't actually stay to eat, but we made a reservation because someone recommended their Thanksgiving buffet. We assumed that, since it was Thanksgiving, we'd have no other option, so we booked it. We were in town for a conference and made the reservation late, around 8:15 PM. When we walked in, it was almost empty, though I'm sure that was due to the time of day. I know it was a special holiday menu, but it was a JOKE how little food there was. When you hear "buffet," you expect bigger portions or at least more side options. We walked into the very small buffet room and immediately walked out. I will not--cannot--pay $60 for one adult and have so few options. And the options weren't even great--who eats Brussels sprouts for Thanksgiving? We had to leave right away. The service was friendly and completely understood why we were leaving. Will not be booking this again. We attend this conference every year, but this lounge is just not for us. read more

Was in town for a conference and stopped by Poppy's Lounge my first night...such a fun spot! Service was excellent, and the house wine was actually really good. I ordered the fish tacos, and they were delicious. A couple of nights later, I went back with a friend to catch the Giants-Dodgers game. We ordered a few small bar bites and drinks, and even though my Giants lost (ouch), I still had a great time. The bartender was a Dodgers fan, so there was some fun back-and-forth banter that made the night even better. Overall, excellent service, good food, and solid drinks. Took off 1 star cause the prices are too high ($21 for an old-fashioned at hotel bar in the middle of the front lobby?). Definitely a nice place to hang out if you're staying at the Hilton or at the convention center for an event. read more

It's really lacking for what is projected to be an elevated hotel dining experience. I got breakfast with my group for the NAMM Show and was shocked to see a menu with basic appetizers and only 5 real entree items. I got the classic breakfast and was surprised that $25 was such a small serving of 5-6 finger potatoes, 2 eggs overcooked at that, and simple toast. Edible. Not terrible but not thrilling at all. I've definitely seen better at the likes of Denny's. One of my friend's fruit didn't even look fresh- the kind that looks a few days old, soggy and a bit shriveled looking already. The service was okay though, coffees filled enough though we weren't really checked on otherwise. The coffee was not good, in fact I felt like crap and more tired after drinking it. I recommend the Marriott's breakfast if you want something better and in proximity. read more

Went to the OC Auto Show Friday night. After the show, my group and I got one drink each at the Hilton Hotel next door to the convention center. I was surprised to see that the bar automatically added a 20% tip to my check. A 20% charge for the most challenging of tasks of turning 180 degrees, pouring three beers into glasses then turning back and handling us the beers. Not to wait us at a table, not to make us a difficult cocktail but just to pour three beers. On top of it all, on the check the hotel has audacity to place the option for an additional tip. To be clear, I'm not against tipping however I find this borderline stealing. Tip amount should be at the discretion of the guest and not the proprietor. There was no sign anywhere stating the automatic tip (more like a surcharge) otherwise I would not have been upset. Also for the past 20 years, we've been parking at the hotel parking structure when visiting the Auto Show. But will now be taking a rideshare. Parking this year was $42 for two-and-a-half hours. Last year, it was about $25 and years prior, it was in the $10 - $15 range. The hike in parking fee is absolutely outrageous. I feel bad for the families staying at this hotel when visiting Disneyland. I am sure they're blindsided by these charges however will likely not do much about it since they're vacationing. Terrible service and disappointing food. The hostess was rude from the start when I asked about a to-go order, and later ignored my daughter and her friend when they politely tried to ask about our food. After handing my card to the waitress and receiving the final receipt, I noticed the $117.89 listed -- and just below it, another line asking for a third additional tip. Service was actually terrible. Hostess was rude. She told us it would be a 5-10 minute wait (for 3 people) but we ended up waiting close to an hour before giving up and just getting food elsewhere. This wouldn't have been too bad if she was communicative or apologized for the wait but she was literally just standing there stone faced and whenever we asked questions about the menu she'd give us attitude. They remodeled this place recently, and it's much brighter than the dingy dungeon that it used to be! The now-circular bar has a ton of seats, and there and many more seating options within the lobby than ever before. But beware. Stayed here for a convention and food in the area was super expensive.. so we thought we might as well try this lounge in the hotel. The sidewinder fries are likely Sysco but while the food was good, the service we had was usually top notch. Staff was kind and went out of their way. The menu didn't mention pickles and when it was mentioned that my husband wasn't a fan of the sandwich, they replaced it with his choice and the fish tacos were amazing. He accidentally spilled some of his left overs and the brought a free dessert just to make our night a little better. The next time we came in, we were trying to save some money and ordered the burger meal and they brought it to us cut in half to share and with extra aioli just to be kind. They definitely changed how i felt about the hotel and were honestly the best thing there. read more
