I've been coming here since 2015 and when they first opened and the food was great. The service is still good too. However, over the years, the quality of the food began to dip. For example, they've since expanded their menu and now make pizza (I've never tried their pizza, so I can't say if it's good or bad). Today I ordered a chicken kabob plate and the chicken was literally raw; I threw it out. I also ordered a salmon plate (which I order all the time) and the salmon was overcooked and didn't seem fresh. The worst thing is to have an overcooked salmon. The used to also add corn to their rice which was really nice, but since stopped and the cucumber salad was not fresh. I absolutely love when I come across a new place through yelp, and it's exactly worth the 5 stars. Ordered the steak a chicken entrée (includes rice, corn, salad, slice of pita bread, a roasted tomato, and for a nice treat- some jalapeños on the side). I've never actually been to Rafos but I've had their BBQ at birthdays and other events and it is AMAZINGLY GOOD, especially their boneless chicken kabob it is to die for. It has all the right spicy but it's not overdone and they cook it enough so that its tender but not dry. Most of their kabobs I've had they been delicious. The donor kabob plate was awesome! The meat is full of flavor. Rice was perfectly cooked and oiled. The right amount of humus and yogurt dish. I'm not sure how it is being in the environment...but the food must be phenomenal or something because over the phone the employees and manager at Rafo's cafe are incredibly rude, curt, and had the audacity to speak down to me, raise their voice at me, as well as not take accountability for their mistake on my over-the-phone order. I NEVER knew it was even possible for their employees and especially the manager to talk to customers the way they spoke to me. What I asked was simple : please have two SEPARATE checks for two SEPARATE orders. I spoke clear and concisely, and made sure the employee on the phone understood me. They had messed this up a time before so I made sure he understood. Come to find out, they didn't, and they instead blamed it on my driver who picked up the order. My driver asked for the orders under two separate names, and they came up with one single check, just like last time. They were INCREDIBLY rude and brash with my driver...and refused to give him a receipt. (Which our clients requested.) I called the cafe and told them the problem, and how upset we were this happened a second time, and that my driver needed the receipt. The man on the phone was so rude -- I have never had anyone in the restaurant industry talk that way to me before -- EVER. He told me I was wrong and he did everything right. He blamed it on my driver. He verbatim said "Why does it matter? You paid with cash anyways." IT MATTERS BECAUSE IT WASN'T MY MONEY. IT WAS OUR CLIENT'S. He raised his voice at me over the phone, continuously cut me off, and proceeded to tell me how I was in the wrong. Absolutely horrified, I asked him "Can I speak to you manager?" and he said "I AM the manager." I proceeded to say, "Then if you're the manager, I don't know how you guys stay in business with talking to your customers this way." I kept telling him to give my driver the receipt -- and again and again, he kept cutting me off or raising his voice. They were so terrible to my driver, that my driver was nervous to go back in the cafe for the receipt... He got it from them, but not without extreme hesitation because of how they acted toward him. So, all in all, we will not be ordering from them again. And from here on out, no matter how good the food is, I will advise anyone, including our clients, against ordering from this place until their customer service is polished, and the employees and the manager are thoroughly educated on how to properly treat their customers, especially when they make a mistake. read more

I had their Calzone three times, pretty good although the last time there was a gross piece of the oven or something that smelled bad that got stuck to the bottom of my calzone and I haven't been back since. They crank up the ac and have a tv there if your eating alone, it's alright. They did have a broken toilet seat. Average place. read more
