Came here for a glass of wine and a bite before dinner and I think this is the perfect place for that. The back patio was comfortable and sheltered from wind. There were two of us and we split the table with a couple. The dates stuffed with goat cheese were a great little snack and I enjoyed the overall service and ambiance.

Came by on a Sunday during happy hour. We ordered a few food items off the happy hour menu: hummus and muhammara (a must!) with pita, aleppo fries, and falafel. We also ordered the non-happy hour burrata salad and the filet kebab. Our server was very attentive, though our main food items were somehow forgotten and we had to remind them.. but once they arrived, everything was great! I loved the pomegranate in the burrata salad. I also appreciated the non-alcoholic options, including my favorite Fentiman's rose lemonade. I would definitely recommend this place, especially for happy hour. My only small critique is the restroom, since the entire restaurant is so classy and chic, it would have been the perfect finishing touch if the restrooms matched the same vibe.

A super cute spot in the Marina, you'll often see people enjoying a glass of wine here in the evening or having a sunny brunch outside. I was part of the latter camp, and ordered the shakshuka and chilaquiles for me and my friend for a weekend brunch. The food was solid -- the chilaquiles had a good mix of crisp and spice, and the shakshuka was nice and tomatoey (although not hot enough for my liking). The service was slow, potentially exacerbated by us sitting outside. Had to ask for the check multiple times even though it wasn't busy in the restaurant.

Stopped by the check out roaming goat brunch! We tried two different shakshukas and I feel like they are the go to order for brunch. They had some other smaller dish selections but I felt like they might be better for later in the day. The service was great and the space is intimate.

Nice moody interior and outdoor seating as well! Love the tapas style but portions are small as expected - halloumi: delicious truffle honey went perfectly with the grilled cheese - falafel: this was a bit dry, barely any sauce to help it. I would expect a dive bar from the name but it's a nice Greek restaurant. We came here for dinner on a weekend and were able to get seated right away. They have outdoor seating which is more vibrant, and indoor seating which is very dimly-lit with a romantic/quiet vibe. There was a taro reader on site that evening (for a cost). They have happy hour options before 5 PM - I enjoyed the wine recommendation that I was given by the waiter. For the appetizers we got the Trio Spread- we were happy that we got the trio since we normally would just order hummus and labneh, but the Mahammara (bell pepper based) dip was our favorite- very tasty and flavorful. Also loved that they had Haloumi cheese on the menu which is a lightly grilled cheese that is sprinkled with honey. For entrees we had the chicken kebab and the Octopus. I love my octopus with a ton of tentacles showing, which this one did have. The grain called fregola that it came on top of was delicious, lightly doughy like gnocchi.

Really wanted to like this spot as I love Mediterranean food. There were two other tables being served and my order of buratta and Brussels took almost half an hour. The buratta was supposed to be on a bed of arugula but it was merely a garnish. The Brussels were tasty but very greasy. It was really cold out but the waiter wouldn't close the door as he said otherwise it looked like they were closed. I was also surprised that I was not offered pita or chips. Hope it's better next time.

Last Thursday I came with my husband and our little one (2 years old) around 5pm to enjoy some food. We decided to stay outside (the weather was kind of nice) and they served us right away. The lady who served us was very nice with us and our daughter. Speaking of food we ordered: dates, halloumi cheese, falafel and the chicken skewer for our daughter. Overall the food was just ok for us, nothing really outstanding. Dates were good but I suggest to put less goat cheese and for the chicken it was a little bit dry. Maybe the falafels were my favorite. We also had some wine too.

What a lovely find! I was in a search of a happy hour in the area and stumbled upon roaming goat. I was looking for something that had a good happy hour menu, drinks, and was dog friendly - and this place had it all. We sat outside and got several appetizers such as their trio plate, which is a must get! Their dips were so flavorful and came with a good amount of pita. I also really enjoyed the kefta meatballs, which has been my hyper fixation lately. The service was also really sweet and friendly, they gave my dog a water bowl and made sure that we were taken care of . I also really enjoyed their spritz on the happy hour item and will definitely come back just for that. We went on a really pretty day and their outdoor seating was well spaced out and not too busy. I hope to come back one day and try their indoor seating because it looked nice for an intimate date spot.

While the food at Roaming Goat is satisfactory, the prices keep it from being a repeater. Admittedly, the cost is symptomatic of an endemic of shared plates that are priced the same as mains, but given that all of Roaming Goat's menu items are shared plates, it is near impossible to get a full meal there without racking up a serious tab. Even the so-called "Medium" dishes are barely enough for more than a couple people to get a bite. Both my Burrata Salad and Brussels Sprouts were solid, but $30 for a meager amount of food is a non-starter. Both items were nicely composed but did nothing beyond the standard presentation of their main ingredients (with the exception of pistachios being a strong sidekick to the Burrata); salty Brussels and creamy cheese are tough to mess up. The restaurant has a jovial atmosphere, but unless you take serious advantage of the Happy Hour or have a deep-seated interest in Armenian wines, there is more interesting food nearby for a fraction of the cost.

This place has an excellent happy hour with beautiful wines and delicious bites. Outdoor sidewalk and parklet seating is the move but the interior is nice and cozy as well. Crispy falafel, seasoned fries, fresh dips, and the amazing stuffed dates all paired with a great selection of wine. We did try the lamb skewer that was not on the happy hour menu and it was the most disappointing bite out of everything we tried. However, the happy hour selection more than makes up for it! Also, service is really attentive and wonderful! They made sure we were satisfied and we enjoyed our time here so much that we got another glass of wine to stay for awhile longer.

Came here for wine night and tried some of their small bites as well. Cozy, nice atmosphere with friendly service! Definitely get the dip trio!! We also loved the burrata salad, skewers, falafel, and potato wedges. Great food & obviously lots of good wine options too, our waiter was nice and gave recommendations. Would be a cute date spot or nice place to catch up with friends! Highly recommend!

We had a great date night at Roaming Goat! The concept of Roaming Goat is nice - somewhere between casual and fine dining with a wine bar. A bit disappointed by the wines, if we're being honest - enjoyed 50% of the 4 types we tried. The starters were fine, probably a 3/5 but what saved them was the medium/main plates which were 5/5! We loved the angus filet kebab and brussel sprouts, which both felt unique and well made with varied flavor profiles. Service was excellent. It was quite expensive for tapas and wine so expect to spend quite a bit!

This bar in Cow Hollow deserves the high ratings! The staff was friendly & I loved my chicken burger & broccoli side. They are pretty busy busy with locals so you know they are consistent all around. There's Al fresco seating or lots of seating inside too. read more

Wine was delicious. Food was good but nothing to write home about. The servers were checking on us so frequently that it kept interrupting our conversation and time there though. I think they were trying to be nice but it was too much. Interiors and art weren't my taste. Probably would go other spots in the area for a wine bar. read more

Thrilled that my neighborhood is finally opening up some cool spots! Came here a while back with girlfriends and enjoyed a lovely evening out on the heated terrace. I am giving this place four stars because it feels pretty generic to me. Everything was delicious (dates, halloumi, lamb, salad, etc) but nothing STOOD out. I also feel like the menu is redundant and no dish is particularly unique. TLDR; roaming goat isn't reinventing the wheel but they've got the basic wine night locked down! The Roaming Goat is amazing! I came here with my friends and ended up staying for 6 hours. It has everything you'd want, fantastic wine, amazing food, and phenomenal staff. Everyone is SO friendly and welcoming, This is definitely my new go-to spot! Highly recommend ordering the food to accompany the delicious wines, it's next level and both together are a perfect match. Hands down, definitely the BEST hummus I've had. I previously come to this place before and had amazing service and food so I was excited to show my friend this place. Came in this past Saturday with a friend and wanted to sit outside seating since we had dogs. We stood for a bit at the entrance until someone greeted us and then were told they will be with us shortly. We stood there for like 10 minutes while the wait staff passed us and noticed us. Had to go up to one of them again to ask if they just didn't have seating or what was the delay because we hadn't even put our name down or heard any updates on a timeframe. The waiter responded with oh I thought someone would have talked to you by now (mind you I can only see him and one other staff working and they both saw my friend and I standing by the entrance) to which I said no one has even spoke to us since the initial moment. He did apologize and mention they should have a table shortly because someone was leaving. By this point I think it just left a bad taste in our mouth. I don't think it was intentional and maybe they were just super busy but having some waitlist or a hostess especially on the weekend would ensure guests have some clear communication. read more

Went here with my girlfriend and wow, big mistake. Just wanted a glass of wine to share and asked the waiter if they had any natural wines on the menu. Instead, the owner / "somm" came out and proceeded to tell us about all the misconceptions about natural wine and how horrible California natural wines are. So after simply asking our waiter if they had natural wines to instead receiving a long rant from the owner on how horrible natural wine is, I can safely say I'm never coming back here. Extremely unprofessional response. What a joke but hope they see this as a learning experience. Also hope all natural wine producers in California see this review before visiting so they know how the owner feels about them. read more

I would recommend coming here for apps and drinks. They have a good wine selection and their apps are reasonably priced. Their entrees are tapas style and come in small portions. They're delicious but you'll need at least 3 to feel full. read more

Food, service and Armenian wine was excellent. There was an issue with the kitchen when arrived and they weren't ready to serve the hot dishes for an hour. We ordered what was available, enjoyed the delicious dips and wine and suddenly the kitchen was ready and ordered the hot prepared foods. The handling of the issue was done with class and honestly did not hamper our experience. We will be back. read more

My favorite spot -- good vibes, the best team, and tasty food. Whether a weekend or week night, the Roaming Goat provides the perfect wine bar experience. I get the halloumi and cheesecake every time I go (weekly), while the crispy Brussels sprouts and mahammara are my go tos when with a larger group. Came here for drinks and food after work. We got a great bottle of wine to share and got a few different plates. The hummus and the baba ghanoush were the stand out dishes. It's spacious, especially for a spot in the Marina. There's plenty of room between tables so you can actually hear your guests comfortably. The chairs are cozy, and the general vibe is fantastic. Tonight I came in with my mom and sister because I knew it'd be a hit, but I'll definitely be back for date nights and nights out with friends. The service really matches the great vibe, too; the staff was fast and incredibly attentive, constantly keeping our table clear of empty plates and making sure our water glasses stayed full all night. Pro-tip: Don't fill up on the delicious pita bread, and ask for extra tzatziki. The tzatziki is made in-house, super fresh, and lightly drizzled with authentic Greek kalamata olive oil. We started by sharing the saganaki (flaming cheese) and dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), and both appetizers were best-in-class. The saganaki comes with the spectacle of a mini fire show. It's so exciting to watch the staff walk out with swagger, pour the ouzo, and light it up. The cheese was crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside; perfect with the pita bread and a dab of tzatziki. This is a must-order if it's your first time here. The dolmades were exactly as they should be: very large, made with fresh leaves, and neither too vinegary nor soggy. They come in a set of three per serving. For the next course, we chose the horiatiki salad, which featured a beautiful mix of fresh tomatoes (cherry, heirloom, etc.), bell peppers, and a generous block of feta. It was incredibly crisp and bright, serving as a perfect, refreshing palate cleanser to prep us for the heavy main course. For our entrée, we ordered the lamb shank with orzo and a side of potatoes. The lamb was so well prepared it literally fell off the bone. The meat melted in my mouth, and combining a bite of that with a forkful of orzo rounded out the meal perfectly. To bookend the night, we had baklava and revani. The baklava was super flaky, drizzled with honey, and exceptional. The revani was something entirely new to me. I was so full I could only muster one bite, but that decadent slice of creamy citrus was the best final bite I could've taken. By the end of the night, we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. We all brought an appetite, but sharing this feast between the three of us still wasn't enough to finish it all. This place is an absolute treasure. It's the best meal you can have in the Marina, and the best Greek food in the entirety of the Bay.

It's not around the corner for me, but I'll happily catch the bus just to spend an afternoon or evening here. The cocktail program is unique, with drinks centered around sherry, vermouth, and wine rather than the usual spirits. Even if those aren't normally your go-to, trust the bartenders. They know their stuff and are always happy to recommend something you'll enjoy. The food changes with the seasons, featuring locally grown California produce. The bartenders are also welcoming, and make everyone feel like a regular. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, strike up a conversation, or simply enjoy your meal and drink at your own pace. As a fun bonus, they also organize trips to Spain. I joined one of them, and it was an incredible experience. It was thoughtfully planned, full of amazing food and wine, and gave me a deeper appreciation for the culture that inspires everything they do at the bar. Great drinks, excellent food, wonderful people, and a place that's worth going out of your way for.
