I had been to the downtown location years ago, for a private birthday dinner and had a great time. Can't really say the same for the Carmel location. Some friends and I decided to come here for Devour Indy and of course it was packed. Seemed like they were short on servers because ours was all over the place helping people, which meant that we had to wait longer than expected just to put orders in. For starters: Prosciutto wrapped Shrimp & Calamari. Both were good. Drinks: Prime Cosmo. Delicious Dinner: 6 oz Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes, king crab. First, let me say that I knew in advance that the crab would be an additional $71 but (look at the photo) that was not worth the price at all. I was disappointed greatly and it could've used a little more seasoning. Lesson learned. I forgot to yelp before I ordered. Dessert: Chocolate chip cookie & Pretzel brownie. My 1st time dining at Prime 47, Carmel, Indiana for a friends Birthday. Graciously greeted by the valet at the front entrance and as we were early, waited in the bar area. After being seated in a private room for 25, we were greeted warmly by our 2 servers and started with wine and appetizers. I highly recommend the XXL prawns, meatballs and tomato slices with mozzarella and a touch of balsamic. All 3 were outstanding, followed by small house salad with house ranch. I had a very enjoyable Riesling and iced tea. We each ordered the 8oz med-rare Filets and found it to be the Best I've ever had in the past 50 years (sorry Ruth's and Sullivans). Simple family style sides of mashed spuds, buttered mushrooms and fresh garlic asparagus spears. The dessert trays offered many choices and even the circus favorite of 3 foot high pink cotton candy, was a big hit with young'ins and gray hairs, too. Where do I start in this great experience. Food fantastic - crab dip appetizer, wedge salad and a very flavorful Filet with the do not miss Risotto. I have to be completely Gluten free and the menu was well marked and I felt great after eating. Atmosphere was really nice and staff were super friendly and helpful. We had table reservations but were having such a great time in the bar we stayed. College basketball on the TVs, fun bartenders and then to top it off a Lovely duo came to play live and were very good musicians. I went to Prime 47 on Easter for their buffet brunch. Immediately I noticed how dim the lighting was, it was so dark and gloomy in there. The vibes were off. The buffet was really tasty! They had a variety of breakfast (fruit, smoked salmon, eggs Benedict, French toast, sausage, biscuits & gravy, etc.) and lunch foods (mac n'cheese, salmon piccata, ham, steak, chicken Marsala, buttered corn, and mashed potatoes). For desert they had a nice set up of colorful macarons, cake, and other goodies. I have some negatives to share: 1) It was EXTREMELY crowded- the buffet line took so long and never got shorter since more people just kept jumping in line. 2) Our waiter was trying to hurry us- he brought out the check before we were even done eating our first plate of food. Pretty rude and I've never had that happen to me before. It just seemed like they wanted to get as many people as possible in & out of there ASAP so they can make more money from the $54/person price. First of all, it's a buffet so obviously we're going to get more than one plate of food & second of all, we hadn't even asked for the check before he brought it out. I won't be back here. read more

Service was excellent and very comfortable seating. We basically had a huge booth for the two of us and all clear on one side of the restaurant. Aaron was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had great conversations, which we appreciated. The food was ok at the first bite and more and more I think back of my experience and at the end come to realized that I was quite disappointed in the steaks. For being prime, it was very bland, prime cuts should be more marbled and of course it did not state any aging which is key for high end meats. Delmonico ribeye was the leanest and thinnest cut I've had. You can compare to the Delmonico steakhouse such as in Las Vegas and order the signature, it's a bit different. The bone in filet was flavorless again, didn't have enough char essence or again should of been aged for $75. Not because I'm a chef but my 16 year old son can smoke and high fire grill off prime rib caps and filets just rub evoo salt and black pepper, from Costco on a Traeger and it's 10x better than any steaks tonight. Lucky we didn't spend more money on their Australian wagyu or A5. Wa meaning Japan, Gyu meaning beef. "Wah-guu" not "Wag-guu". Truffle butter we had discussed, tasted and definitely had blue cheese in there somehow. Brandy peppercorn was peppery tasty but didn't have hints/aroma of brandy. Truffle fries, standard. Went here for my birthday dinner this evening for the first time, and if I could give it six stars I would. From our excellent waiter to the entire staff and then New York Strip steaks and lobster that we're some of the best I've ever had! Also, really liked how everybody worked as a team from the meter deed to the waiters and managers. The martinis were great. The wedge salad was wonderful, we ordered extra blue cheese dressing. The stuffed chicken breast, stuffed with Gouda and Brie was not as good as I make. Brought some home and my adult daughter wouldn't finish it as it lacked any taste. Definitely needed salt and herbs. When the wedge salad is better than the entree it's time to remove it from the menu. The live music which consisted of one guy was so very loud we had to shout at each other and finally just left. That also ruined the evening. Sadly the ambiance is good, wait staff is awesome. Parking is easy to find. If you are on a date stay away from the bar, it's way too loud! read more

After another restaurant last weekend poorly assembled an old fashioned, this one of Bulleit was excellent and full cocktail pour. We also enjoyed mineral water from San Pellegrino and Aquanna. My wife got the 6oz Filet Flatlocked (?) which is served on cast iron buttered platter. Mine was strip steak with horseradish/bleu cheese crust. Both were spot on with temperatures and she likes well done. Seldom do we get steak temp right for her, and this put the time/temp into her control. Crazy smart option. We ordered sides of Baker Potatoes which honestly we could have split between us. We also got a lightly steamed broccoli side dish that is served with Hollandaise sauce on the side. The vegetable was bright and fresh. The entree included house salad and fresh bread, and these too were well prepared and complimented with tomatoes and Onion and garnished with Balsamic dressing. After dinner we had a complimentary dessert which came unexpectedly... I am embarrassed to say, we consumed the hot ala mode cookie drizzled with chocolate syrup without breathing between bites. It was sinfully good.... Our serving team was Head waiter was Far, Food Server Mac and Table server Jacob... Floor manager Alex left us a card at the table. On a day that was amazing for for my wife and I becoming first time Grandparents, we thought we would head over to Prime 57 and enjoy. Walking in we were met by a snotty hostess, that merely went through the questions she was taught to ask. When my wife proudly replied "yes we are celebrating becoming Grandparents" the hostess replied "yeah, follow me" didn't listen to our request of nice sitting, she dropped the menus on the table and walked away. The first waiter came over, was a little nicer, taking our drink order and NEVER returned. We were able to waive down a nice waitress about 15-20 minutes later, who took care of use and tried to make The best of a terrible experience thus far. She did a great job and we were happy with her service. Food... I would say Average at best, we enjoy good food and will pay for it... this was not what we thought the food would have been for the steakhouse. Atmosphere... not what you would expect at all!!! Insanely loud and more of a bar grill experience, not even close to a good steakhouse. I would suggest Prime 57 to someone that is in a rush, wants a bar / grill type place, but certainly NOT a nice steakhouse relaxed atmosphere!!! We were celebrating my wife's birthday this evening, they had a birthday card for her and menus wishing her a Happy Birthday at our table.
