A nice place to catch up over friends with a glass of wine and some yummy food! I visited on a Wednesday around 7:30 pm with two other friends and we were seated right away. Inside it's dark and could get a little loud at times but we didn't have trouble hearing each other. We had all eaten dinner and were just looking for a little snack so we ordered two items to share. Crispy potatoes - we ate these up so fast. as the name suggests, they were very crispy. The sauce it came with paired so well too! Labneh - a thick yogurt sauce topped with some oil and seasoning and served with pita bread. something about this pita bread was so delicious and it smelled so good and bready! I think anyone would love this Domain Christophe blend - I don't have a refined palette for wind but as far as I could tell this was a nice crisp glass of white wine :) Staff was all friendly and I'd definitely return! read more

Sorry to disappoint after all the great reviews. I wish service was better so we could add a positive review for the Roaming Goat food scene. However, our experience was terrible. A highly disappointing experience with the host of the restaurant. We were treated with indifference and then plain rudeness upon asking the host to give us the table inside. They had a number of empty tables available. Our reservation was for the outside but space was very crowded and we asked to be seated indoors. We were ignored completely. We showed plenty of reservations still available on open table. The host did not lift a finger to try and accommodate us. He was very direct and suggested we find another restaurant. Both host and another host reeked of marijuana. Such attitude toward customers is appalling and I would never want to go back or recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. I hope the owner of the restaurant sees this review as the host himself is a manager. I am not sure that they are interested in making a good impression on their customers. My Brother and I ate at this place two weekends in a row. Our experience was amazing the first time, absolutely incredible. The following weekend I got tired of eating mediocre food at places that claimed to be great so, we decided again to visit Roaming Goat hoping for the same result. Nope, it wasn't! IT WAS BETTER. We tried different items on the menu and boy, we were having a celebration of culinary excellence. The service was amazing as well Brandon a knowledges us as soon as he saw us and knew that we will be trying lots of dishes so we were seated at the larger table to accommodate our many different starter dishes. My first time here although I believe Roaming Goat has been on Union Street for about a year. They are a welcome addition! I sat outside in the covered parklet under heat lamps, but they also have an indoor bar and cozy table seating. I was primarily interested in their selection of Armenian wines, which I don't believe I've seen anywhere else in SF. I sampled three and enjoyed them all, pairing them with an appetizer, entree, and dessert! My photos show my food and wine selections. All were delicious and lovely in their presentation. I grew up eating this cuisine, so I was expecting certain flavors and seasoning. One pleasant surprise was the baklava cheesecake dessert. It was neither, but rather a creamy yoghurt with a baklava tasting crumble, more like a parfait. It was delightful! Finally, I enjoyed the cheerful service of the attentive waitstaff. I was sharing my photos and experiences with friends while I was eating, and all were impressed, even with small details like the plates and glassware. I live only a few blocks away from Roaming Goat and decided to come here with some friends Saturday evening. We ordered some small bites and a bottle of wine over $100 after having a lovely discussion with the waiter. Maybe 10 minutes after all of our food arrived at our table and us each having only a few sips of our wine, a woman (not the waiter) gave us our check. There were plenty of open tables and nobody was waiting at the door to be seated for the entire duration of our meal. She then proceeded to return to our table every 5-10 minutes for the next hour asking if we were done for each plate of tapas we had ordered even though it was clear we were not finished.
