The owner is very attentive and accommodating. My wife ordered her portobello mushroom sandwich. And I ordered my usual Ruby's chicken sandwich. Yummm!!! Delicious and yet, not so filling. My wife and I were looking for a lite lunch and this was a perfect choice. Also, their patio dining is so relaxing and pet-friendly. This is the second time we've brought our dog here. The server filled up his water bowl. For dessert, we ordered gelato from the inside counter. I got the ube gelato and my wife got the coconut one. Aaahh!!! Nice way to finish our lunch! This place is soooo good! I don't know where to begin, so I'll just start off from walking in the door. We were warmly welcomed right away and given a choice of seating inside the small dining area or on the patio. It was a chilly morning, but they have patio heaters so we opted for outside, where it was comfortably warm with the heater nearby. We were given menus and a chance to look them over before ordering. I had the portobello Benedict and it was really good with tender portobello mushrooms, perfectly poached eggs and a yummy red pepper sauce. Hubby had the brisket breakfast burrito - we ended up sharing and I'm so glad! After breakfast we decided to order one of their "celebrity" latte's - I got the one with Lucille Ball a s hubby got the Marilyn Monroe. I've been working on the same block as Red Maple Cafe since this summer, and we've gotten lunch taken out from here a couple of times. It's not my favorite place in our rotation, but it's okay, with a varied menu. I've had the soba noodles and the chicken tinga tostadas (that should give you an idea of the spread on this menu), and both were on the fine side of mediocre. The soba noodles were served cold with cucumbers, red peppers, carrots, red cabbage, green onion, and a house soy ginger vinaigrette. It was tasty enough, especially when I amped it up with a little soy sauce and sriracha. The tostadas weren't bad, just a bit bland. These were three corn tostadas with chicken breast, onion, house tinga sauce, smashed avocado, lettuce, pico de gallo, lime crema, and cotija cheese. I'll bet it would've been better with a hearty dose of Tapatio--next time. Red Maple Cafe is decidedly not an Asian or Mexican joint, of course, so it's possible that I've been ordering wrong. I guess it's more of a breakfast and gelato place, and I'm sure both of those are good. I just can't pass up the chance to get something other than a salad or sandwich at work, and I'm glad, at least, that Red Maple offers a range of options. read more

Unfortunately a mediocre experience today. Nice waitress but the food wasn't great. French toast was super mushy and undercooked inside, as well as hard undercooked potatoes in the brisket burrito. The bright spot was our Belgian waffle and mint watermelon, which were good. We sat near the back hallway and could sense tension from the manager, which was uncomfortable at times. Red Maple is such a cute little gem of a cafe I just found in Burbank!! It's towards the Toluca Lake side. It has a cute cozy feel with a nice well decorated outdoor patio. Red Maple is the type of cafe where you order up front, get a number and then sit down. All the dishes we had were great. The pico and sour cream on top of the Papas con Chorizo was delicious and really brightened the dish. NOTE - the Chorizo is like sausage chunks and not ground/minced pork. One of the employees told me it's imported from Spain. The Portobello Benedict is a great option for those eating healthier and avoiding carbs, great for Keto. The Lemon Ricotta Berry Bliss French Toast was heavenly, especially when you get hints of lemon in your mouth. It's definitely a heavier dish so I would recommend sharing the plate instead of making that your meal. The staff is super friendly, welcoming and very helpful!! There is plenty of street parking. Trying to get a table was a little confusing at first because there were no signs out front that you order inside and then get seated with your number. I felt a little rushed because it's very busy and cramped inside. Once you get that all figured out it's alot smoother. There's a good variety of lunch and breakfast items on the menu and they're very very accommodating to food allergies and preferences. I ordered the Red Maple breakfast sandwich with a tumeric & ginger chai tea latte, and my hubby ordered the breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and had beautiful presentation. We were seated outside on the patio, it was very comfortable. The service was great, we were checked on several times. The food did take a little while to come out but since that was printed on the menu I knew to expect a small wait time, I appreciated that. Awww this place is such a hidden little gem. My mom and I came in on a Sunday around 1pm. There was a short 20 minute wait, but the ladies even thanked us for our patience. This place has an extensive list of hot/cold coffees and teas as well as juice. They serve breakfast all day which is the class, but they also serve sandwiches and salads and appetizers. I enjoyed their chicken bowl and it was quite tasty and my mother had the butter squash kale salad and added a chicken tender which one is very tasty. My wandering eyes cannot help but notice the chicken with red velvet waffles of the person sitting next to me and what seem to be some banana pancakes that look delicious as well. Think food truck experience with a few more chairs. You would think a small venue would want to maximize space -not the case here. Slightly overwhelming for staff and patrons... Definitely order ahead and pick up for a better experience; Time is not of the essence here, it took about 75 minutes from the when we got our seats to the moment we had our food. At about 80% capacity 6 staff members, and about 45 patrons (most of which were already eating upon our arrival). Note: one needs to place their order at the counter. Their handicap (short table) was definitely an afterthought; Having strangers bump you constantly as they walk in and out of the -hot and dusty, outside patio. Fake, dusty, flower pots are more important than walking room. There's about 12 chairs inside if you're the type of person that doesn't like to sweat during breakfast. Note: no refills on drinks -even coffee. Parking is easy if you're lucky enough to find a spot on the streets. Noticed some people use 2 spots at the vacant dry cleaners across the street. We ordered the Breakfast sandwich, Portobello Benedict, and a single pancake -50 minutes wait for these, my wife really enjoyed the Benedict but I was not happy with how bland the sandwich and pancake were. Ok, I have a story to share. It's 2 years late in sharing, but its never too late to share a story about the kindness of others. Today marks the anniversary of my father dying from pancreatic cancer. He wasn't eating much and a friend had taken me out for lunch and I introduced them to Red Maple cafe. I remember ordering the brisket sliders and noting how tender the meat was. I asked the waitress if it was possible to get a small scoop of the brisket, before it went into the sauce. She did inquire why and I explained that sauces had a tendency to upset my dad's stomach. She went back to the kitchen, talked with a manager and they got me a small portion, about 1/4th of a cup for him. I tried paying, but they gave it to me for free. I did leave behind a good tip in the jar. I had to blitz it a little and I added it to his egg that night. He really enjoyed it and the food stayed down. My father died a week later and this was one of the last foods he got to enjoy. So, the food is really good. We, as a family always enjoyed eating there together. Everyone working there is really nice and they care about their customers. So, I hope everyone supports this business and everyone who works there because they're the best. read more

The Breakfast Sandwich really is just a well-made breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, applewood bacon on your choice of bread. My only beef with the sweet drinks is that they are overly sugary and you lose the flavor of the coffee completely.
