Wonderful!!! Love the small plates for sharing. We had the scallop tostada, salad, chowder, bone marrow, carrots, and duck tacos. Everything was delicious. The duck tacos were out of this world!! Get them!! We had a crepe for desert. It was fantastic, but heads up, not small. Our waitress could have had a little better knowledge of drinks and dishes, but she was very nice. Great atmosphere. Trendy spot w great food and drinks. We came for a late weekend dinner and left very satisfied. Unfortunately we missed the happy hour, which has drink and food discounts daily. The standouts were the green salad and gnocchi. The green salad sounds basic but the parmesan and citrus vinegarette were amazing. We ordered the plain gnocchi (we were a lil tapped out on lobster by this point) - the perfectly cooked gnocchi and simple seasoning were perfect together. The grilled halloumi & heirloom tomato salad was a twist on traditional caprese, but I didn't love the thicker,denser cheese. The ribs, brussel sprouts, and fish were good but not amazing. Came here for dinner and the set up was nice, and service was good. Dishes are small and you'll probably have to order 2-3 per person. We went with some oysters which tasted fresh, the ceviche which had a little kick to it and a good amount of shrimp, scallops that had a good purée served with them, pork belly which also had a cheese purée that was really good, duck tacos that tasted more like a birra taco but overall good, mussels with pork which tasted fresh and the sasusage tasted good as well, and some lamb meatballs which were juicy. This place was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. If you're looking for amazing cocktails and small plates this place is for you. We had a round of drinks and one small plate and we were back two hours later for more. Our favorite cocktails were the midnight and rising sol. This was by far the best meal we have had in awhile. The restaurant had been open for only four days in the new season (they have been around for awhile), and service was smooth, tight, and friendly. The food was exceptional. Tuna Poke with rice crisps was divine. The Brava's potatoes were crispy and flavorful and just delicious. My husband had the Lamb Kofka done just right. The Smoked Trout dip was the perfect blend of flavor, zing and crunch. An exceptional meal all around. They could not have done anything better. This restaurant truly impressed my wife and I. We consider ourselves foodies since the majority of our activities we do center around delicious food but little did we know that the reviews on yelp do not do the food justice. Everything we ate was outstanding and unbelievably creative. At the end of the meal we were practically licking the plates. We really enjoyed that the menu is designed to be shared and that makes the experience that much better. There are few things I know that are better then sharing a delicious meal with someone you care about. They atmosphere is fun and service is friendly and prompt. Four star for the food. ZERO star for the service. All the foods are pretty nice but basically all the stuff are tapas. I was expecting that it would also offer some entry like pasta. We left half full in the end because of the terrible service. New England clam chowder is good but it was not served with any bread.... Seriously I was astonished to see a restaurant doing this. It's like, are you expecting us to drink the chowder by itself? What really pissed me off is the TERRIBLE service. We sat outdoors. Our waitress, a lady in orange dress, would only check with us like half an hour. I literally don't know what she was doing or where she were. When I asked for help from another waitress in black dress, she just said, "oh your waitress will be here soon." AND refused to help us...Huh! What a group of united and friendly restaurant staff! We asked for more bread for the mussels because we thought the soup was ok. We waited there for half an hour. Nothing came. We told our waitress about that. She never said sorry. She said she would check with the kitchen. And then another half hour passed. Nothing came!!!! We just got so furious and then wrote the check and decided to leave. That's when the bread came. I told the server that we have been waiting for the bread (just like four pieces of thin bread) for a long time and now we already wrote the check (indicating that we would not pay for the bread). She didn't say sorry. She just said, "OK." And left and she gave the bread to our next table. Hey! We were still sitting at table. A reasonable server would just give us the bread as a way of apology. Not saying that we needed the bread. But this restaurant had no courtesy at all. We got our bill as thought a price for a drink was a price we were quoted but they added on $3 to each drink I had 3 drinks. They added $9 additional dollars to our bill. I love how they sort of bring out what's ready when it's ready. It's Bar Harbor. Who's in a rush anyway? Apart from being a place you tell your friends is terrible (sadly, it's not, it's amazing, especially with no cruise ships, although that's brutal for the local economy so eat out as much as you can people!) you don't really come to the coast if you are in a rush. Love the pork belly and the crepes. The shishito peppers were some of the best we've had (get two orders, less fighting with your significant other). read more

My wife and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat and immediately fell in love with this place. We can only attest to the smoked ham crepe since we both had the same thing but it was fantastic, It was accompanied by potato bravas and some lightly dressed mixed greens. Super good! We sat at the bar on a Tuesday night around 7:30PM. The food came out quickly! The Botanist Gin and Tonic was superb. I did wonder a little about the burnt or wilted thyme/rosemary twig. The smoked trout dip was a little on the dry side but the green dip mixed in beforehand may have made it better. The music was excellent! They were playing lounge beats/deep house on a apple music playlist. Oysters with the green apple mignote ? went well. The fall salad was my favorite too. I enjoyed the steak kabobs and the chowder. I think the lobster crepe would have been tastier if it wasn't so dry. The cheese was melted but solidified by the time it got to me, the lobster was overcooked, but the crepe was done nicely. Just missing the finishing touches. Our server/bartender was great. She was making drinks and serving through a window to those who were seated outside. I think this is a solid A-OK. If I was in college, I would come here a lot. It's got great vibes, really hip aesthetics. Friendly servers. I came here with the aim to just try out their drinks. I swung by during covid happy hour (everyday 3-5). $2 off specialty drinks, wine, and drafts. I got a Mediterranean trio and two drinks, the Midnight and the Punch in a Tea. They had indoor open air seating. Customers could use the QR code to look at the menu on their phones. I have been admiring how technology inside restaurants have advanced in this time. The happy hour bites are as expected. Sliced warm pita with some dips for the Mediterranean trio. The Midnight was a messy drink. The stem had blackberry juice splashes. The cup looked not clean -- not in the sanitary sense, but in a sense that someone with an unsure hand didn't quite know how to make a drink. My companion overheard the bartender say that they were primarily a barista and was still learning how to make the cocktails. I had the punch in a tea. It was really cute, being served in a tea cup. I think my younger self would have found this place super adorable. This may be a good place for young adults to hang out. Cool outdoor and indoor seating. read more

The hostess was a bit confused, and said that they weren't taking down names and we just had to wait in line until they had availabilities. I loved my cocktail, not too sweet and just enough alcohol. Our first consisted of the pork belly with grits, both of which I felt were pretty bland. The pork belly was super soft and came apart while cutting it! I just wished it had more flavor, and I couldn't even tell there was cheese in the grits. The lobster crepe was a little bland as well. One of the most memorable meals of the year - this place deserves 10 stars. The tapas restaurant is situated on main street and you have the option of dining on the cozy enclosed patio or anywhere in the yard lined with trees and cute/kitschy decor. The bar is in the heart of the house as are a few more tables. Every dish was so delicious and unique....I even loved the carrots and I usually hate them! The options were plentiful but whatever you do, make sure to end your meal with a crepe a la mode! Our server, Ben, rounded out an amazing experience - he was phenomenal - providing just the right amount of attention without being overbearing. He stopped by to describe each dish as they arrived, and got you whatever else you needed without delay and made some great recommendations both from the menu and for things to do in bar harbor. We also really liked the seafood chowder. The kale and Brussels was a solid salad as well. We kept passing The soups back-and-forth and couldn't decide which we liked better. Super friendly staff that even got us blankets to use to enjoy our outdoor meal. The tapas are amazing here so we asked what was best. We started with poke rolls which were fresh clean had a bit and the cucumber add a crunch it needed. We got to talk to chef about how wonderful it was and then got our caldera salad. The one type of cheese is grilled so it's warm and almost had a texture or meat to me and I loved it. It's a recipe I want to try myself someday! Next we got the mussels and pork belly based on recommendation from our amazing waiter. I don't like beans but the purée under the pork sent me to heaven and is something I wanna try for a meal. The pork was crispy but the sauce has a sweetness that all melted together. I'm a stickler for good mussels because sometimes the sauce can taste to much like wine but this had just enough flavor but didn't take away from the seafood. Right off the bat, I'd say the pork belly (9/10) is better than the lobster crepe (8/10). Friends had the lobster roll and all of them liked it, except one said that it was too salty. The chowder (7/10) was soothing but it had some fish that definitely was cooked too long. Strange too, that the chowder was a bit lukewarm. Their orange sauce (10/10) for the potatoes was great though! But the place was great! The door was open so there was a bit of draft, they had blankets for people to use!
