Overall, the experience was very pleasant. I'd probably go back more often if it weren't for the parking fee at UnCommons, which still feels silly for a local strip mall. Service: (5/5) Jarred was our server, and he mentioned he was from the original San Diego location. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient throughout the night. I also really appreciated that they remembered my birthday, from the host to the server, everyone acknowledged it, which made the experience feel extra thoughtful. Ambiance: (5/5) Classic, low key, and fun. It's the perfect spot for date night, group dinners, or after-work catchups with friends. Food: (4/5) We enjoyed most of the dishes, though a few were just okay. 1. Caesar salad (5/5) -- I personally loved it, though some of my friends thought there was a bit too much pecorino. 2. Beef tartare (5/5) -- It looked simple, but the flavor was clean, authentic, and very well executed. 3. Steamed clams (4/5) -- Very tasty, though I personally prefer clams in a white wine sauce. 4. Shrimp cocktail (3/5) -- The shrimp didn't taste especially fresh, and we weren't fans of the Old Bay seasoning on top. 5. Parker House rolls (4/5) -- We ordered two rounds. The second batch came out a little too salty, but overall they were great. Slightly pricey for bread, in my opinion. 6. The Executive Board (4/5) -- We ordered this as our entrée and added extra lamb chops. My friends especially enjoyed the lamb chops. The steaks were very good overall, though some of the end pieces were slightly overcooked. 7. Potatoes, mushrooms, and broccolini (5/5) -- All the sides were delicious. 8. Butter cake (4/5) -- Very good, but a touch too sweet for me personally. 9. Bananas Foster cheesecake (4/5) -- Unique, interesting, and delicious. We came to Rare Society for Restaurant Week after having a great experience on a previous visit, but unfortunately this visit was disappointing. The Caesar salad arrived with a hair in it. Our server apologized and offered to replace it, which we appreciated, but it took about 15 minutes for the new salad to arrive. The second course was decent, but the pacing of the meal continued to be very slow. For the entrée, I ordered my ribeye medium, but it came out rare and heavily charred on the outside. The asparagus side dish was also undercooked, essentially raw in the center with only a hard char on the exterior. The service was the biggest issue of the evening. We requested a soda that didn't arrive until nearly the end of dinner, and our server rarely checked back on the table. Nobody followed up regarding the steak temperature or the overall dining experience. As for dessert, the selections felt very basic. We took them home and ultimately didn't even try them. It's unfortunate because our previous visit was excellent. This experience lacked both the food quality and service standards we expected, especially during Restaurant Week. read more

We celebrated our anniversary at this amazing establishment last night. It is "restaurant week" here in Las Vegas and they definitely have the best menu of all the restaurants listed in Las Vegas! Although pretty pricey the food was outstanding with everything made from scratch! Our server told us this is their 7th location with the original one in San Diego and all of them owned by the chef himself. It was a very busy night and apparently they have a happy hour from 4-6 as the bar was already full when we arrived with people partying in full swing! It does get a little noisy when full but there is a patio if you want it quieter if you don't mind the heat! Wine selection is somewhat limited by the glass but nice selection of full bottles. The Caesar salad and rolls were excellent! Followed by a very nice presentation of shrimp cocktail on ice. The half artichoke was grilled and served with a spicy side sauce. We both had the filet mignons as our main course and shared the sides which were more than enough. Personally although the steak was a good quality there was too much sea salt on the top and I found it a little dry which I'm assuming was because it was aged. The desserts were outstanding and the waitstaff very personable and accommodating. A lot of attention to detail and we will definitely be back! Dinner for two with wine was $300 but on their regular menu would be around $400 for our meal! read more

Make sure you save room for dessert- the banana foster cheesecake is heavenly. It's great to have a high end steak house not in the strip located at The Uncommons. We were extremely pleased with the food and service. The decor is nice, kinda new age but with warm wood accents to try and give it a modern steakhouse feel. We made for an early dinner at 5pm and were quickly sat when we arrived, the restaurant was a little empty but then quickly filled up. Glad we had made the reservations. Our server made a few recommendations that he said quickly sells out so if we want to try them best to order it. Appetizers: dozen oysters. Half west coast , half east coast. And Parker rolls. The oysters were delicious and fresh. The Parker rolls were buttery salty soft goodness. Highly recommend. Mains: we decided to go with the executive board, so we could get a nice sampling off ther steak offerings and we are big backs, so we wanted the extra food haha. 10/10 recommend. We ordered it medium rare, came out perfect temperature, juicy tender cuts or meat and bone marrow to boot. Explained the menu to us, told us the most popular sides etc. Since we were new to the place, we got the executive platter, which is a bone in aged ribeye, bone in NY strip and a filet. Total weight after boning was about 38 oz. We all had it and it went, but we each had enough. We added 3 sides, asparagus, mushrooms and the au gratin potatoes. Our server told us they only make so many a night and there was 8 left! All the sides were delicious. Meat was tender and they slice it up and serve on a lazy Susan so you can swivel the meat you want right in front of you For apps we had the hamachi Crudo and fettuccine Alfredo. We stopped in on Sunday evening and it was a bit busy for a table and we did not have a reservation. They did allow us to seat at the bar and order dinner. The bartender who then was also our server Jessica was amazing. She described literally every item on the menu and did a great job with suggestions. We ended up with the platter of different meats and sauces - The Associate. All of these were absolutely delicious, cooked, medium rare. We also ordered a side of whipped potatoes. Those were equally delicious. We weren't quite sure what type of wine to get so Jessica called on the sommelier to assist us. A welcome surprise was that we could put a bottle of wine off the list to try and then only get a glass each. He helped us a Cabernet, which was perfect with our meal. This location is located near Durango Casino. We were perfectly comfortable at the bar although if it was a little chillier, it might be uncomfortable because they're quite busy and the door was opening and closing often. Otherwise, each seat at the bar had a good view to one of the televisions, and we enjoyed watching the end of the Sunday night football game with a glass of Sambuca. We had some time tonight and wanted to get away from the strip properties. We saw this highly rated restaurant, Rare Society, which is fairly new and part of a small chain of restaurants. We had no reservation, and came in at 7:30pm hoping to sit at the bar as is our usual. After a short wait, 2 seats opened up and we were in business! The restaurant inside is very pleasing to the eye, fits its price point, extremely busy, and has a good vibe. Our Bartender was Tony, and he provided excellent service throughout including during a mishap out of his control. The drinks were fantastic, well thought and even really good suggestions came from Tony on how to craft a drink to our liking. As far as the food, the appetizers we selected were the broiled oysters and steamed clams. Tony suggested the bacon instead of the oysters. We should have taken that advice and passed on those oysters because they were not very good at all, overpriced, and unremarkable. The clams on the other hand was one of the best clam dishes we've had and the flavor was simply outstanding! It was so good that we even started to eat the broth like a soup after we polished off the clams, it was that good! To the entrees and this is where superior service separates marginal from top notch. We had quite a wait, about an hour between the appetizers and entrees. We understand this can happen, especially on a Saturday night in an overflowing popular restaurant. The pork tomahawk and the steak when they came were both visually appealing, had amazing flavor, and would have skyrocketed our rating to 10 stars. However, both were lukewarm, as if it was cooked and sat with the steak less than room temperature of the two. The pork was delicious and edible, and the steak had amazing flavor, cooked to specifications, and would have been a Vegas top 5 if only brought out sooner. We voiced our displeasure on the steak and Tony immediately notified the Manager, and they removed it from our bill. That type of service has an impact, and made a very positive impression on us that they were not willing to sacrifice their quality, which is excellent, for a dish that didn't check all the boxes on a jammed up night. Walking into this restaurant, the place is lively. It's intimate in some areas of the restaurant, but towards the front, there's more action because the bar is right when you walk in. I sat at the bar with my friends. We were greeted by everyone behind the bar and Martha was the one who mainly took care of us. She explained the menu and recommended her favorites and why. The cocktail, she told us we would take a small bite of the garnish, which was made with pork belly and take a sip of the cocktail. The flavors of the cocktail was smokey with a hint of bacon and bourbon. Not too sweet. It was perfect. The oysters and hamachi were also great dishes with the flavors coming all together. Next we shared the salmon and fried chicken. Who knew the fried chicken would be as juicy in a steakhouse?! Martha told us the story behind how the "ramen" inspiration came from for the chicken. The salmon was prepared medium with truffle bits on the side and the sauce was just phenomenal. We did not have any room for dessert, so next time we'll have to try it out. We ordered the dry-aged ribeye cooked over a wood fire. You can really taste the smokiness, which I know a lot of people love. For me personally, I tend to prefer a pan seared steak since it keeps more of that juicy richness, so this one came off a little less juicy than I expected but still flavorful. The sides were honestly the highlight. The mac and cheese was super creamy and packed with flavor, and the whipped potatoes were smooth, buttery, and just really well done. We also tried the banana foster cheesecake. It was decent, but I'll admit I have pretty high standards when it comes to cheesecake, so it didn't quite wow me. Overall, still a great experience with really good food and atmosphere. I'd definitely come back, maybe just try a different steak next time. read more

I've been hearing about Rare Society from just about everyone--and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Our server was incredibly attentive and made some great recommendations for sides, which we all ended up loving. Honestly, everything we ordered was a hit--there wasn't a single item we didn't enjoy. The Caesar salad was coated in fluffy cheese and absolutely delicious. I had the half-dozen oysters, which were fresh and flavorful--the hot sauce they served with them was a standout. The grilled artichoke was perfectly cooked, and the sauce on the side was a great complement. For our main, we shared the Executive Board among four people. I loved the variety of cuts--some fattier, some leaner--so everyone had something to enjoy. And once again, the sauces served alongside were excellent. I'll definitely be going back! read more

A very intimate restaurant. Small bar that sits low We came in during the week and the restaurant was full. I waiter was nice. Our main course took a bit to arrive, but everything was cooked perfectly. The bread is a must try! The clams had great flavor but they were tiny. The caesar salad was well dressed and even though it looks like a lot of parm, it wilted down once you tossed the salad around. The carpaccio was good but I've never had it with hardboiled eggs. For our main course we decided on the Executive. Associate = wagyu beef and smaller portion, Executive = dry aged meats and a bigger portion. All the meats, ribeye, NY and filet were cooked perfectly. The board came with the sauces and some bone marrow. The augratin was a favorite but the nothing special about the mushrooms, but not a fan of the egg and the miso carrots were explosive in flavor but not sure if I liked them or they were too much. Went to the Las Vegas, NV location for my bestie's birthday. The ambiance was amazing, yet low key...we didn't feel as though we needed to be quiet with our party of 10 ( and we were a wee bit noisy). The food was amazing AND filling! The average price per person was, roughly, $120, including tax, tip, appetizers and cocktails. We've added it to our favorite restaurant list and can't wait for our next visit ! read more

We went to Rare Society for a birthday celebration with a group of four and had a great experience. We made a reservation ahead of time and were seated promptly. The inside is nicely done with plenty of seating options, and the atmosphere felt perfect for a special occasion. We ordered the 35-day dry aged ribeye, wood-fired broccolini, fettuccine alfredo, and a half dozen oysters to share. We also each got two drinks. Everything we tried was delicious and we left feeling satisfied. The steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and we really enjoyed the broccolini, which our waitress had recommended. My personal favorite was the fettuccine alfredo because it was creamy and had a nice touch to our overall meal. While waiting for our main dishes, we started with the oysters and a side of bread, both of which were fresh and tasty. As a nice surprise, they brought out a birthday ice cream for the celebration, which was a thoughtful touch. We had a great dining experience here. With nearly three weeks of being up and running, you can tell Rare Society runs a tight ship. There is plenty of staff throughout the restaurant ready to assist their customers. I love the fact that almost everything on the menu can be shared. We started with the parker house rolls, which are baked in house and topped with a savory truffle butter. Next, we enjoyed the hamachi crudo, which stood out with the yuzu glaze but also texture. It was a very well plated dish, something I will always remember. For a party of three, we thought "the associate" board would be plenty. This is a very unique concept! We got to try the filet, Denver cut, and a tri-tip, paired with their three steak sauces and a delicious butter! Each cut of meat was more decadent that the next but I have to say my favorite was the filet. Each one was prepared to perfection. We complimented our steak with the potato au gratin, which is a must!!!! Having saved some room for dessert, the bananas foster cheesecake was a no-brainer. NO WORDS! Top 5 desserts for me.
