It's the sort of thing where it was a little cheaper I might give them four stars but they're expensive enough so that the quality doesn't really warrant the price. If I could give zero stars I would. We have now had two bad experiences here but, last night was the worst. So, get this, we ordered an order of wings and 2 burgers. Not rocket surgery right? Wrong. First the wings come and both my wife and I agree that the blue cheese dressing is spoiled. We send it back. The "new" blue cheese dressing comes and is just as bad. So, is your blue cheese dressing so bad that it tastes spoiled regularly.......oof. Then the burgers come. We both ordered patty melts. If you have ever eaten a patty melt it's pretty straightforward, grilled onions and cheese on a burger served on GRILLED rye bread. I have eaten (conservatively) 100 patty melts in my lifetime. The inside was all there but it was served on toasted rye bread. Not grilled. Not the end of the world but, it just shows what an amateur they have in the kitchen here. Then we try to continue eating the wings (they took so long to bring back the horrible blue cheese dressing that the burgers came first) to find that they are undercooked, pink in the center. I have to tell you this really pissed me off. What the F**K is wrong with you serving me a plate of salmonella? The "manager" came over when the first thing happened (dressing) and kinda stood there not saying much. No one came over to address nearly killing us with bacteria. F**K these people. Let them eat their own dog shit. Don't eat here. EVER. I feel sorry for our server who was very nice and dealt with all this very well. I can't say as much for their management. How about getting a cook who can tell time? Go to Finis Landing on Swan and Sunrise instead. It's a 5 minute drive from Risky Business and is everything RB wishes it was. When I called they said they have a dog friendly patio, so we took our mini schnauzer and went there for dinner. When we arrived we were told that the dog friendly patio is only open when the patio doors are closed, and they weren't. I have no idea what the hell that means, but we were turned away. We've been to this restaurant many times, primarily out of convenience, and the fact that it's a decent place to get a beer and watch sports on TV. But really, if you're looking for any more than that, you'll be quite disappointed in this place. I've quietly complained, and even not so quietly complained, but my experience there tonight has motivated me to complain to any yelp user out there interested in listening. I would like to say that some of these issues were isolated issues, but I'd be lying....they're problems that only continue to repeat themselves. So, for starters, we arrive, a party of 5 on a Monday night in a restaurant only about 10-20% full. It takes the hostess, who we interrupted from what I'm sure was some very important business on her cell phone, about 6-7 minutes to manage to get us a table. There were only about 30 tables available. The one bright spot was the very sweet waitress, who I'm sure is soon to figure out that her talents and personality are wasted in a place like this. She was very helpful guiding a couple of picky indecisive eaters in our party toward menu selections they were very happy with. Drinks and appetizers served quickly, but right around the time our entrees should have been coming out, the waitress, embarrassed, came out and told us the shrimp dinner that two of us ordered was unavailable. Sure, things happen, but this should have been brought to our attention immediately. Not 20 minutes after we ordered. So, replacements were ordered. A burger and an appetizer. 15 minutes later, 3 entrees come out, but no burger or appetizer for another 10. The kitchen could have easily prioritized this order when this mistake was discovered, but wasn't smart enough to do so. We're now about an hour and 15 minutes into our visit before we have our burgers and salads at a simple restaurant that's only 20% full. Did I mention the floors....disgusting. Hadn't been swept probably all day. Not as bad as the one time I was there where we couldn't get rid of flies though, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. Again though, very sweet apologetic waitress. Was nice enough to comp one of our appetizers, but when she brought out the bill, realized she forgot to. She rushed back to get the manager to help, but told us the manager would be a while. Brought back memories of the time I ordered a salad there that came out with a long hair in it....and then a burger with a hair....asked for the manager, explained the problem. He reached down on my plate, pulled off the hair and said..."I guess I could have the kitchen make you another one, but we're a little backed up. It could be a while." This guy's and idiot, who, for whatever reason, isn't worried about job security. Anyway, I so rarely complain on yelp...I can't remember if I've ever done so, actually. But this was the straw that....you know....makes me never want to go back again. Total dump, dirty, slowest kitchen I've ever seen, and the poorest-managed restaurant I've ever stepped foot in. read more

Full disclosure, a relative of mine worked here, so I've eaten at Risky Business on numerous occasions, but I think I've had ample opportunity to fully assess this place... A relic of the recent fin-de-siècle, Risky's is an aptly named revamp of the failed "Ventana Grill," a midpriced American that never quite took flight after two attempts in the mid-90s. The new concept seems to have stuck: a family-oriented (in the daytime at least) sports bar, which embodies all of the hedonistic virtues of that prosperous era... a wide-ranging menu (salads to ribs to pizza to burgers to seafood to pasta to steak) that is wide in palate (asian, italian, southwest, mexican and cajun influences), carb heavy (the so-called "angry" mashed potates), and heaping in portion. Desserts are monstrous and unabashedly decadent. I was never truly impressed with the cooking; it seemed to try to please too many people at once, and never really scored well at anything in particular. Often they went a little haywire with the jerk seasoning, which always hurt on the way out. Particularly in these lean, recession hit days, where such extravagance seems out of fashion, it's surprising to note how little has changed at Risky's...even the loud fire-engine-red decor and staff attire (cargo shorts, ankle socks, running shoes) seems dated. The bar really seems to be the primary attraction here...well stocked, with TVs at every angle, and filled with regulars: Air Force types, guests from the resort up the road. But if you truly like that gluttonous, stone in your gut feeling after you eat, don't let me stop you from going here! read more

Was in town for the weekend and wanted to catch the playoffs. Yelped a sports bar and this place came up. It was close to the resort and had decent yelp reviews. Didn't expect too much from a bar. Wanted a good beer,burger, and a TV. What I got was a beer that came out 20 minutes after ordering, the worst burger I have EVER eaten, and old ass tvs that weren't HD. My bar was set pretty low and this place still didn't come close to hitting it. This place was like one of those places you see on the show 'Bar Rescue'. Calamari heavily breaded and over cooked. Extremely chewy. Red sauce that it came with was good though. Burger was all wrong. Bun was soggy, bacon was tough, meat wasn't seasoned what so ever. Sweet potato fries were limp and greasy. After seeing their menu online I was quite impressed and decided to give it a try. First impression walking in: everyone who works here looks miserable, tired, and defeated. A good word to describe it would be "arrugh". The hostess pretty much just dropped the menus on the table. I don't really blame them given the fact that whoever designed this place had one thing in mind: give you a giant migraine. It is a cacophony of random ugly colors and poorly designed lighting that could induce a seizure. onto the food. every dish with protein in it was DRY DRY DRY = microwaved reheat/thaw because it was uneven and definitely not made to order. I can only imagine what a nighmare the kitchen must look like. presentation was repulsive, I can pretty much find some chicken or ribs at the Albertsons deli area, microwave it and slap it on a place, you wouldn't know the difference. nothing looked appetizing. I was going to get some dessert but I am certain that given the quality of food it'd be best to avoid the dessert. I'm not comparing this to well run bar restaurants like Gordon Biersch / Yard house, but this is worse than Applebees on a bad day. I stopped by for a business lunch, and the meal was nice, but lacking. I ordered the Prime Rib Au jus (I think that was what they called it). I wanted onion rings so I asked if they were breaded or battered. The waitress said she didn't know, they just throw them in frozen. Turned out they were beer-battered. Good news is they are still tasty and thick cut, even if they don't make them themselves. The side salad that I added with the meal was bagged salad similar to Fresh Express (You know, iceberg, carrot and purple cabbage.) and nothing tasted original or any different than I can get at many fast food restaurants. Strawberry Lemonade had real strawberries added in for an additional Fifty cents, but every refill will cost another .50. It's a bar/grill so it was pub food. Only for 15 dollars without drinks I would have liked to know someone had taken a little effort. Staff was nice, but really slow to getting to us. We were first told to seat ourselves, then stopped half way by another waiter to show us a table, then a third waitress made a table for us. I don't know if they were vying for the tip, but I do know the experience overall does not make me want to rush back anytime soon. read more

So the very first time I went to Risky's was a date gone TERRIBLY wrong. I had a very sour taste in my mouth from that point on... Until... Risky's was redeemed when I came back with some friends after a soccer game, for drinks and apps. The service was friendly and the food was good. The fact that this is a locally owned business is a reason I keep coming back. I appreciate that when things aren't right they have done their best to fix them. There is a great mix of foods on the menu, good happy hours. Plenty of space and lots of TVs for sports viewing!! My favorites from the menu: WINGS WINGS WINGS!!! Big wings with lots of meat on the bones. The Seared Salmon salad is my favorite and I always get it Blackened. Its a HUGE salad with plenty of pieces of salmon, candied walnuts, tomatoes, bacon, and blue cheese crumble on a bed of fresh spinach and a light vinaigrette! So good! The mussels- do get them they are great! The bar is a bar- they carry everything but nothing too special. Tuesdays Kids eat free with purchase of an adult meal. They have specials every night of the week- but I don't remember all of them to list them. I will post them next time I'm there. read more

You know what makes me happy? Happy hour. And Risky Business has a mighty fine one. It's something like $1-2 off their drinks- which aren't pricey to begin with and you get good discounts on their tasty apps, including the spinach artichoke dip, shrimp, onion rings, fries and nachos. Perfect bar food. All in all, I think Risky Business is a pretty fun bar/restaurant I like to go to when I'm down in the Tucson way. The atmosphere is lively and the bar seems to be filled with quite a few regulars. That or the bartender has an amazing memory. The prices are very reasonable too! read more

You'll find us at Risky's at 5:30pm on Friday or Saturday with the kiddos - it's all families and Early Bird Specials. Not sure why they painted over the nifty reptile on the HVAC ducts, but they have the huge screen and the other screens and the big fat salads. Kids can be noisy and nobody cares, the beer selection is decent, and the patio is not fancy but does the job. Service is usually pretty good. It's a solid, reliable favorite dinner spot for us. read more

We moved away 5 years ago and haven't been back until today, but my 5 star review still stands! Great atmosphere, the wait staff is still so nice and attentive. The food is great. My wife had short rib tacos and they were so beefy. I found my Monterey chicken sandwich still on the menu and it's updated with some very good sourdough. This is what every normal American restaurant should be. Generous portions, varied options, tons of choices, and flexibility with substitutions. As a college student, I used to work at a RB here in Tucson and it's the ONLY restaurant where I've worked and will still eat. All of the dressings are made from scratch, as are the soups and salads. The food is a little on the pricier side, but it's such a huge step in quality above any other restaurant that tries to cater to the general American public that I'm willing to pay an extra two or three bucks for food that wasn't premade and frozen for months before being microwaved. The service isn't always amazing, but it's never horrible. The only disappointments I've had have been on take-out orders. read more

This would actually be a 3.5 star for us, if Yelp allowed it! We wanted a light lunch and ended up ordering the mussels off the appetizer menu and a cup of french onion soup each. The soup was okay, not bad but not the best. The thing that had us raving were the mussels. Garlicky but with a little sweetness from the honey in the broth. Served with a loaf of delectable bread and butter for dipping in the broth. We plowed through our first batch and decided to order round two. Didn't expect to have wonderful mussels like those and so we were pleasantly surprised. If we go back the next time we are in Tucson, I'll just have to remember to order something better to drink than the overly sweet lemonade. Our server was very nice and brought me a whole plate of lemon wedges when I asked so I could "tart up" my drink. I have to agree with one reviewer about the menus...they were sticky and could use a good scrubbing. The same with the little stand they put the drink and daily specials on. I wanted to wash up after touching these things. I was a Risky Business fan when I lived in Tucson but I don't know if I'd recommend this place to friends now based on the cleanliness issue. read more

Risky has an awesome happy hour that lasts until 7:00. Great when we leave the office later and can still make a happy hour. I like the caprese salad with grilled chicken and my husband always gets the wings. Plenty of locals go there so it is a friendly atmosphere. Good place to watch sports with lots of tv's. They have a nice rotating selection of craft beers on tap always served ice cold. One of our favorite local places. read more

I use to love the meatloaf here but today it was flavorless and over cooked. The normally yummy Demi glaze tasted like a bad gravy mix. The garlic mashed potatoes were dry and didn't even have a hint of garlic flavor. I had calamari also and the cocktail sauce was almost congealed, definitely not the correct texture. We have been going to Risky's for years and have always had excellent service and quality food. The last year or so we have tried to remain a loyal customer with this establishment but we have noticed a steep decline in portions, quality and time of service. There is usually a minimal amount of people there but it always seems to take a very long time, 30-45 mins for 3 meals with maybe 6 people in the restaurant. We usually order the kabobs, the Greek flatbread and assorted burgers. The last few times we went, including today, the flat bread was burnt where my fork was not able to penetrate the pizza crust. It had 2 Kalamata olives, 1 artichoke heart and 1 slice of red pepper. It was awful. I sent back the burnt one, only to receive a way smaller portion with less than 5 pieces of toppings on top in about 30 mins after my family had finished their meals. Again only about 5 people in establishment by now. My husband and my son ordered the forest chicken and the blackened chicken sandwich which consisted of flat sides burnt compressed chicken which was about the thickness of a slice of bread. Very disappointed in the service and the quality of food. Farrah the bartender waitress is the only spot of sunshine that is holding this place together. Thankful for her. I feel like the owner should up his game or fold and walk away. Whatever his plan was to cheapen everything is driving longtime consistent customers away. read more

Have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed myself. The bar staff is awesome and they are very friendly. I sometimes have to wait a little while before I get a drink refill if I am sitting outside on the patio, but that is the only complaint that I have. Every worker is very kind. I have never seen anybody getting out of hand at the bar. Risky's does a good job of cutting people off, as I have witnessed them having to do it on a couple occasions. They will even call people a cab if need be. Will always be a loyal customer. read more

I have eaten many times at Risky Business since 2008. Until recently the food & service was more than adequate. My wife & I went there for a early dinner last evening : The service was acceptable but the food was not the quality expected. The corn beef in my Ruben sandwich was tough, dry and burnt , The salmon in my wife's salad was pale and unappetizing. Stopped by to see the new decor. Looks nice, modern but not too different. The menu has changed a bit and some prices have gone up a bit so I wrote this review. For example, guacamole is extra when you order nachos - before it was included. Chicken tenders are about the same price but only three instead of four and they seem a little smaller. Happy-hour tacos are new but rather plain for $6 so hopefully the regular tacos are the same. Their burgers are also up in price but they are still epic! Don't get me wrong, I love this place. I just had to note the obvious changes and I heard the hours may change so check to make sure of their hours before you go late at night. read more
