One of the best Thai in SoCal. It's always packed (make reservations). Parking in the main lot is like visiting college (packed - use the 2nd lot 1/4 block to the North of the restaurant. Everything is accurately traditional seasoning and flavors. Excellence in every style of dish and presentation. Exceptionally fast service for such a huge place (easily seating 250+) Like a luxury version of Thai Town's best - as demonstrated also by the extremely diverse menu. Food is amazing. Service is good too. There's ample space inside. The only con I have is the parking lot is so small. They have a good lunch special. It's still kinda steep at $16-17 a plate but it does come with a generous portion which two can share or you can have enough for leftovers. There's lots of options. It also comes with soup or salad and two fried wontons. The free soup is a tom yum soup which is my fav. This free version may look super spicy but it's not spicy at all which is great for me and my stomach. Pad Thai has a great flavor. I've only had it once where the noodles were slightly under cooked but it was just the one time so I'll just chalk it up to a bad day. Pad see ew is solid too. My son tried the tom yum goong noodle soup which was just the tom yum soup with shrimp and your choice of noodles - egg, flat or thin (though I heard someone else say glass which made be super excited to try it next time). For this soup version, you can choose the spice level. My son got medium and it was still tolerable even for me. Though it did have a kick and sometimes it'd hit you in the back of the throat so I didn't wanna risk my stomach by eating too much of it. I've tried the egg rolls before and they're nothing special. The crab rolls though are where it's at. If you've ever been to a Chinese banquet where they served those fried seafood rolls - seafood mixture wrapped in bean curd and deep fried - with sweet and sour sauce, this is it. I haven't gotten them since I was a kid since it hasn't seem standard at all the banquets we've been to since so I was super excited to find this appetizer. Food is definitely worth a try and will keep you coming back despite the parking lot situation. Prices like I said are a little steep. We went for lunch, got three lunch menu items and the crab rolls and it came out to be like $75-80 before tip. I was honestly pretty surprised to see the mismatch between President Thai's high ratings and the quality of my experience. I will say that the lunch specials give you incredibly large, generous portions for a good price, but that doesn't mean the food is good. As soon as I saw the menu & the crossover between so many different types of Asian cuisines I knew it wasn't authentic. The papaya salad was not good at all. In the photo it is visibly NOT fresh, and it tasted like that, too. I honestly couldn't believe they were serving papaya that looked like that. President Thai, I salute you. . Wow, this place is super authentic. When we walked through the front door we were greeted almost right away and in Thai. I love good customer service. So it's always nice to be seen and greeted right away. We ordered their chicken coconut soup. Which was perfect in flavor and not too salty. It came with a perfect amount of chicken and mushrooms. And we got their pad see ew. The portions are big. So it's perfect for sharing. Their noodles were nice and fat. Charred and delicious. The place was super cute and filled up fast! We got there at 5pm on a Saturday and there was plenty of parking in the parking lot. But once we left around 6pm, the restaurant had filled up and so did the parking lot. President Thai's lunch specials are superior. I'd like to think they are one step above your typical Thai restaurant with their ambiance, service, and food. If you dine in for lunch, you get a complimentary bowl of chicken tom yum soup! They even have crushed ice for water which is always a plus. I specifically enjoy their three-flavor fish plate and my partner always gets the bbq beef plate. They both come with rice, veggies, and two ragoons. The green sauce that comes with the beef plate is so so good. You have to try it. I LOVE that they have their lunch specials even on the weekends. If you order from their lunch specials for take out, it comes with a complimentary side salad instead of soup. I don't often dine here for dinner but I do really enjoy their pad woon seen on their ale carte menu! We wanted to try a few new things besides our usual order of Lard Na, Seafood papaya salad, and crab fried rice; which are always great! Today we ordered the Spicy Soft Shell Crab and Stuffed Chicken Wings. The crab was good, but I think it's definitely an item that you have to eat at the restaurant and not get it to go because it became soggy when we got home. My BF wanted to stop chicken wings... He thought they were decent, but I didn't like them. The feelings just didn't go with the flavor, but it was definitely better with the dipping sauce. The menu is extensive and I always try to make an effort of trying a new dish each time I've gone. My favorite appetizer is the calamari. Had I had know they were so large we would not had order 9 different plates. Oh my gosh the coconut soup was the best I have had anywhere. The shrimp cakes delicious. The spicy beef salad was good though I have had better. Several of the items I did not eat only because I was full after the soup and shrimp cakes. Because besides the top having a little crab meat, it's only onions in the fried rice. Chicken Wet Sauce noodles (Lard Na)~This is my first time having this. I personally didn't like it too much. It was my friend's choice. It's with large flat noodles but they were always stuck together. So I didn't think the dish was prepared too well. Thai style Ground Pork with Fried egg~I was craving this dish, it was pretty good over all. We asked for no spicy. I was surprised they didn't give us rice. Service is very welcoming and attentive It can be pretty loud in there so it might be hard to talk with one another. Food is delicious and the portions are huge! The waitress brought over the four chili condiments, and my favorite was the one that resembled a watery sambal. All the dishes were really solid! My one minor critique is that the pad see ew was a little sweet for my taste, but adding the sambal helped. The mango sticky was so good! Mango was perfectly ripe and not stringy. The BBQ beef came with a cilantro sauce, and normally I hate cilantro, but the other flavors in the sauce canceled out the strong cilantro flavor and I actually enjoyed it a lot. The papaya salad was refreshing--sweet, sour, and tangy--with lots of squid but not much of the other seafood. The pad kee mao was my favorite; the flat noodles were cooked perfectly. The BBQ beef was tender with a nice grilled flavor. The dessert was a perfect ending, with sweet sticky rice and lightly fried bananas.
