**Review: Disappointing Experience - A Pizza Nightmare** I've been a regular at this El Segundo location, visiting several times for lunch, and I've always enjoyed the Spicy Sicilian square slice. It was consistently excellent. Today, however, my experience was entirely different--and unfortunately, it was a major letdown. After a positive history with their pizza, my wife and I decided to try a large cheese pizza for dinner. I placed the order, picked it up on my way home from Top Golf, and arrived just before it was finished. The pizza was "fresh out of the oven" when handed to me--at least that's what I was told after waiting about 10 minutes for it to be ready. The staff seemed overwhelmed and a bit stressed, but I tried to brush off the attitude of the cashier. After all, I understand that the place can get busy. Once we got the pizza home, however, the disappointment was immediate. The pizza was easily the worst I've had in years. It was, quite honestly, inedible--stiff as cardboard. You could hold a slice horizontally and it would stay perfectly rigid, like a piece of scrap material rather than food. This happened right after picking it up--5 minutes into the drive home. Even more baffling, the pizza remained in this sorry state. Those $2 frozen Totino's pizzas you can get at the store and bake at home? Far superior. Things didn't improve when we got home and my wife tried a slice. By that point, the pizza was so dry that even the thought of eating it felt absurd. We could only laugh at how bad it was--it was truly almost inconceivable. I'm willing to overlook a one-time error, but this was something else. There's no way the person who boxed up that pizza didn't realize it was more of a dried-out, tasteless disc than anything resembling a pizza. It's hard to imagine how this could happen unless one of the following was true: 1. **They can't make a decent thin-crust pizza**: My previous experiences with their thick-crust pizzas were fine, but this thin-crust pizza was beyond disappointing. If this is the case, I'd strongly advise against ordering their thin-crust pizza. 2. **The pizza had been sitting around for a while**: It's possible that this pizza had been made much earlier and was simply passed off to me, which would be completely unacceptable. 3. **I was given an old, discarded pie**: Maybe the staff gave me a pizza that had been sitting around for a long time--one that wasn't picked up earlier, and just reheated or left out until it was a sad, dry shell of what it should've been. None of these possibilities are acceptable, and after this experience, I can't see myself returning. Even if this was a one-off incident, it was so egregiously bad that it's hard to overlook. There's no excuse for a pizza that's this unappetizing to be served to a customer. I don't typically leave negative reviews. In fact, most of my reviews are positive, and I don't bother reviewing places unless I have a good experience. But this time, I couldn't let it slide. Affordable New York pizza! They have both round AND the Brooklyn square. The crust is thin an chewy, and the slices are floppy, almost foldable. We got half cheese, half sausage, and I believe the sausage is house-made. I wish the cheese pizza had more cheese on it, but that's personal preference - objectively, there's plenty of cheese. I wouldn't get the Buffalo Wings again, though. It's best to focus on their pizza. Worst customer experience I've ever had. I received an email saying my order was ready, so I went inside to pick it up. When I asked the person at the register, they told me they were still waiting on one item -- even though I could clearly see my name on a pizza box sitting on the rack near the counter. I decided to wait and sat down. After 40 minutes of waiting -- in an empty restaurant, with no updates -- I finally approached the two employees at the register, who had been standing there the entire time. Without saying a word, they grabbed my order off the shelf and handed it to me. It was the same food that had been sitting out for over half an hour. No apology, no explanation. By then, the pizza was cold -- and to make matters worse, part of the order was missing. But after nearly an hour of waiting, with my wife and baby in the car, I just didn't have the energy to deal with it. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time. It quickly turned into one of my favorite places to eat, close to work, quick service and the food was really good. on any given day I would give this place at least 3.5 stars if not better. That was until today... Today I bit into my chicken parmesan sandwich expecting the usual crispy breading with tender chicken breast but found that the breast meat seemed raw or maybe it was frozen too long because it was tough . Yes, the outside should be crispy on the chicken breast but the meat itself should not be crunchy and chewy. That was weird. Honestly I only ate a small portion and then had to put it down. It's disappointing when you are given the illusion of the options to make the crust crispy, and also to add basil, and then receive a pizza where neither options were applied. I wouldn't exactly call Prime a "chain restaurant", although they have several locations in L.A. Thankfully, they just put one in El Segundo (on Sepulveda of all places). After ordering a slice or two, I'd say Prime is the best Pizza in the South Bay. Generally, that's not a hard accolade to win, as only a couple of places in the area make good pies (but don't ask the locals their opinion--they have been starved of proper grease wheels for so long, they seem content with local pizza not much different than you'd find in a Trader Joe's frozen section). Prime delivers the goods (and delivers!) with both a NY-style thin crust and a Detroit-style pan pizza. Loved them both. Apparently, I'm not alone in that regard: within just a few months, they've been discovered and gotten crazy busy. Always order ahead, especially on the weekends. There are only a handful of tables, so good luck getting a seat. Salads are a bit weak (the Caesar is pretty anemic but passable), but you're just getting those to make yourself feel better about the carbs. With props to nearby Slice and Pint (which puts out a nice pie), Prime is now our go-to for great pizza in the area. An area that sorely needed it! read more

Huge fans of Prime Pizza! My son who is 4 yrs old and I stop by whenever we can since he loves the Grandma square slices. We ordered multiple pizzas and types for his birthday at a nearby park, and all of our guests enjoyed it. I also love how well the staff takes care of us. They are so sweet to check on us and make sure we love our food. Plenty of times when we're waiting and they will give my son a chocolate chip cookie on the house. This place is right off El Segundo Blvd where the old Valentinos used to be. Plenty of parking. I ordered a Meat Lovers Square Pie. Total was $35 after taxes and such (seems steep, but you will see that it was worth it). My pizza was supposed to be ready at 7:41 and I got there at 7:35. Didn't get my pizza until about 7:55. That is my only complaint. They did check on me though, and let me know they would bring it out to me when ready (They have some benches inside you can wait on). Grabbed my pizza and went home. How was it? AMAZING! Honestly, one of, if not the best pizzas I have had in the state of CA. Every single thing was perfect! The dough was nice and tasty, light and chewy, had some hint of yeast/sourdough flavor almost. The sauce was incredibly fresh, just tomatoes and some seasoning. The toppings were plentiful! Crisp cup pepperoni, homemade sausage and meatballs and some red onion! The outside edges had the crispy cheesy crust! After always passing this pizza spot and seeing how packed it gets, I finally decided to stop in and see what the hype was about. The atmosphere is fantastic, super chill vibes, very clean inside, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. You can tell they really care about their customers. There's plenty of parking, which is always a plus. However, the inside seating is pretty limited. If you're coming with a group, expect to sit outside because there just isn't much space indoors. Now, onto the food. The pizza slices are definitely bigger than average, but the prices match that... maybe a little too much. Unfortunately, the flavor didn't exactly stand out. The pizza was on the plain side, and the garlic knots were pretty bland, even with the marinara. For the price point, I expected more. On the bright side, the cookies were actually really good, and the Italian ice is a refreshing option if you want something sweet after the pizza. Definitely a highlight. Drink options are limited since there's no soda fountain, but they do offer free small cups of water you can refill, which is nice. I always come to the coffee shop next door to this and have been hesitant to try it mostly because I try avoid eating heavy during my lunch. I decided to give it a try and my overall opinion is, they're okay. I got two single slices the Sicilian & vodka. The slices were already in the case so I assumed they'd be handed to me at the counter, but I was handed a number and told to take seat. I hurried to get a drink from the coffee shop and was worried they came to look for me but couldn't since I wasn't at down. I went in to check like 10 mins after I got my iced tea and they informed me it was on its way still. I realized they were warming up the slices in an oven which I thought was cool cuz I'll get warm pizza but I kind of felt like it took longer than it should have to do so. The pizza finally came out and it was warm and crispy, just the way I personally like it! I personally feel like the pizza lacked a bit of seasoning on both slices. But they were still good to eat and finish for lunch. Out of the two, I'd say the Sicilian was the better one as the pesto sauce was a good touch. By far THEEE best pizza in the South Bay ! I ordered a pepperoni round pizza and I am giving the taste a 10/10. The cheese was soft and not overpowering the taste. They could be a little bit more generous with the pepperoni. Since I ordered takeout, the pizza was room temperature by the time I got there, however that's nothing your home appliances can't fix. I also tried their vodka pasta and lemon pepper wings which I'll give a 8/10. If you're planning a pizza family night, definitely try this place.
