Ordered the chicken and waffles. Not good. Chicken looks like it will have flavor but didn't. Waffle was dense and kind of gummy. Grits were not good. Very soupy and had a smell that seemed off and slightly fishy. Would not recommend. read more

My first visit. Had heard good things. I must've hit on an "off" day. Server struggled with timeliness. First coffee not hot. Extended wait for food. Ordered poached eggs medium. They were very runny. Pancakes barely warm and appeared not fresh and hot off griddle. Served without syrup. By the time syrup arrived, they were cold. Bacon was good. Like I said, maybe an off day. I asked why a wall that used to be covered with pictures was now empty and gave the place an abandoned vibe. I was told new owners took over in Nov 2022 (this review is from Mar 2023). I am surprised the new owners haven't done anything with the wall to make the place more appealing. At least put ip new paint or wallpaper or something. The food was okay. I had a Meat Meat Meat. Now, being all meat I was expecting the omelette could be a little greasy. I wasn't expecting enough grease that I could have lubed up a automobile garage. Only ate a portion of the food. This is a safe spot for breakfast. Very well priced and something for everyone. My initial thought is not much flavor from the items we ordered this time. I got the sausage egg muffin with hashbrowns and my partner got the pulled pork burrito. I asked for cheese on the hashbrowns and a very small amount was put on. The food was more on the bland side so I asked for their house salsa which helped elevate the experience. The pulled pork in the burrito was more flavorful. Cirilo is an incredible server. We sat at the bar top and he was super attentive. We loved chatting with him. While talking, we met new owner Michelle. I have so much hope for the business after hearing what her and her husband have planned!! She shared that their coffee menu will be more robust. You can typically order coffee or a basic latte, but they plan to create a whole experience with various flavors. Mimosas are also in the works for the brunch experience a long with many more delicious menu items! I can't wait to check it out again once the new ownership gets acclimated. read more

I recently discovered this little gem. Had a lot of meetings near by and to beat traffic I would often leave early and have time to stop here and have breakfast and coffee. Michelle and her staff are great and all have been very sweet and excellent service. They also feature local artists work that you can purchase. This really adds to the vibe in here and helps the local art community. It's breakfast type foods which are hard to mess up. I highly recommend coming here. read more

There's absolutely no way all of these five star reviews are legit. I live right across the street from this place and was excited to see there was new management recently, as it sucked super bad before new management, but believe it or not they are way worse now. I've been twice since management change. The food sucks. The menu isn't great, and the prices have to be a joke... 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 pancakes is $20!!!!!!! And it's not even anything to write home about. Beyond that I have had the absolute worst service and experience here every time I've gone. I went today and they got my order wrong TWICE, blamed it on them being busy (even though this place has 10 tables max and there was at least four servers working that I counted). The waitress left us sitting multiple times and we saw people come and go while we were still waiting for our food order to be taken. She literally messed up everything down to separating the bill and running cards. They did nothing to try and rectify their multiple errors. The manager brought my friend her food and I was still waiting for mine and he looked at us and asked us what he should do? Like what do you mean? You should go get my food?! He also told us he's always having to babysit his wait staff which felt super unprofessional and embarrassing for him... if you have to babysit your wait staff there is a larger problem. The other time I went we actually got up and left because they brought our drinks in filthy cups that had finger print and lipstick stains on them. No idea how this place gets any business. In one of our many drives to Oklahoma and back we decided to find a new breakfast place in route. The Rising Sun was a great diversion and had awesome staff. I really enjoyed that they had a table below all the artwork with to/go containers and more coffee cream if you wanted extra. The food was enjoyable and all the coffee cups came in to go foam containers that they offered lids for at the end so we could take them with us when we're ready to leave. I really love the feature of self service. I had the 2 egg breakfast with eggs over easy their homemade sausage and hashbrowns. It was fantastic. Another member had a mushroom Swiss burger with okra and it was really cooked perfect and great seasoning. The sausage burrito was really good And so was the haystack.
