I enjoy seafood, I eat it on a regular basis and I've had better lobster bisque at Central Market. The scones were too salty. I decided not to eat them. This was a surprisingly pleasant experience. The servers were incredibly nice and took care of my wife and I. They initially tried to seat us near a large group of people and we immediately explained that we wanted to be in a more secluded area. Our server without question, gave us another location away from large crowds and closer to the music so we could treat this meal as a romantic date. That small touch was monumental in our visit. The professionalism is second to none. The food came out hot and fresh. Our drinks stay filled and we got everything we needed to relax and enjoy a nice evening. In addition, the servers effectively communicate and work together. When my server was working on one table, another server approached my wife and I and asked while if she could assist us while our main server was with another client. We decided to eat at the bar and have a chill evening. The bartender didn't seem to have his head in the game because we started off the evening with him making a bad bloody mary and messed up my drink twice! I know it's a Red Lobster, but geez, how hard is a vodka soda? Ok, so we ordered, and of course one of our plates came out incorrect. I could understand if the place was busy, but there wasn't another sole in the bar, and it appeared they had plenty of staff. Oh yeah...and as we ate, sitting next to us was an employee that had obviously just got off work. As we were sitting there, he was beating his hands not he bar pretending to play the drums. Then took his YETI cup and started taping it against the bar to the beat of the music. Sorry for the randomness of this review, but to be honest the service and experience was pretty random as well. As a server, I am loathe to leave a bad review for overall what was a lackluster experience. The food was great, so this is just based on service. My friend and I visited this location last Thursday for dinner. (June 20, 2019) We arrived just after 7:00 and were seated rather quickly - honestly, I was expecting a wait for it being prime dinner hours. It took our server - Keisha - at least ten minutes to visit the table and ask what we'd like to drink, and while she was very polite and nice, things dropped quickly when we both ordered waters. It took another five minutes before she came back with our drinks and had my friend not interjected that we wanted an appetizer, she would have been off again without getting the start of our order. Actually ordering our meals was like trying to pull teeth; she was polite and courteous while she was at the table, but she was gone for such long periods of time before she would check on us that it became almost a game of when she would be back - five minutes? ten? After my water glass remained empty for a majority of my dinner, I started to get a little irritated - I can seriously only imagine what my friend was feeling/thinking. Time hadn't really been an issue; but, it quickly became one after we were given the check. We put two cards in the presenter and she promptly vanished. In the time it took her to run the two debit cards at least two tables that had walked in after us and sat in different sections both left, and it was finally that I paid attention to the clock. We had been sitting there for nearly an hour and a half! It was only good sense that had us purchasing tickets for a 9:15 movie, but had we really wanted to see the one at 8:40, I would have been livid. Overall, our food was amazing. The Crab Lovers Dream plate was flavorful and generous portion of crab to satisfy my appetite, thick King Crab, Crab Alferado, and sweet Alaska Crab, made for a satisfying mouthwatering dinner. They cook literally everything in the same oil as all the shellfish. Every single thing. I understand that it is primarily a seafood restaurant, however, you cannot, as a restaurant portray yourself to be for everyone when you cook everything in the same oil. It's extremely dangerous. There should be full disclosure that this is a strictly seafood restaurant, meaning no one with allergies, or anyone who does not like seafood should eat here. The manager did the best she can, and I absolutely commend her for it, same for our waitress. I wanted to come here for my birthday because I have loved this restaurant since I was a child, but I was informed literally everything is cooked in the same oil as the shellfish, to include, the steaks on the grill, the French fries, calamari, fish. Everything NON-seafood, my husband and child could not eat due to their allergies. They tried to rectify it but also told me that they could not fry anything we ordered in new oil because they don't have the equipment to do it. The owner of this establishment needs to do better, because my daughter almost ate her fries and the minute my husband had the calamari he felt weird, so he stopped immediately. I was then informed that basically everything served is cooked in the same oil. Im super upset Ill never be able to come back here but I also feel a little obligated to report this because it is extremely dangerous. It had been about 3 years since we ate at this Red Lobster. No reason for not being back except for just a little too expensive for our budget. We arrived at around 7:15 pm on a Friday evening. We were greeted by the hostess immediately and quoted a wait time of 20 minuets. After less then a 10 minuet wait our table was ready. We were seated and our waiter (RJ) introduced himself and took our drink and appetizer order, we went with the stuffed mushrooms. The biscuits came out and they were ok. Not exactly what we remembered. Honestly think the Red Lobster biscuits box version that we buy at the grocery store tasted better. Stuffed Mushrooms came out and were exactly like we remembered. Outstanding! Salads were good, I had the Ceaser, wife had the House with house Vinaigrette. We both enjoyed them. For our entrees I ordered the Lobster Tacos with a side of mashed potatoes, she ordered the Fish and Chips with a side of broccoli. I thought the tacos were great, would definitely order again. She said the Fish didn't have much flavor to it. All in all our meal was good. Really disappointed that they took the Stuffed Flounder off the menu, that was our favorite. BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): WHAT A CRAP SHOW!! What in the heck has happened to Red Lobster. Not sure why I continue to frequent Red Lobster occasionally because the one near my house is horrible, but thought I would take the family to this location, as I have never been thinking this one may still have the magic....WELL IT DOESN'T. This one was on the way home from Church, and it certainly made me lose my religion after the experience. Arrived around 1 PM, and it was virtually empty. The host indicated approximately a 15 -20 minute wait. Really??? Then a staff member came dragging into the restaurant. Young kid that looked like he had been on a bender all night. The host said, "There's your waiter, I can go ahead and seat you now". Extremely slow service from this young man. Took forever to take drink order, forever to bring the drinks, forever to take meal order, and forever for the food to come. Everyone got their meal except me. The waiter said, let me go check on it. The he came back about 10 minutes later and asked me what I ordered! I told him. Everyone else had finished eating, then he finally brought my meal out. I just asked for a box to take it home with me, as I did not want to make everyone sit there while I eat. The Manager must have been MIA because I didn't see anyone in authority working here. Paid the bill and booked it. Red Lobster has gone down hill. Based upon reading some of their company history lately, I can see why. Previous CEO retired after 14 years where the executive team received a D+ score. Red Lobster employees rate their Executive Team in the Bottom 25% of similar size companies on Comparably with 10,000+ Employees according to the website Comparably. They named a new CEO, Kelli Valade, who lasted a whole 8 month before jumping ship to head to Denny's. I freaking love me some Red Lobster! My two most favorite times of the year to go are during their Lobsterfest and Endless shrimp events. What I've come to expect from RL is consistency, great attentive customer service, and boozy cocktails. Ever since they started selling their cheddar bay biscuit mix at Sams Club, there's been no turning back for me. Of course they don't come out as delicious as the ones served at the restaurant, but it definitely holds me over until the next time I have a chance to visit. This location in particular is my favorite. Always clean, newer than their other locations, and their service is always on point. Whatever shrimp that you don't finish you get to take home, so it's actually quite the deal. Both of us that tried the endless shrimp agreed that the teriyaki shrimp is the best tasting out of the options. My boyfriend ordered the cajun chicken alfredo, and he said it was good. Our group also shared the carrot cake for dessert, and it was delicious! In my opinion this is the best red lobster location in town. I like Red Lobster and we've been to this location about 5 or 6 times. I usually go there to get my "crab leg fix". Every time the food is good. The last time we went, there was hair in my husband's shrimp scampi and we sent it back for a new order. They handled it very professionally and made sure we were satisfied afterwards and we were. Stuffed and ready to pay our bill, the manager came over to our table and apologized again for the hair and told us she was taking the meal off the ticket. We told her she didn't have to but she insisted. Talk about customer service!! :) I don't remember her name but she had blonde hair and looked to be in her late 30's early 40's. Next, let's move on to the food. We started with the stuffed mushrooms and cheese sticks. I know what you're thinking, how can that be something that gets messed up, it's a simple dish. Trust me, we've been to places that have managed. This was not one of those places. They were excellent!!! The lobster bisque was among the best I've had, partly due to the nice sized chunk of lobster! We ordered the endless shrimp (4 of us), steak, and Bar harbor lobster bake. Food came and was excellent! Not a single issue with any of our orders! The shrimp scampi was excellent, much better than I've had in recent times. The food was good HOWEVER the booth we sat in smelled very bad. At first we thought the table was wiped with a dirty sponge. We asked that the table be wiped clean again. It did not help. Then we thought maybe it was the seats but finally decided it was the carpeting under the table. Not sure if it was urine or spoiled food or who knows.
