Red Barn has been revived. I am totally enamored with what the new owners have done with this venue.

This isn't the Red Barn of old. It's been completely transformed into a mashup of desert oddity and unexpected cool. Think Western saloon meets art house fever dream. Somehow it works. The whole place feels like a mirage that decided to stick around. It's quirky, a little dusty in the best way, and fully committed to its own wild vibe. It shouldn't make sense across the street from The Paseo and yet it totally does. Live music is raw and real. It hums with the kind of energy that feels both accidental and exactly right. The decor is bizarre in the best way. Taxidermy? Maybe. Neon? Possibly. Vibes? Absolutely. Service is warm, welcoming, and easy on the eyes. Definitely worth a wander in.

THE DAY AFTER my 21st birthday, I went to red barn. Had two cosmos. Was obliterated in 45 mins. Service was slow, drink was drugged. I went home sobbing uncontrollably. Affected my entire being. Soul = Sad... Spirit = Evil. Never again. 10/10 do not recommend. Please be safe ladies.

Came here for some good music and drinks! This place is very cute and has good service.

This bar was truly unexpected. I was having dinner on El Paseo and looked for bars in the area. From the outside it looks like a red barn and when you walk in it's a colorful, chic cocktail bar with mismatching furniture and cool art pieces. The bartenders are great and Britney was super sweet and funny. If you're in Palm Desert definitely check it out. It's a vibe!

Some fun drinks .. I forgot the name lol

Visited the Red Barn this past Friday night ... so this review is purely based on this one experience clearly. I'll start off by saying I do want to come back another time.. maybe when it opens and I can grab a spot at the bar and really take in any other type of vibe this place can offer. Now as for Friday, I was told in advance they would have the little rope ..and a dress code so I walked in prepared for a type of environment that would be a little more upscale chic.. boy was I wrong lol. I get it's called Red Barn but I saw more ladies in cowgirl gear than Stagecoach! Then the other half looked like they belonged in RHOC circa 2010. It was funny and odd. The ladies in the back room were belligerent drunk ..we saw one girl semi crawling ... I would hope she dropped something and she just awkwardly was looking for it.. but I really don't know. Then there was another group of folks playing that weird game with their phones where you guess what the word is??.. my students play this btw. Anyways, they were as loud as the music playing which kept going in and out! I'm sure at one point some basic artist like Rufus came on. Ok so then the real show was when one of the girls got on top of the table to do god knows what (dance?) and then we slowly almost watched her head get chopped off from the ceiling fan lol... well not literally obviously but she bumped her hair and I swear her long ponytail was seconds away from getting caught in the fan! I think that's when we decided the show was over. Drinks are pricey but what the hell isn't anymore. I don't mind dropping $25 on a drink but not when there is a girl in jeans on a table swinging her head. Where was security? lol Ok the highlight was Kenzie, very lovely young lady who was our server. Her outfit was cute. She was very attentive and had a fun vibe to her. She helped us decide on drinks and I appreciate her input. Ok the decor in there is nice and I see the work that was put into it. But if I want those vibes I'll go to the Saguaro pool at 2pm on a Saturday and have a $16 frozen margarita instead. Overall, interesting place and Yeahhh man I'd go back for more stories to go back home with)

Walked in here with my boyfriend to see what was behind the red doors. We walked in and appreciated how nicely everything was laid out. There were unique sculptures and chairs all around. The drinks were solid. 7/10. I appreciated the servers coming around and checking in on us! We were tucked away in a back room so having someone checking in on us and asking if we needed another drink was nice! I definitely recommend this place! :)

This was our first time here since the remodel. I love everything about the inside decor. Super cool. Every room is a bit different. The drinks were super pricy but also super delicious. Go check it out !

We loved this bar before the renovation. We love it even more now! The eclectic vibes make it such a cool location. Here on a Monday and they have a dj and it was fairly busy. There's no food, but the service was amazing. This place is good for small and large parties...

My youngest loved her spaghetti and meatballs and she is usually pretty picky about pasta. I had the butternut squash ravioli and they were rich, creamy, and exactly what I wanted. My wife ordered the miso glazed seabass and she loved it. I stole her bok choy and that made me very happy. The restaurant is really clean with a laid back contemporary vibe and great music. The AC at our first table was blasting cold air right on us and the staff moved us right away with no issue at all. They were also incredibly kind to my youngest whose birthday we were celebrating. They surprised her with her favorite tiramisu and a candle which completely made her night. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

The…read morerestaurant is beautifully designed, featuring a welcoming, open-air flow that perfectly captures the desert aesthetic. It clearly caters to a sophisticated crowd--very similar in vibe to their Calabasas location. While parking is accessible in the rear, it can get congested during peak season. The menu is extensive with plenty of excellent selections, though the pricing is definitely premium. For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. Service was friendly but lacked consistency; our server disappeared mid-meal without a hand-off, requiring us to flag down other staff. Overall, it's a bright, airy, and stylish spot well worth a visit, provided you're prepared for the 'luxury' price point.

FOOD PREP: Very well done, like professional in just how it looks. FOOD QUALITY: Professional in how it also tastes... Watermelon Gazpacho was perfect with drinks prior to main. Palm Desert retail is below while Palm Springs is right next door. Both have access to restaurants and retail. This location has a decent size dining room and a pretty big covered patio that wraps around. At first we thought that we would have to check in with the hostess for a seat at the bar but found out that we didn't as someone else just walked right up. It was the start of happy hour which was the reason for the visit. Just wanted a drink and maybe a light bite. There was 2 seats that were available at the bar which was perfect timing as when we got seated, a few other people walked in but ended up just ordering drinks while waiting for a seat to open up. Happy hours from 3-5 which I feel like loads of people come for it. They offer a couple dollars off of starters, wine and beer. For small bites, 5.00 sliders and 6.00 fish tacos. Limited but a little discount on the starters. We had a glass of wine which was 4.00 off with the HH. Of course with that, something to munch on was needed. Clearly they're known for the coconut shrimp starters which we were informed by the bartender. And from the looks of it, pretty much everyone sitting there had an order. Which was a given for us to get. It came with five shrimp, decent size with a nice glaze sauce and adorned with coleslaw which was quite tasty. Definitely worth it. And the sliders, one each. Wow, I'm not much of a burger person but they were tasty. Cooked perfectly, the meat was juicy and served pretty simple with grilled onions, sauce, a slice of cheese and a slice of pickle on top of the bun. Simple yet very tasty and flavorful. The service was great at the bar. Gentlemen taking care of use was sweet and quite friendly. Seemed like it's a local and regular hangout as he seemed to know everyone sitting there. The wine was tasty and the bites were great. Coconut shrimp was a hit as well as the sliders which I do recommend. Even on a Monday right at 3, the bar area was pretty packed already. People know when to come for HH.

This used to be our go-to restaurant whenever we visited Palm Desert, but unfortunately our last…read moretwo visits have been very disappointing. Today's lunch with family and friends was especially frustrating, and everyone left unhappy. The kids' sliders were burnt on both ends, and the chicken was overcooked and even contained a long hair. We were served appetizers without any plates and had to get up and ask for them ourselves. We also ordered three appetizers, but only two arrived. When we asked about the missing appetizer, we were told it would come out later because the other family in our party had ordered it. That explanation made no sense. Appetizers should be served together regardless of which members of the party ordered them. To make matters worse, when we requested separate checks, we were told the restaurant could not accommodate that request. We have dined here many times in the past and have never had an issue receiving separate checks, so this was surprising and frustrating. The waiter just gave us the option to split the check evenly on two cards which is not helpful since one family spent far less than the other. Apparently the food could be separated by family, but the bill could not. Service throughout the meal was poor. We were never offered additional cocktails or soft drink refills until we had already finished eating. Dirty plates sat on the table for an extended period of time, attracting multiple flies and creating an unpleasant dining experience. It's disappointing because this restaurant was once one of our favorites, but after two consecutive poor experiences, we're finding it difficult to justify returning.

Wine bar doesn't open till 5 which was when happy hour started. For the first hour, they had wine, well drinks and draft beer. A few small plates also offered. It's a wine and tapas bar. It's along El Paseo before you hit the main shopping area, depending on which way you come. Entrance has a nice wall created by ficus trees and mister spraying to keep you cool. A good amount of hi top seating and tables. Hi top seating that are along the window were actually very uncomfortable. Padded seats were so narrow that seating was so uncomfortable but oh well. There's the other room seating area which houses all the wine on shelves. I believe it's also a wine store but that sectioned was closed for a private event. We just wanted a drink before dinner so no food was had. From the looks of the dishes that were coming out, they looked really nice. Tapas style dishes made for sharing. With happy hour, there was a couple dishes that was included. Also they offered a deal with a charcuterie board and a bottle included. We just went with a glass of their house red and white. And an order of spicy margaritas. It's a full bar so that was nice. Margaritas were great and house wine was decent. The service was great with the bartender who was a doll and very sweet. Made drinks and still had time to come check out on people. It was still early but it did pick up for happy hour which is from 5-6 right when they open. The place was quite nice and well decorated.
