They then proceeded to place the returned pizza back into the warmer for the correct customer who walked in 3 minutes later...I would think if food went out and was returned, it would be reserved. I've been here maybe a dozen times now. This is organized as a by-the-slice restaurant, but they also sell full pies. There are always both round and square styles available. The squares of pan pizza aren't Detroit style, but similar. The round pies aren't New York or Naples, but they're kind of in between. The pizzas are delicious, with crispy crust under a perfect soft, slightly chewy bread, under rich, flavorful sauce, under lightly browned cheese and savory toppings. I like all of the choices on the limited menu, but my favorites are the spicy pepperoni and the white pie. The service is excellent, prompt, cheerful, and helpful. I've been helped by several people and all were very good. I opened Yelp to update my previous review, but I can't see it anymore. I've never met a pizza I didn't like and Prime is a welcome addition to the area for two reasons... their pizzas are unique and the restaurant is an actual pizzeria where you can comfortably dine-in. Not huge but a chill ambiance. I've tried them twice thus far: once for delivery and once to pickup a couple of slices. And yes, you can pickup slices on a Saturday evening as I did a couple days ago. Enjoy a beer while you're waiting if that's your thing too. I prefer vegetarian pizzas these days and their square slices are a must. When I swung by the other day the service was super helpful. Got a slice of Sicilian and Spicy Pepperoni (served as square slices.) Both were delicious. We especially appreciated that the square pizzas weren't too heavy on the crust. We called the restaurant ahead of time and turns out they have separate pans for their GF pizzas and as someone with celiac this is rare for a pizza joint, and so appreciated! Well, coming from the East Coast and being a pizza man myself, I can tell ya that Prime needs to tweak their cook time. This was the second time here and both times the pizza was over cooked. Pizza oven have hot spots in the bricks so pies need to be turned mid-way through the cook time. Prime doesn't turn their pizzas. The crust comes out burnt on one side and the whole pizza comes out too crispy. As the pie cools off at your table, the crust is not eatable without a code of marinara or a glass of wine. They were busy so it's hard give people a hard time when they are hustling and trying their best. Place is small with a few tables for eating there. We opted for pick-up instead. Hands down the best pizza in El Segundo and the entire South Bay! Prime Pizza has been rated in the top 3 best Pizza places in LA for quite a while now with their other stores and deservingly so! This is as close to NY pie as you're going to get west of I95! The Sicilian pizza is also incredible. The crust, cheese and toppings on both is perfect and it is hands down just awesome. Having lost Grimaldi's a while back, finally the South Bay has excellent NY pie back! Their Pasta's and Salad's are also legit! There seems to be a small number of negative reviews here that seem to be from a competitor or their "Fans", don't believe a word and don't buy into the negative reviews! As we all know, food is highly subjective but this pizza ain't! Slice & Pint has great beer but Prime has the superior pizza! New-ish pizza spot that opened up in El Segundo a few months ago. This is my new favorite local pizza spot! I love their square pizzas and especially their "Grandma" pie. Like when I'm craving pizza, I am specifically craving that flavor. Pizza is super tasty and not very greasy. Staff is great. Not a lot of seating available inside. I order from their website directly and show up before I get the notification that my order is ready and it's not just cold pizza because I didn't get there on time but cold pizza as in they don't even bother to heat it up. This place was so freaking good. I mean the people in there were SO nice, the prices were FANTASTIC, and the pizza was AMAZING. Like usually with this type of pizza you usually expect the same thing, but this was no mall pizza. The bottom of the pizza was crispy, while it was still thin, and it came out quicker than we thought it would. And the garlic knots?? ‍, garlicky, cheesy, amazing. No complaints. Pretty average pizza, taste is slightly better than domino's NY style but at 3x the price. First time ordering and here are my complaints; 1) Some parts of the pizza had 2 inches of crust, unacceptable. Felt like getting a 16" pizza. 2) Ordered extra cheese and I really had a hard time trying to figure out if extra cheese was added. My assumption is the extra cheese was somewhere around 20% extra so it was barely noticeable, not legitimate in my book of value especially when you are paying $3. 3) Pizza undercarriage was slightly undercooked. Not bad enough where it was inedible but definitely noticeable. Overall 3 stars is a generous rating. Definitely not worth the hype.
