We were unreasonably hungry when we turned up at this Red Lobster -- it's not our neck of the woods, and this is the first place we came across that seemed both reasonably priced and predictably reliable. We were seated quickly, got drinks served by a very personable waiter named Tex (who wasn't from Texas), and waited to have our order taken; then w a i t ed for our food. No one ever offered us a drink refill, so my tea was long gone by the time the food arrived . . . and when it did it was down-and-gone before I could get my "May I have more tea" out of my mouth. The place was clean, and Tex showed up near the end of our meal for lots of chatty and well informed conversation, albeit a bit late to be useful. Spouse chose a simple salmon plate, which was cooked to his taste - he was a happy camper. My lobster pizza (on flatbread) was a disappointment, because the flatbread, rather than being crisp as advertised, was totally soggy. The toppings were tasty enough but soggy bottom didn't enhance my lunch. (Those of you who are reading my reviews regularly will have gathered that I am 'way pickier than Spouse when it comes to food. His lack of pickiness is a blessing as, over the years, he's been remarkably tolerant of my uneven history of cooking.) A point about Red Lobster in general - when you ask about gluten free choices, they bring a multi-page spreadsheet listing every item on the menu with the whole universe of allergy possibilities. It's comprehensive, but not particularly helpful given the size of the menu. In other words, you make your choice first then see if you can eat it. We'd run into this way of handling things several years ago but had hoped to see it changed by now. Message to Corporate: be good to your guests. So the truth is, I only came here because my boyfriend had a gift card from who knows how long ago and we're trying to save some money. Red Lobster isn't really my idea of a great night out and our only objective was to get through the meal without wishing intensely that we'd dished out money at a better place. In we walk to RL and, even though we called ahead to "reserve" a table, we still had to wait upon arrival (uh, that was a bit aggravating). So while we waited we went to the bar where I ordered a "Lobsterita" which is the stupidest name for a margarita I've ever heard and brings terrible tastes to mind. RL, I suggest calling it a freaking "margarita" like the rest of the world. Once we were seated, our server was perfectly attentive and made sure our appetizer was put in timely and our dinner arrived closely thereafter. We tried the Lobster pizza which was honestly the best thing we ordered. Our server brought us some rolls which were absolutely delicious and made up for the fact that our "Ultimate Feast" was nothing interesting or delicious. When it was all said and done, my "Lobsterita" or margarita was the best thing I had that night. And although the service was lacking, we won't be back; RL is just not that interesting and when it comes to food, I need something to tingle my tongue. read more

Went for the Endless Shrimp promotion. My friend and I sat at the bar and received EXCEPTIONAL Service from the bartender Brittany. Always on key, polite. The food, well a bit salty, oily, flavor was just butter. not that it's a bad thing. But Butter. 4 stars is for the Service. I wish I could say more positive things about this Restaurant chain but they have gone down hill. I enjoy their Shrimp Cocktails and their Grilled Salmon. I thought this was the best location in San Antonio. The staff is very friendly and it is very clean. The reason for the 1 star review is that I have been served raw fish twice and it's disgusting and unsafe to eat. The management has apologized for the error both times and removed the entree from my tab, but it still ruined my dining experience and I will not be returning. Service: B I've only had one negative experience here where we had an inattentive waiter, but today's order was a to-go and it was ready for pickup within the stated time. The person also had all the toppings put on the side of everything just in case I didn't like any particular one which was an added bonus. Price: B The general cost of seafood is kind of high right now and this can definitely be seen in some of the entree prices. Final Thought: You can never go wrong with an old classic like Red Lobster! Make sure you get some cheddar biscuit rolls to take home too! We have been to this Red Lobster a number of times but this is my first review. Lendi S made this our best experience at Red Lobster ever! We told her we wanted a lot of cheddar biscuits and she really delivered! The food was delicious with huge portions as always and the margaritas were very tasty. Lendi also brought us extra lemons without us asking when she gave us water refills. Sounds little - no one ever thinks about providing more, but she was courteous enough to have them ready when she poured the water! The food was very good, but the service could've used more training. Especially if what they do could possibly kill you. My wife and I went and got the appetizer, two dinners and share a dessert deal. Everything was great and we got the Key Lime pie for the dessert. (my favorite). The waiter brought it out and my wife noticed raspberry drizzle on the plate. I informed the waiter that I am DEATHLY allergic to raspberry and if he would be so kind as to get me one without the drizzle. He said "Of course". He returned with another plate without the drizzle and as my wife examined the pie closer, she turned the pie over and there was raspberry still on the pie. The waiter just picked up the same pie and changed the plate! I'm sure you all would have been just as pissed off as I was. I'm not a complainer, I would just rather never go back to an establishment after something like that. I had to control my wife from choking someone though. My advice? This is not the red lobster I remember from years ago. The appetizer tuna poke and seafood stuffed mushroom was good but the garden salad had brown old leaves of lettuce. The lobster taco tortilla tasted stale and barely warm but the flavor of inside the taco was decent. My husbands fries were oil soaked limp sad things. His steak was overdone and tough. The replacement mashed potatoes were barely warm and certainly not spectacular. His broccoli were limp and dark green over steamed. His mango margarita was good. So there you have it. My friend and I went here Friday afternoon and had a lovely lunch. It didn't start out the best, because there was no one at the hostess desk so we had to wait about three minutes for anyone to greet and seat us at the front. But once we made it to our table and met our server Gabby everything went very well. We both chose the endless shrimp and it was delicious. Disappointed over all. Nice waiter but just inexperienced. Service was soooo slow. Salads came out fast but took well over hour before food came out. When crab finally came out it took waiter addl 15 min to bring utensils to crack crab. The sides which we over paid for didn't come out with food. Waiter never ever cleared table after dinner. My granddaughter chose this restaurant for a family birthday celebration. We had a party of 9 and got seated very quickly. They had several servers waiting on our table so understand how they got confused on who was doing what. The food was not that good. The servers were friendly and prompt. The main reason for my low rating is because of Management's lack of being customer centric. My daughter ordered her food to go since she needed to leave early. This was explained up front when we ordered. She ordered the 4 course meal and they brought it to her and said this is the "to go order". Then 10 minutes after my daughter had left they brought out a bag and said this is the rest of your to go order. So my daughter ended up getting 1 out of 4 of the 4 course meal she ordered. The Manager eventually comped our bill but it was after several complaints and she was rude. Her comment was she got the main entree and it was just a salad, which was not true. When we are spending $200 plus at a restaurant, I expect Management to be very customer focused. We will not be dining at this restaurant in the future. read more

My wife and I came to this Red Lobster since we haven't been to one in years and this one was close by. The wait time was about 40 min so we waited at the bar and ordered a tea and water. It took about 5-10 min to get the drinks which came with very little ice and a watered down tea. The restaurant seemed somewhat clean as we sat their and looked around but the bartenders did seem a little unorganized and understaffed as several people waited for there drinks. Our name was finally called and were escorted to our table which was missing chairs...while we waited for the missing chairs to arrive we asked to be moved to a booth. The waiters were actually very courteous and attentive, we placed our orders and waited 20-30 min for our food to arrive. We ended up ordering a three entree item, 7oz sirloin, coconut shrimp and flounder which we ordered all fried. Once the food finally arrived, the sirloin was over cooked and tuff, the flounder had no taste and the shrimp had to much coconut according to my wife. Overall the service was great, the food was below par and the cleanliness of the restaurant was tolerable. The best part of this experience was the biscuits which were amazing...enjoy. read more

Red Lobster is usually a no-fail option for me when I want some good seafood. Dinner options can be expensive, so it's always good to go during lunchtime. We've had some good experiences here and other times haven't been good. This most recent experience was pretty disappointing. Our server was not attentive at all, extremely slow, and made our dining experience with three kiddos an absolute nightmare. We sat down at 12:15PM on a Thursday and it was pretty slow, not busy at all. We didn't leave the restaurant until after 2PM and there was only 3 adults and 3 kids (2 of which got kids meals). A lot of people who sat down way after us, left way before us. It was really bad and disappointing since the server got a lot of our menu options wrong too. I'm not sure which was worse at this location: the food or the service. We arrived a little over an hour before closing. Once the waitress took our drink order she didn't return to our table for over 30 minutes. Instead, sat at another table with other customers (who she seemed to know). After we finally ordered and she brought our biscuits to the table they were so crunchy we couldn't eat them (very disappointing since this is by far my favorite item). Then, my husband's crab legs were so small that they contained about a tablespoon of meat (which was the main item of the meal he ordered). Gotta say-the lunch was exactly was I was expecting. Good service with ok food. I was seated right away with the host asking if I preferred table or booth. The waitress came right away and took my drink order. She gave me plenty of time to look over the menu when I explained I did not know what I wanted. Great service through out the meal. However, the food did not live up to the service. Ordered a cup of lobster bisque. Not a lot of lobster meat. Also ordered a lobster and shrimp roll. Roll was nicely toasted but the lobster meat was mushy and two of the shrimp were not completely cooked. The three stars are an average of the service and the food. Service would have been a 4.5 while the food would have been a 1.5. Most likely won't be back for a while even though is very close to work. read more

I haven't been to a Red Lobster since I was about 6. My boyfriend and I decided to go here after we got off work on Easter. Our server was Charles. He was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. We ordered the seafood spinach dip appetizer which was excellent and came out pretty quickly. My boyfriend ordered lobster linguini and I ordered a sampler platter. We shared both items.
