Came here for dinner on saturday early evening with 3 others and restaurant was not busy but our service was less then 5 stars. Waited for our waitress Petya to take our drink order but decided to ask another waiter if we could order drinks from him and he was kind enough to put a drink order in for us and that took long to make. Dinner was good just needed alittle salt on mine and made the mistake on asking another waiter(Petya wasn't around) for salt and yep that took forever to get too. We wanted to order more drinks but Petya didn't come to check on us, she basically just took our food order and the server brought our food. When we done with dinner and wanted to ask her for the check she was at other end of restaurant chatting with a table. i asked the manager/owner to check us out with the bill because we couldn't wait any longer for her to come back to at least close up our bill. Not sure what was the reason for bad service, like i said the restaurant wasn't busy at all. I will not be coming back but will definitely dine at one of the many other restaurants on the strip there in LaGrange. read more

First time visitors at this restaurant and we have nothing but good things to share. The Citrus Salmon salad was delicious along with their mussels. Both dishes were filled with flavor and tasted very fresh. I also ordered a matcha latte on ice and asked for some cinnamon and honey with almond milk and they made it to perfection. Prasino does not disappoint. Recently our family group of seven came here for a birthday celebration. I selected Prasino because we had two vegetarians in the group, and Prasino offers many excellent non-meat dishes. Several people ordered the black bean burger and declared it to be delicious. One person enjoyed the ramen, one person enjoyed the beef burger, and one loved the short ribs. I ordered the gnocchi which was delicious. Our server was very attentive - no complaints with the service! The restaurant even provided dessert with a candle in honor of my mother's birthday. I have found Prasino to be consistently good the several times I have eaten here. It's a great choice of dining venue for a group with varying tastes and dining preferences. read more

Found this place because I was looking for vegan options around the Brookfield Zoo! They offer vegan pancakes, tacos, Benedict and breakfast scrambles!! And order the rye toast because that's amazing! You get a whole lot of food for the money too... My daughter and I easily could have split ours. We both ordered the tofu scramble and a side of sweet potato hash. The scramble comes with three soy sausages, a half plate of scrambled tofu and hash brown potatoes. We didn't need the sweet potatoes but we wanted to try it ... Ended up leaving half the food. :( but we are on the road so nowhere to store it. Delicious and healthy! This restaurant accomplished many different things in our short stay. We had a 10 month old and 80 year olds with us and there was something yummy on the menu for everyone. The wait staff was cheerful and efficient, knew when to be attentive and when we needed space. The decor has a fun vibe and is clean. We made our reservation through open table and that worked perfectly. Parking is a tad crowded in downtown LaGrange so we were slightly late for our reservation. They didn't have an issue with that and seated us the moment we arrived. read more

I love this place, sad part for years I never tried it. I've now had meals from five times and can comfortably say that this is a must try in this area. The restaurant is clean with a calm relaxing atmosphere. Their menu is excellent, there's something to eat for everyone that goes here. All the meals are very tasty and healthy, with great portions. The way they make their dishes here allow you to actually taste the main ingredient without covering it up with sauces or other over powered spices. They are pricey, especially for some of their dishes. But it's a nice place to go to for a more casual night out over the chain restaurants. Service is very good too. Never had complaints in any of the meals, nor was I ever missed something from my meals. read more

Service is negative stars. I hadn't been here in a while, and I won't be coming back. We waited 30 minutes for our bill. Our server was MIA. We asked 4 other servers to help, and none would. So grateful we have Prasino in our area. They are quality in every direction. Excellent recipes/food, excellent servers, excellent baristas (a shout out to making a perfect Uncle Elvis), excellent customer service. I like to support local and especially when an establishment isn't a chain. They keep me wanting to come back. I don't eat meat and my absolute favorite on the breakfast menu are the meatless breakfast patties. My all time favorite flat bread is The Farm. They both could win awards. Great location. Good ambience. Food mediocre. 1) Avocado a toast will come on what appears to be a regular wheat toast slice with a avocado spread. Got the Mexican toast, and each toast slice has the equivalent of 1 ice cream scoop worth of elote corn kernels (good). This come room temperature. 2) breakfast potatoes were not good. Diced red potatoes with some seasoning and potentially baked. Came room temperature for everyone at the table. 3) Skillet dishes is basically a pan. Food doesn't appear to be cooked in the pans. Not well incorporated. And again potatoes here room temperature. Eggs cooked right. Laid on top of potatoes and some meat. 4) Tacos were good! Order those. 5) Pancakes were very good. Parsino is a clean large Organic restaurant in an adorable little quant area In downtown Lagrange. There are 4 of us. I ordered a Bloody Mary with Grey Goose and it had all the trimmings celery, olives, cucumber, lemon & lime.. Then we got 2 black bean burgers, Mediterranean chicken salad. The Food is Incredible!!! The staff are wonderful!!! Loved our time here and we will be back.. Our hostess Gabrielle was so sweet. I loved our round booth we had too. read more

Great spot for a Sunday outing. They have an array of drinks to choose from including green juices. Veg out omelet was delicious with even amounts of ingredients not overloaded with cheese like other places. I would come back just to get The cappuccino. Our server was really pleasant. Been awhile, but went back to Prasino today, can't wait for the large downtown LaGrange outdoor street side dining to open. Was going to order the awesome vegan omelet, but opted for the field fresh Mediterranean salad for the table and Chicago's best mussels. Wow, wow, wow. The creamy stock is just too much. Washed it all down with the Aerides Xinisteri, a fabulous, but unknown white wine from Cyprus. According to the staff, they will soon be offering flights of affordable world class wines, not the mediocrity on most wine lists. The staff also told us they will be opening a gourmet Greek restaurant across the street. Looks like downtown LaGrange is upping the ante for foodies. read more

Went to Prasino the January day it snowed, a light, lovely snow. Took a friend, about 10 a.m. Asked to sit at a window, to watch the street in the snow. Everything was perfect! So disappointed. We drove an hour to try this restaurant on our anniversary since my daughters picked it and it has gluten free options for me. Chicken caprese sandwich was so dry and lacking cheese and pesto that my daughter couldn't eat it. I was surprised that no toast or dessert was even offered considering we were celebrating a milestone anniversary. Also had a different waiter take our order since our waitress never came around to get it. Food did come out fast - but they were pretty empty on a Thursday night. Pomegranate margarita was very good - probably the best thing my husband and I had. A trendy and modern feel-good organic place in the heart of downtown La Grange. Parking is available for free out front on the street. The area has lots of wood and metal furniture. Staff are friendly and very helpful. There are lots of windows too, which gives this place a really nice bright appearance. The food was so healthy and delicious I ended up eating here 2 days in a row. Tuna salad - everything was good except for tuna, which was a bit dry. But this is expected of anything you'd find in canned form anyways. Not saying the stuff here is off a supermarket shelf. Just saying cooked tuna is normally on the dry side. A bit heavy on the sauce, but that could be easily wiped off on the plate. Prasino salad - wow this thing is huge. Served with a curious triangle-shaped cracker. Mango tango - nice and tasty smoothie. Mystery smoothie (can't remember what it's called) - orange, pineapple, strawberry. Served in a rainbow fashion (the drink was layered, like a Shirley Temple). Special mention. This one is seriously good, if you don't mind the $6 price tag. Yes the food here is just a tad pricey, but you really can taste the freshness. To clarify- 5 stars for Petya. She was great and took care of us, resolved the issues as best she could, and accommodated our rushed lunch as well. We walked in after we had tried a few restaurants in town that were packed to the gills. The chef refused a request to make 2 skirt steak dinners because it was 3pm, even though skirt steak is in the lunch menu. One of our dishes was a burger medium, and it was very very well done. Mussels were fantastic- limey with a nice kick. Their wine selection is good, the restaurant is spacious, and the service was superb. read more

Went there for my friends birthday lunch! I ordered the veggie burger and after two bites I noticed that the beans in the patty were rancid. I told my server about the issue and he just said "that's the taste of the burger if you've never had a bean based patty you shouldn't have ordered it. I don't recommend this to people." He didn't bother asking if I wanted a new one or something else on the menu. He took my plate away and brought me back the check. Terrible customer service and experience. Very leery when we were first seated because the whole restaurant had a bad fishy smell. "oh, that's the salmon," said the hostess. Really? Ok, we knew what NOT to order! Our food was very nicely presented and very tasty. We had the lobster avocado appetizer. One person in our group had the surf and turf and said it was great. Two of us had the braised short ribs. They were very tender and the sauce was well done. I would be tempted to try the sushi on a future visit. I just couldn't force myself to try it after the bad fishy smell we started with. read more

Prasino is the best! Their brunch is delicious (garden veggie skillet and chicken chilaquilles are where it's at!) and the best coffee. My kids love their juices! We've ordered take out a couple times these past few weeks and that has been great also. My son loves their chicken sandwich! First timers here. Really good impression with customer service and food. We were initially sat down inside but were able to switch to the outside patio with a couple minutes of wait. It was very nice of the staff to be able to move us with no issues, even though I'm sure it might have been a hassle to them. What was impressive was they did not make us feel that it could be a big deal to do so. We ordered two dishes and our server provided us extra plates so we could share the food. Our server instinctively knew that we would share the food and inquired ahead of time so she could ensure we had extra plates. In other establishments, we'd have to tell them or ask for additional plates once the food was served. The food was really good! The most impressive was the uniqueness of the tomato jam on the Hippie omelet. I have never had tomato jam and that was just delicious and tastefully well married to the goat cheese. The strawberry banana crepes fulfilled our sweet tooth ache just enough. It was not overly sweet. The servings were a good size and filling. I will come back to get more of that tomato jam! read more
