Finally got the chance to try Deli Seoul after having it bookmarked for so long! I ordered the Steak and Egg sandwich with the everything egg bagel + Seoul Surfer sandwich with the sourdough bagel. Both sandwiches were so delicious! I enjoyed how the bagels were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They offer a variety of sauces and coffee on the side counter. I tried the Steak and Egg sandwich with their gochujang sauce and it elevated it even more. Not to mention the amazing service! The owner was super kind and gave us great bagel recommendations. I had asked for the cheese to be on only half of the bagel because I have a dairy intolerance (but my friend wanted to try the bagel with cheese). I loved how they wrapped each side so that the cheese wouldn't touch the other side. If Deli Seoul was closer to where I lived, I would be here every morning. Deli Seoul is delicious! Came here after running the OC 1/2 with my friends and it was spectacular. Staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is casual with some items being self serve and some the staff provided. Bagels are made fresh and are displayed right next to the kiosk as you order. There are classic options as well as Korean fusions. I highly recommend the steak and eggs on the Jalapeño cheese Bagel. What a cute bagel shop! I always love supporting small businesses and I swung by since I saw it was run by a mom and her son. Deli Seoul offers fusion bagels with a Korean twist. Took my mom here after her post-op checkup and while she is not a bagel fan in general--she LOVED every bite of the steak bagel we shared. Was like an elevated bagel breakfast sandwich: tastier, cheesier, and I appreciated the mild kick the spicy mayo gave it. Service was quick, easy, and the space was full of vinyls and good music. A few weeks ago, at midnight, I started craving Korean food and Deli Seoul was one of my top three contenders to check out this morning. Unfortunately for them, kimbap, pizza, and bagels are the only things I could tolerate so I came the next day. I got the tofu bowl and three kimbaps. The kimbaps they made fresh and were sooooo good. I also picked up a sweet cinnamon punch since they were out of rice punch. V good. I could actually drink it without throwing up! (Morning sickness. It is rare that I come across a business that immediately makes me feel like I am family. From the moment I entered, to the time I left, it truly felt like the type of restaurant that the community deeply loves. Deli Seoul is exactly that. It has a properly sized menu (not the kind that tries to do a million things), and does so in a humble yet creative way. This is not the type of place that tries to upsell you, they offer breakfast and lunch options with Korean flavors at fair prices. Delicious and homey. I ended up getting the Seoul Steak and Egg Sandwich (on Egg Everything Bagel). The owner apologized that since it was towards the end of the day, there weren't as many bagel options, but that was understandable. I also ordered the Corn Silk Tea and the owner gave me a sample of it after he asked if I had it before. It was my first time trying the tea so this was greatly appreciated. It tastes similar to a Genmaicha but with a toasted kettle corn flavor. Refreshing on a hot day! While I waited, I noticed how nice the seating area was. There was ample space for customers and it would even be a nice spot to study. The wall decor had tons of records and there were some small couches for extra seating. There was also a bar area with some coffee and condiments. I noticed some sauces and the coffee creamer were kept in a mini fridge which is a nice touch. The owner noticed I was reading the sign about his mom's homemade hot sauce and ran to the back to grab me a fresh bottle to use and my food also came out around the same time. Three customers came in after I placed my order and they seemed like regulars with how they interacted with the owner. I got the same vibe when I waved goodbye and he made sure to refer to me by name. I say all of this because you simply don't get this type of interaction nowadays. The bagel was perfectly toasted, crisp exterior and soft inside. Fluffy eggs. The steak was thinly cut and marinated well. I recommend getting a side of the hot sauce on their counter. It's not very spicy but has great flavor, similar to a gochujang base with a punch of sesame. This shop is located in a large lot with many other businesses. It's right next to The Habit on Harbor Blvd. Plenty of parking. Staff are very sweet. I went with the build your own (I don't recall the choices I made). They have a few bagels to select from, a couple of protein choices and there's the cheese. The staff was super nice and the owner was great. Made sure we were taken care of. The sandwiches are made to order and can take a couple minutes (it's totally worth the wait). We got our order to go, as we just got off a 6 hour flight and wanted to relax. The bulgogi in the sandwich smelled great in the car and tasted just as good as it smelled. The sandwiches don't travel well ( we took em back to Irvine). This is why I didn't give them the 5 stars. I had to stop by after seeing consistent 5 star Yelp reviews. They have a creative selection of breakfast sandwiches. The Steak and Egg sandwich is not steak but bulgolgi, egg product, one or two kinds of cheese, and spicy mayo on a bagel, or a croissant for a dollar more. The egg product used was like a steamed egg or custard-very soft but not sweet, thankfully. I think a fried egg or a chive omelet would be better. The texture of the egg was like tofu and didn't taste like egg. The color was yellow and too uniform to resemble fresh scrambled egg. OK, enough about the complaint about the egg. The overall flavor of the sandwich was excellent. With multiple rich ingredients, I think some green onion, arugula, cabbage or radish would be great on this. The atmosphere is informal - a little cluttered with many homemade signs and album art on the walls even though no music was playing. I never like to see doors wide open because of flies and the exposed kitchen area was similarly disorderly. Still, places like these can make killer food so I never let that stop me. The food is the bottom line. The service was very good. I felt like a regular after one visit. If it was closer, I would probably come back tomorrow to try a different sandwich and see if they sometimes use fresh cracked eggs. The man taking our orders was really enthusiastic and helpful, not only when taking our orders, but also going out of his way to clean our table before we sat, recommending their sauce, and telling us to take more Hi-Chew's while we waited which I thought was pretty nice! It was about a 20-25 minute wait today, I'm not sure if it's because it was Black Friday or if it's always that busy in the morning, but be prepared for that. At around 10:30 AM they start serving rice bowls and kimbap too! The food was well worth the wait! I personally did a DIY bagel, and the ingredients they use were amazing. I went with a sourdough bagel with pepper jack cheese, bacon, lemon pepper, furikake, scrambled eggs, and tomato, and it was delicious. I tried their bulgogi kimbap as well and I liked it! I think everyone enjoyed their bagels as well, so it was a good choice this morning. I'd recommend Deli Seoul to anyone around the area in Costa Mesa, the service given was above and beyond and so were our bagels! read more

This place definitely deserves its 5 stars. High quality food, awesome flavors and great people. The guy who took my order (maybe the owner?) was super cool and you could tell he really strives to provide great service to everyone who comes in. I got the Seoul steak sandwich on an egg bagel and I was so hungry and it was so delicious that I ate it while driving and forgot to take a photo... smh Inside was clean, plenty of tables and I like how they have an assortment of Korean snacks in the front.
