So my husband wanted to take me out to eat for my birthday today and chose Red Lobster. It was brief and bad experience. We walked in a a hostess was not available to seat us but we did see a manager having a personal conversation at the bar and he kept making eye contact with us. I said "Are we going to get seated today!" The manager continued his personal conversion with the blonde female that was standing at the bar. So we said we will go somewhere else then all of a sudden the manager decides to chase us out to the parking lot to seat us but it was too late as we stood at the host stand listening to him chat away for 5 minutes. This was my first time going to Red Lobster. All I can say is WOW! We ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, the salad was a decent size and then my husband got a seaside shrimp trio and it was really good, I ordered the wood-grilled lobster, shrimp and salmon. It was wonderful! Our appetizer arrived promptly followed by our salad and before we were even done with our salad, our food had arrived. The cheddar biscuits were amazing (thankful that I can get the mix at the grocery store!) Red Lobster is a bit pricey but we had a $25 gift card from survey mini (highly recommend this app!) and then by signing up for the newsletter, a coupon for a free appetizer or desert. After ordering a few extras (1 soda and 1 drink from the bar) we only paid $35. I definitely would go back for a special occasion or if we had a gift card. This location was packed around 6p but our wait was around 15-20 minutes which was not bad for how packed it was! read more

We did have a few issues during our visit but Deltdrick was on top of everything so we didnt really care that much. Let me start by saying the star rating is not descriptive of our visit. I only gave 4 stars (really should be 1) because I feel like the reason for the bad review is based mostly on the Red Lobster company and not necessarily this specific location. Not really fair to knock this location as bad for things that are the fault of the company itself. First, the dish for 16.99 that comes with a soup, salad, entree and dessert that I have been getting for YEARS is now only available Monday-Thursday. Mind you we went 3 weeks ago and were able to get it so this is very recent. Very bad call on their part. Secondly, EVERYTHING (or so it seems) is an up charge. Thankfully, the waitress does a good job on letting you know that it's an up charge so you aren't shocked when you get the bill. But really, it's unnecessary. Lastly, we went as one of our guest's birthday is Monday. This is where he chose to go for his birthday. I was not at all impressed that we had to remind the waitress twice that it was his birthday. They also had no birthday dessert. I have been other places that didn't have desserts but they always knocked 5%-10% off the bill as most birthday celebrations include a large bill. We got nothing but a happy birthday song. To some this may not be a big deal, but this is the one place he decided to come and your birthday only comes once a year. A scoop of ice cream would have been nice. As far as other reviews about the service, it really isn't the best but I see all of the servers running around so maybe they are just understaffed? My daughter, I and 3 grandchildren were at Red Lobster for lunch over the weekend. The service was ok. The food was not very good at all. I had the endless shrimp and the only part of it that was good was the shrimp scampi. I ordered a lobsterita drink and had to remind my waitress once my food arrived that I hadn t got it yet. And I don t think alcohol was added. The soft drinks were watered down or something was wrong with the machine. The chowder and potato bacon soups were basically heavy cream with potatoes and bacon sprinkled through out (didn't eat it)...oh, don't forget the parsley garnish, that really classed it up! I will say that the new orleans salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli was pretty decent....I mean, you would have to put in serious effort to screw that up. The dessert wasn't bad either. Ok so I must admit that I make it a point to go to Red Lobster every year during their endless shrimp promotion. Many years ago, I went with two friends and ate 101 shrimp in one sitting, so since then, I make a point to go back each year to try and beat my personal best record. On Friday afternoon, I unexpectedly went to Red Lobster with two friends of mine for a very late lunch. I explained that this could be a long lunch as I am a bottomless pit when it comes to the endless shrimp promo! We had to wait a few minutes to be seated which I thought was kind of odd as the restaurant was not busy. We were seated and greeted moments later by our server James. He took our drink order but I must admit I was a bit disappointed that when he returned w our drinks that he didn't have biscuits in hand. He tried to set down the drinks and walk away, and seemed kind of put out when we told him that we were ready to order. All three of us got the endless shrimp. Scampi, scampi, and more scampi for this girl! I was surprised to learn that we could order two refills of shrimp at a time. There were a few instances where I think our server failed to put in our refill orders bc the lapse of time seemed like forever(again it wasn't busy!) James was overly talkative. At one point he even showed us a picture on his cell phone of the pile of shrimp tails from when he came to endless shrimp with his dad which is fine, but weird, but what really bothered me was his comment about the number of shrimp I ate. He down played my accomplishment and said something like you should count the number of refills, not the number of shrimp. Bottom-line, with a less immature, annoying, talkative server, I would have given my dining experience another star. I am happy to announce that I broke my personal best record and ate 112 shrimp! If I hadn't eaten 3 biscuits, half of a casaer salad and a baked potatoe, I would have superseded my shrimp record by much more than I did! No complaints from me about the food. To Red Lobster Management (Wake Forest Rd/Raleigh NC)...Food was just terrible! Ordered a med rare sirloin dinner (fries & rice). Steak looked weird, like swollen & also dry. I cut a piece to view the inside, it was almost well done, dry & had a weird texture/look...very smooth like clay. Also had a grayish color along with the slight pink. It had NO flavor, it was hard/tough, especially the edges. Rice had NO flavor & a couple specks of broccoli??? Fries looked refried, NO flavor. I'm thinking that the sides were leftovers from someone else's plate. I ate some of the softer areas of steak although still tough. I was grossed out due to my entire meal appearing to be scraps & weird looking steak. I tossed the meal into a bag & placed into my freezer. I truly believe that the steak is NOT 100% beef/steak. This is the 2nd time my steak was tough from same location but it did look like steak at least. My husband had the Admiral's feast, added fried shrimp. Well, the shrimp is just fine, however...the fried fish looks like SOGGY FISH STICKS/STRIPS although I requested NO SOGGY FISH! The batter is hanging off the fish sticks. I've never seen fish sticks/strips advertised via TV &/or the website & we've had fish from there in the past, NEVER rec'd fish sticks/strips! Husband ate the shrimp but is afraid to eat the fish sticks, he calls it "mystery meat!" (just as my steak appears) Ordered yesterday, Sunday Nov 17th, today is Monday & he is still afraid to eat the fish sticks/strips. Having spent over $40.00 on both meals, 1 of which was tossed---I had to complain as to hopefully prevent this from happening again (not that we'll order via delivery again) . It appears that dine-in &/or take-out food is of much higher quality, which is NOT fair & should not be happening! I think they give low quality food/scraps to people who order via delivery because maybe most ppl will not get dressed, hop in cars to return it! We have NO idea of the condition of the food via delivery, but that is NOT OK to serve poor quality food to us just because we don't dine-in/take-out! This MUST be stopped before someone gets sick & sues! (my stomach did not feel good after eating portions of the meal).
