I always passed by the rainforest cafe in Sawgrass Mills and it reminds me of my childhood when this was located in Sunset Place many moons ago. I gave it a try and was slightly disappointed. The service was ok. I saw my waitress once and the manager brought my check. At first glance of the menu I saw that the prices were Disney world prices for such a limited menu. I ended up getting the fish tacos for price ($17) and size since I wasn't too hungry. The black beans were ok and the fish tacos were not good. It was blackened which tasted fine but the tortilla seemed stale like it's been in storage for 5 years. I've been to other restaurants that cost less with more options that are all super tasty. This place didn't cut it. It was not awful but it wasn't a place I would like to visit again. The positive is how immersive it is with all the decorations but it's a cheap looking place that gives a minor Disney illusion but with such a high cost. read more

I went because it was my daughters birthday, I already had low expectations with the food but my expectations should've been even lower. My drink was too sweet, I couldn't finish it, I also was not able to finish the fish tacos I ordered they weren't good. I had a side order of French fries that tasted old, a side order of veggies that seemed to have been microwaved too long. And the volcano cake was hard. The service was not bad, our waiter was nice and other staff members I interacted with were also nice. The kids seemed to be amused by the fish and decor. Went last week on Jan 4th at 8pm, tables were all reserved and we couldn't get a seat so went to the bar. Mind you, I haven't been to this location in over 15 years from a 13 year old boy to a 28 year old man now. I wanted to experience it at least in some capacity so I sat at the bar. I waited for 30 minutes for the bartender to come and take my order and he didn't even acknowledge me or my girlfriend, nor take anything down for us! Not even water! I am extremely disappointed and never have I ever waited 30 minutes at the bar waiting for the bartender to ask what we want. I got up and left! Never again! read more

After 20 years of living in S.Florida I finally had dinner at Rain Forest Cafe in sawgrass. When we arrived we were told that the wait time was 2 hours and 45 minutes. We decided to do some shopping so it wasn't too bad. When we finally got called to come in we noticed that the restaurant was pretty much empty. The decor is obviously outstanding, specially when you come with kids. It is really impressive when they have the thunderstorms and how the animals are moving and making noises. We really loves that. Our waitress was EXTREMELY sweet and caring. She walked us through the menu and made suggestions so she really gets 5 starts. The reason for my low raining was how long it took for everything to come out. The food took over an hour to get to our table. Our waitress explained that they were a bit busy and really understaffed which we totally understand given the situation across the country, but other tables that came after us were getting their food before us. Once the food arrived I must say that the burgers looked and tasted great. The shrimp tacos however were a complete letdown. They are batter fried so they were soggy from the amount of time it took for it to come out. The taco shell was also so soggy that every time I picked up a taco the bottom would tear and all the food would come out onto the plate. I had originally asked for the sauce to come on the side and it didn't arrive with the food so I asked the runner if he could bring it and he said he would be right back with it but he never showed. Our waitress came by around 20 minutes after the food was served and I had to once again ask for the sauce as well as extra taco shells so I could put my own tacos together. By that time I was barely hungry anymore and more frustrated than anything. Then we asked for dessert which also took about 35 minutes to arrive. I wanted to get a coffee but I skipped it and went straight to Starbucks which is right in from because I wasn't going to wait another 20 minutes for coffee. This place is really about the experience. The menu is very limited, not many allergy friendly options. It took us 2.5 hours to get through what we thought would be a quick lunch. Over 1.5 hours to get our food, then my kids plates came out with hot fruit (meaning the whole plate was sitting under the warmer for a while). My husband's food came out cold and had to be remade. They completely forgot to make mine (a salad)! The manager and waitress were very apologetic and nice. They did comp my husband's meal and gave us a free dessert, which is why I'm giving 3 instead of 2 stars. They tried to make it right, but it was not somewhere I'd go back to. I'm giving it 2 stars because I liked the dim atmosphere. This place is so incredibly overpriced. My husband had the Python pasta and it was half the size of an *Applebees* portion for $25!! My steak ($30) tasted like metal, zero seasoning. The side of fresh vegetables? Overcooked and left me with sand/dirt in my teeth. Their mashed potatoes were amazing though! They were out of slider buns, so the kids had a burger patty cut in half on a regular size buns. I went here for lunch while visiting sawgrass mill mall. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. I would usually get a burger but I had one the day before. It was also a little before noon and I was craving breakfast. I'm any event, I decided on the turkey club with fries and an Arnold Palmer. The food took quite a bit of time. I think we awaited 30 mins or more. The sandwich was huge it came with turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and mayo. It was delicious. The bread was toasted just right and everything on the sandwich was fresh. The fries were cooked to perfection. The service was good. The waiter was very attentive. He would bring things prior to us asking. Always one step ahead. I also love the rainforest cafe experience. The apes, birds, fish, etc. is always a good time. Family of 5 visited to celebrate our daughter's graduation and left disappointed! The wait was not bad, our server was super sweet, however the quality of the meals were so poor, I had a taco salad, ground beef tasted like it just came out of the fridge cold and old, shredded cheese tasted like plastic, romaine lettuce old and dirty, and they served it with some vinaigrette that does not go with a taco salad! Daughter's chicken Cesar was served with pink not cooked enough chicken breast, my son had a kids meal chicken breast, rice, and fries with orange slices, rice was super hard, not cooked enough, other daughter had a flat bread pizza that tasted like a cheap frozen style she said, and my husband had the pot roast dish that was just ok, didn't bother to order desserts to celebrate due to the bad foods we tried having! I didn't complain as we were eating not to embarrass our teens lol, anyone that has kids knows what I mean, and was told the restaurant isn't doing well and planning on closing so another reason why I just didn't feel like it. Experiential dining! We recently spent some time at the Sawgrass mall and as a reward for the kids being so well behaved we took them to the rainforest cafe. First let's talk about the pros. We ate a little later (230) so there was virtually no wait and for the 5 mins we did wait the kids got to check out all the amazing things this place offers. The animatronics, the toy in the gift shop and the amazing fish tanks! We got called over and we got to walk under the giant fish tank to the hostess desk who grabbed some menus and brought us over to our table. The atmosphere in this restaurant is awesome for kids. The noises, the plants, animals, more fish tanks, sparkling stars on the ceiling. There is nothing left to the imagination and you feel truly immersed in the jungle. The waitress was also great. Attentive and made sure we got everything we needed. Now on to the cons. Let's start with the most important thing, the food. It wasn't not good, it was plain bad. We started with cheese sticks (8 sticks for $10) and these were straight from the frozen bag into the fryer. Nothing special about them. As a matter of fact, it was like the 5 on the bottom were made when we ordered and the other three were leftovers because they were solid cheese versus that pull you get in a hot cheese stick. Then we moved on to the main courses. I got the pulled pork burger. Pork was decent but a little burnt, the burger itself had no flavor and the bun was over toasted and WAY too buttery. Fries weren't hot but they were fine. My wife got the fried shrimp. They leave the tails on them so you have to pull them off. And one of them was actually a piece of chicken they thought was shrimp. She bit into that and instantly spit it out. My son got the kids burgers and after a couple bites said he didn't want anymore which is weird because my son loves cheeseburgers. I took a bite of one and quickly understood. It tasted like mush and had zero flavor. The only one who enjoyed their meal was my daughter who got the kids Mac N cheese. Hard to mess up microwave Mac n cheese. For the prices they charged, i would've expected a better quality of food. It's sad because i don't remember this place being this bad. Phyllis was our server.... amazing!! , The Redfish Potosina and the Amazon Fajitas are also amazing. The red fish Potosina a new dish(seasonal) consisted of a whole deboned Redfish with a shrimp and fish ceviche on top and Somebof the best tasting rice with a side of asparagus spears was a signature dish for me I could possibly eat this every day if I could.The flavors were all that I needed in a meal. My wife had the The Amazon fajitas they were chicken and steak With rice and beans as well as lettuce tomatoes sour cream With tortillas on the side, We're all a great addition to our limited rainforest Café menu. Phyllis our server was the star of the show making everything come together as well as offering a laugh to lighten up the atmosphere, Which was pretty stressful just getting off of a flight and arriving in Florida from California. This is my second visit within a month. The first time the service was good but food was inedible. I chalked it up to a bad day. My kids still enjoyed. Second visit, family was in town. My kids suggested going back. I begrudgingly made the reservation for 2:45 (see picture), wasn't seated until 3:20. This is unacceptable. The hostess was rude and offered no apologies, help, service, etc. I went with chicken tenders, like a toddler, and was still underwhelmed. I'm most likely never going back. Today I went to Rainforest Cafe for a birthday lunch. For starters, this feels like a place you would go for lunch at Disney world. Very well decorated, but serves overpriced poor quality food. The cafe was not at max capacity due to COVID-19 guidelines. Yet, we waited one hour and 10 min for our food. The only thing I liked from my order was the strawberry daiquiri, other than that, the Korean spicy chicken tasted like microwaved food with chicken nuggets. The pasta had an interesting kick, and not in a good way. I give this two stars because there was nothing to like about Rainforest Cafe. This is a great restaurant for a birthday the fish tanks and the animatronics were cute. There was a huge gift shop near the dining area. The staff was very kind and it wasn't a long wait to get a table but you do have to reserve a table online. The food was very good. It was noisy due to the animals making noise every couple of minutes and the occasional thunderstorm but other than that I would go back again. 8/10 read more

Probably not the nicest culinary experience in the world, but if you are in the Sawgrass Mills and you have small children, eating here is not a bad ideia. Lots of stuffs to keep the kids entertained, menu has some nice, although a bit pricey, options, portions are pretty large and service is ok. I would not mind eating here again, since I have a toddler and shopping at Sawgrass its such an exhausting experience that is nice being able to have a reasonable table service meal to cool off. And although not super cheap, there are other much more expensive restaurants at Sawgrass. read more

The only thing good here was the Raspberry lemonade, and I still don't recommend that since you pay 9$ for a souvenir glass you probably don't need. The spinach artichoke dip, was extremely salty, and had no artichokes. I got the Rasta Pasta. It came with alfredo sauce. As the dish was placed, it smelt of vomit. Something about the broccoli with pepper with alfredo I guess. The penne was overcooked, while the broccoli was undercooked. My husband got the steak and shrimp. My first visit to the rainforest cafe, and I'd recommend it if you were taking kids there. As adults, the atmosphere is nice for the first while but it does wear out. The lights flicker on and off, which becomes distracting (maybe this is more a reflection of being in my older years). Food and service was average. It's been a few years since we visited this location, and I am officially changing my rating from 1 star to 5 stars!! First, the service was great! We had Danielle as a server, and she did a wonderful job checking on us, filling our glasses up, and making sure that our kiddos were happy. When our little man, Everest, would throw his items on the floor, she would immediately pick them up and give them back to him (he thought it was a game and she was a great sport ). The manager, also, checked in on us before we left. The food was a LOT better this visit then the last time we visited. My wife ordered the Taco Salad and said that it was delicious! I ordered the Korean Chicken Stir Fry and it was excellent! As a suggestion, I would love to see the Korean Stir Fry with steak. Our boys ordered Chicken Nuggets and Grilled Cheese. They must have enjoyed it because most of it was gone when it was time for us to leave. I'm super happy that we decided to give this establishment a second shot. Lunch time at Rainforest Cafe found my daughter and I ordering appetizers. A day before Thanksgiving, the Sawgrass Mills Mall was surprisingly slow. Arriving a bit after 1 p.m., we were quickly seated and waited about 5 minutes for a server. Provided menus, it took another 5 minutes for our server to return with water. Hungry - but not too hungry - we decided on the Awesome Appetizer Adventure, which included chimi-cha-chas, spinach and artichoke dip, cheese sticks, chicken strips, guacamole and tortilla chips, along with an appetizer order of Fried Pickles, which included crispy fried pickles served with a jalapeno ranch sauce. Water (with lemon) served as our beverage. Our appetizer order took almost 25 minutes to arrive at the table. Although tasty, the Fried Pickles could be a potential problem for those ordering as they were laced with fried onion strips. Onion or onion strips were not listed as an ingredient item on the menu. The "Awesome Appetizer Adventure" was nothing more than standard appetizer fare. It rated "okay" on my satisfaction chart. Great atmosphere and decor - friendly and polite (yet slow) service. One of the worst restaurant service experiences ever. We (party of 6) had reservations for 5:30. We were told we needed to wait while they set the table up even though there were at least 5 other suitable tables empty and available. After several repeated status inquiries we were finally seated at 5:50 but then had to wait another 7-8 minutes before a server came by (again the restaurant was only about 2/3 filled). Seizing our opportunity we ordered both our drinks and dinners. Drinks arrived in a reasonably timely manner and about 15 minutes later two of the entrees arrived. After another 5 minutes another two arrived. And then the last couple who were sharing an entree waited and waited and waited until I finally got up from my meal to flag down a manager and asked him what was going on? He apparently went to the kitchen where that last entree finally arrived but with the steak rare when it been ordered "no pink." This about 30 minutes after initially ordered. And at no time did the initial server ever come back to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything else (meals were delivered by runners not the server). We only saw her when we were anxious to pay the check and leave. Rainforest seriously needs to revisit their entire service staff training (or perhaps they don't even offer any). read more

Our waiter quickly came and took our orders. Kids place there's and we place ours. They told us walk around the place. Long story short. The kids had a blast. Food came quick and tasty.
