Since the beginning of the pandemic, my husband and I have conducted our own personal search for the best pizza place in Cary. We eat a Margherita pizza every Friday night and have tried six different non-chain restaurants. The best, by far, is Pizzeria Veritas! Their crust is the best tasting and is thin, but crisp and their sauce on the pizza is delicious! Their fresh mozzarella cheese and basil are tasty. All I can say is thank god for this place. I had started to despair of ever finding great pizza in this area, having relocated here recently. I can't say enough good things about this pizza. Their sizes are HUGE, fair warning. Crust is great- nicely savory and not bland. Toppings, cheese, everything was high quality and absolutely excellent. Being from the Northeast, I love a good thin NY style pizza. After moving to Raleigh I thought I'd never have good pizza again until Pizzeria Veritas. All I can say is Wow!!! I've tried the Greek and the white pizza and both were amazing. Perfect crust with just the right crunch. Fresh toppings, bubbly cheese and great customer service to top it off. Our first time eating here but definitely not the last. I had the lunch special - 2 slices of pizza. They were the biggest slices I have ever seen or eaten. They were so big I couldn't finish them so my husband had to help me. It was the best thin-crust I've had this side of NYC. Also got 2 garlic knots - delicious. My husband had the 8" Philly cheese steak. He said it was delicious. The restaurant is in a strip mall with not a lot of atmosphere but the food definitely makes up for that. They"ve only been open a few months but they should do well. When we are in Cary at lunchtime we will definitively be eating here again. read more

I moved down here about two years ago and have searched for a proper New York slice- wide/thin enough to fold, a layer of marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese. Simple yet beautiful. Each experience yielded excellent customer service- the employee taking our phone order was very polite, and we were also met with the same politeness when picking up our pizza. Their pizza was very good- sauce tasted great, cheese was fresh, the crust wasn't dry or too thin. This is my favorite pizza place. The pizza is incredibly good and the slices are huge so I just need one. The staff is friendly. There is outside or inside seating and a the location is easy to find on Maynard. The art inside is really cool and talking points. There are TV's also and have fresh herbs growing by counter. Every time I try to order from Veritas it is 1.5 - 2.5 hours before they can fulfill my order. I just tried to order midweek at 5:15 and it was an hour and 20 minute wait. Many times they will not allow you to order a large pizza because of their oven capacity at busy times. However they will take the order for two mediums - doesn't make sense. You can have your tiny little "gourmet" pizzas at "chain" pizzerias, but if you want satisfying, hearty food that is over-the-top excellent, Pizzeria Veritas is the place to go. Ordered through DoorDash and received a message that my order of 1 pepperoni pizza would be ready at 6:30. Showed up at 6:35 and waited 45minutes before my pizza was ready. Took over the old Brooklyn Boys pizza joint so we tried them out (close to home too!). Amazed! Went back again in less than a week. Nice owners, decor is mellow, art is cool, price is right, and Pizza tastes sooo good. Our kids ate the whole huge slice (10 & 7 = super picky) and it's nice to have a NYC style place to go to. Went in person & ordered their "16 inch, one topping" special that night for takeout. Had their spicy pepperonis on one half, bacon on the other. It was EXCELLENT!!! Even though it's not as close to our house as some of the other pizza places, we will go back to Pizzeria Veritas every time now. Honestly wasn't sure what to expect. This place is awesome. Granted this review is only for a cheese pie and some knots, but it was genuinely great. Ask for it a little well done and there's no flop. Best deal in town in terms of getting your money's worth of food. One of the most significant criteria for me involves ample portions. I was shocked to see that I over-ordered when Steve brought out the two slices that I requested; two slices, yes, but each was the size of an individual pizza. The hook was set.
