Great ambiance, drinks and music. Defenitly a fun spot to hit up after dinner! High tops were reserved but we asked the hostess and she happily sat us there.

The outside doesn't give you any clue what's waiting on the inside! The drinks were great, but the décor is what really made this place stand out. It felt like walking through a museum, with so much to look at everywhere you turned. They even had a DJ on a Sunday summer night, which made for a fun atmosphere. So glad we decided to stop in!

This isn't the Red Barn of old. It's been completely transformed into a mashup of desert oddity and unexpected cool. Think Western saloon meets art house fever dream. Somehow it works. The whole place feels like a mirage that decided to stick around. It's quirky, a little dusty in the best way, and fully committed to its own wild vibe. It shouldn't make sense across the street from The Paseo and yet it totally does. Live music is raw and real. It hums with the kind of energy that feels both accidental and exactly right. The decor is bizarre in the best way. Taxidermy? Maybe. Neon? Possibly. Vibes? Absolutely. Service is warm, welcoming, and easy on the eyes. Definitely worth a wander in.

Red Barn has been revived. I am totally enamored with what the new owners have done with this venue.

THE DAY AFTER my 21st birthday, I went to red barn. Had two cosmos. Was obliterated in 45 mins. Service was slow, drink was drugged. I went home sobbing uncontrollably. Affected my entire being. Soul = Sad... Spirit = Evil. Never again. 10/10 do not recommend. Please be safe ladies.

This bar was truly unexpected. I was having dinner on El Paseo and looked for bars in the area. From the outside it looks like a red barn and when you walk in it's a colorful, chic cocktail bar with mismatching furniture and cool art pieces. The bartenders are great and Britney was super sweet and funny. If you're in Palm Desert definitely check it out. It's a vibe!

Some fun drinks .. I forgot the name lol

Visited the Red Barn this past Friday night ... so this review is purely based on this one experience clearly. I'll start off by saying I do want to come back another time.. maybe when it opens and I can grab a spot at the bar and really take in any other type of vibe this place can offer. Now as for Friday, I was told in advance they would have the little rope ..and a dress code so I walked in prepared for a type of environment that would be a little more upscale chic.. boy was I wrong lol. I get it's called Red Barn but I saw more ladies in cowgirl gear than Stagecoach! Then the other half looked like they belonged in RHOC circa 2010. It was funny and odd. The ladies in the back room were belligerent drunk ..we saw one girl semi crawling ... I would hope she dropped something and she just awkwardly was looking for it.. but I really don't know. Then there was another group of folks playing that weird game with their phones where you guess what the word is??.. my students play this btw. Anyways, they were as loud as the music playing which kept going in and out! I'm sure at one point some basic artist like Rufus came on. Ok so then the real show was when one of the girls got on top of the table to do god knows what (dance?) and then we slowly almost watched her head get chopped off from the ceiling fan lol... well not literally obviously but she bumped her hair and I swear her long ponytail was seconds away from getting caught in the fan! I think that's when we decided the show was over. Drinks are pricey but what the hell isn't anymore. I don't mind dropping $25 on a drink but not when there is a girl in jeans on a table swinging her head. Where was security? lol Ok the highlight was Kenzie, very lovely young lady who was our server. Her outfit was cute. She was very attentive and had a fun vibe to her. She helped us decide on drinks and I appreciate her input. Ok the decor in there is nice and I see the work that was put into it. But if I want those vibes I'll go to the Saguaro pool at 2pm on a Saturday and have a $16 frozen margarita instead. Overall, interesting place and Yeahhh man I'd go back for more stories to go back home with)

Came here for some good music and drinks! This place is very cute and has good service.

Walked in here with my boyfriend to see what was behind the red doors. We walked in and appreciated how nicely everything was laid out. There were unique sculptures and chairs all around. The drinks were solid. 7/10. I appreciated the servers coming around and checking in on us! We were tucked away in a back room so having someone checking in on us and asking if we needed another drink was nice! I definitely recommend this place! :)

We started with the Burrata with Heirloom Tomato and Beef Carpaccio, both of which were delicious. We also had the Lobster Roll, Zucchini Noodles with Shrimp, and the Grilled Skirt Steak with truffle shoestring potatoes -- the skirt steak was especially good! We also tried a sushi tuna roll, which was another great addition to the table. The drinks were fantastic, and everything came out tasting fresh and well prepared. To top it all off, they brought out a nice little lemon cake for my birthday, which was a really nice touch. Overall, even though it was crowded and loud, we had a great experience. Great service, amazing food and drinks, and a fun Friday night atmosphere. Definitely a good spot for a celebration!

The AC at our first table was blasting cold air right on us and the staff moved us right away with no issue at all. They were also incredibly kind to my youngest whose birthday we were celebrating. They surprised her with her favorite tiramisu and a candle which completely made her night. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Wine bar doesn't open till 5 which was when happy hour started. For the first hour, they had wine, well drinks and draft beer. A few small plates also offered. It's a wine and tapas bar. It's along El Paseo before you hit the main shopping area, depending on which way you come. Entrance has a nice wall created by ficus trees and mister spraying to keep you cool. There's a decent patio with a good amount of seating. Inside is where the party is. The place is set with two seating area. Right when you walk in is the bar. A good amount of hi top seating and tables. Hi top seating that are along the window were actually very uncomfortable. Padded seats were so narrow that seating was so uncomfortable but oh well. There's the other room seating area which houses all the wine on shelves. I believe it's also a wine store but that sectioned was closed for a private event. We just wanted a drink before dinner so no food was had. From the looks of the dishes that were coming out, they looked really nice. Tapas style dishes made for sharing. With happy hour, there was a couple dishes that was included. Also they offered a deal with a charcuterie board and a bottle included. We just went with a glass of their house red and white. And an order of spicy margaritas. It's a full bar so that was nice. Margaritas were great and house wine was decent. The service was great with the bartender who was a doll and very sweet. Made drinks and still had time to come check out on people. It was still early but it did pick up for happy hour which is from 5-6 right when they open. The place was quite nice and well decorated. This…read morerestaurant is located inside La Quinta Resort & Club, and the experience feels special from the moment you walk through the historic, tall arched wooden doors. The entrance lead you down a hallway toward the hostess stand, with couches, a bar and a piano being played to the left. To the right , you enter the main dining room. The space felt open, elegant, and immediately welcoming. Talk about fine dining at its best. The hostess was able to quickly seat our party of six, and our server immediately brought over the menus and filled our water glasses. THE FOOD: We started with the oysters , and they did not disappoint. They were served with a shallot mignonette which was vinegary in all the right ways. They were so good, that we ended up ordering a second round. For dinner, we all ordered the steak with mushrooms and broccoli. The steak was perfectly cooked, and every bite was bursting with flavor. Even the mushrooms and broccoli stood out. Everything was seasoned beautifully without overpowering the actual flavors of the vegetables. Even the bread was so good. It was served with three different butters. And dessert? Also top notch. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner with friends. THE SERVICE: The service really added to the experience. Our server was attentive and took great care of us. The GM, Ray, also stopped by our table, and we ended up chatting and joking with him a bit. He was incredibly friendly and personable and made sure we were having a great experience. Between the setting, the food, the genuinely attentive service, this as one of those dinners where it all felt elevated. Definitely one of the many highlights of our stay at La Quinta Resort.

Morgan's in the Desert: Disappointment After Disappointment. $400 for Meh…read more After living in La Quinta for four years, we were ready to try Morgan's, as it's one of the last foodie restaurants in the Coachella valley that we haven't tried. We arrived early for our reservation, excited to grab a drink at the bar before dinner. Then we were told our table was already available... only to be seated at a dining table in the bar, off to the side, where apparently servers do not exist while staring at the back of the pianist and the barflies. The two bartenders were fantastic--especially Brian, who was working at warp speed--but they already had a packed bar to manage. Adding dining tables to their workload was clearly not realistic. Why were we seated there? Still a mystery. Reservation problems: I booked through the QR code advertised in The Gem for the August prix fixe dinners at La Quinta Resort's restaurants. When we arrived, we were told the prix fixe menu wasn't available that day. Sorry! So we ordered bread and oysters instead. About 15-20 minutes later, the manager came over and said they would honor the prix fixe after all. Great! Except... we'd already ordered appetizers. ‍ And wow, was it SLOW. We were seated at 5:30 and still didn't have our entrées at 7:00. Drinks regularly sat empty, and once the restaurant got busy around 6:30, water refills disappeared completely. Did I mention it was 110 degrees outside? The food? A mixed bag--but overall, wildly overpriced and underwhelming. * Oysters: Ice-cold and served with a good mignonette. Also pricey. * Bread: Fresh and warm, but the olive tapenade was aggressively salty. Again, overpriced. * Watermelon salad: The winner! Refreshing, flavorful, and the spicy nuts gave it a nice kick. Highly recommend. * Chicken cacciatore: Dry chicken, undercooked tomatoes, overcooked pasta. Never again. * Oscar filet: Delicious and well-prepared, but nothing memorable or special--especially for the price. Bottom line: We spent about $400 for a frustrating, painfully slow, mostly mediocre meal. There are too many great restaurants in the area to spend that kind of money on "meh." We won't be back.
