Today I called Robby's Rooter to repair my water pressure in my kitchen faucet. I was told I needed a new faucet. I am in no way complaining about the guy who showed up to repair our KITCHEN faucet today. I am very upset with the fact that i was charged $280. for a BATHROOM faucet to be installed in my kitchen. It clearly doesn't work properly!! I called to speak to someone and that's when the problem got even bigger. The woman who answered the call was rude, disrespectful, and actually had the nerve to mock me!!! The poor guy was so embarrassed. She couldn't even give me the actual price of the faucet and labor !! The faucet is $15-$25. on Amazon. I do t mind paying for the proper sink but come on people. She then told me that he gave me the quote before installing the faucet. I explained to her that it was shown to me in the box so I just assumed it was the right size... I mean they're the professionals right ?!? ‍ HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I'm only giving one star for the sweet guy that came to help. These people are AWFUL & UNPROFESSIONAL !! Jaime was here on time. He went to work right away, and explained the clogging problem clearly. He recommended preventative measures as well. Jaime came out on a Saturday and really worked hard to clear out my roots in the main line. I have Sycamore trees in the yard, and although I had a main line replacement (20') about 10 years ago, I SHOULD have been doing routine preventative rooter service all this time,..... but I neglected to! As a result, when my clean-out rubber top popped off this morning and the sewage spilled out into the lawn, I knew I had waited too long. Jaime dug in and used two different sized blades to chop through the blockage and clear my line. I'm scheduling every 8 months preventive maintenance with Robby's from now on. And the price for Saturday was consistent, if not a little bit lower than others that I called, but that were unavailable. Robby's is local to me in Highland Park and I'm happy to know they will be taking care of me in the future. read more

I hope Robbys reads this. I don't want to get anyone in particular in trouble, so I'm posting here instead of complaining directly. Your plumbers are EXCELLENT, BUT: When a plumber walks into your home with a plastic pan that's covered with other people's brown sewage (excrement?), it's really quite disgusting. I even offered to provide my own pail if he'd put the filthy one back in the truck, but he either didn't understand or didn't want to be bothered. Please find a way to have your plumbers provided with sanitary implements when they enter someone's home. read more

As a building manager, I call Robby's on a regular basis. I always get great service from the plumbers that come out, but I have been getting attitude from the women who answer the phones. I know one of them is Robby's wife, and she has been extremely rude. It's a real turnoff because when I am quoted a time frame and tell a tenant to be home, and the plumber doesn't show up, it us not unreasonable for me to call and find out what the updated ETA is. When I get bad attitude coming at me over the phone, it's unlikely that I will be calling back for their service. read more

Robby rooter over billed and stated they installed a garbage disposal when THEIR dispatch got the order wrong! So in order to prove that they didn't install a disposal but rather cleared a clogged drain, they were stuck on arguing that they installed it and now must send someone over to PROVE that we aren't telling lies! In addition the tenant has to be disrupted from their day so I may enter their apartment just to verify we are telling the truth. It was bad enough the initial work order called for it when in fact that's not what they were told, it was a clogged sink people! I seriously don't know how they stay in business and unfortunately the owners have worked with them for years, you would think there was trust. I had go on a 3-way call so that I could confirm exactly what was done along with the owner on phone. I felt so bad because RR stressed the owner out which was obvious through the intonation. I wish the owners would use another company because this company doesn't know how to treat their customers. And my recent visit from them for another clog, their plumber thought it was acceptable to help themselves to the tenant's Clorox wipes and paper towels to clean the mess they made. read more

I would give this 0 stars if possible. I setup an appointment with a 3 hour window for the plumber to arrive. I had a clogged shower and thought it would be a simple snake (not to take too long). I called after waiting 2.5 hours to check on the plumber's status, and was told he would be there an hour after the 3 hour window. I cancelled him coming then, as I had work, and rescheduled a second visit with a 9am-12pm window. I called at 8:30am and was told the plumber was on his way and would be there at 9am. 10am came and I cancelled the appointment, as he hadn't arrived. I got several calls at 10:30am saying the plumber was at my doorstep. After explaining that I had cancelled the appointment due to him being an hour late and scheduling my day around that, I was told I would be charged the service fee of roughly $80. I spoke with the manager (Rita?) and she raised her voice with me over the phone throughout our conversation, cut me off, and told me I was 100% in the wrong. I explained that there was miscommunication on behalf of the girls that answered the phone and the plumber - they did not communicate our cancellation to the plumber, and then wanted to charge me for the trip made. As I would begin outlining the events, she would cut me off, and finally hung up on me. My tone was calm yet confident, and she was emotionally agitated and brash. I do not recommend. read more

I've dealt with many plumbers over the past few years, and have dealt with three different plumbers in the last few weeks (different issues), so I have a pretty good perspective on plumbers. Out of all of them, this was the worst experience I've had. First issue: the plumber was late by 25 minutes. The window they provided was 10-1, the plumber arrived at 1:20 and proceeded to sit in his can looking at his phone for another 5. Not good. Plumbing issues are disruptive and a customer needs to feel like the plumber is taking the issue seriously. Second issue: the plumber is slow as hell and has been huffing, puffing and sighing his way through the entire job. I don't think this guy is in any shape to efficiently handle major plumbing issues by himself, and he certainly doesn't have a good attitude about it. Third issue: the plumber did not inform us that he would turn off the water. We simply discovered the water was off. It's nice to know these kinds of things in advance! Anyway, it took the guy 3 hours to snake the toilet. It's done, but during that time I had to run over to my in-laws to use their toilet. I promise you this could've been done more efficiently and with a better attitude. Find someone else to do your plumbing work. read more

Today an employee went beyond just a clogged kitchen sink he was extremely polite he would ask for permission whenever he had to go in or outside, surprisingly some people just walk around like nothing but Manuel was very professional the whole time & he cleaned up after himself also he went out of his way to fix the water flow in kitchen sink faucet , I had mentioned this issue to my property management & he said it was because low water pressure but that wasn't correct according to the plumber he explained that it was due to bad aerator so he also replaced it & now it's like new!! I have used Robbys Rooter for almost 10 years. Service has always been okay, not great. They often send people to my tenants house who do not speak English and therefore cannot communicate with them. The office themselves do not call back when they say they will, and have been extremely rude at times. They have charged me for work that has not been authorized. I recently had them replace a waterline to my back house while I was out of town. They had previously installed a gas line to the same house and told me that they would run the line next to the gas line. When I returned I saw the line was run on the side of my deck, not underneath next to the gas line, and Instead of drilling through the siding to connect under the front house they ran the line up 5 inches from the house and went through a foundation vent. The line running up to the vent was not strapped or supported in any way so if anyone kicked it there or on the side of the deck alongside the house it would have broken. When I asked them to come fix it correctly there were extremely rude. That same week my tenant said there was a clog in their bathroom. Robby sent somebody out and they cleared the clog. Once they left the bathtub stopper didn't work. My tenants called them immediately to tell them that this was the case. When I called them to say they needed to fix it they claimed it wasn't their fault. And basically said I was lying. I finally got Robby himself to the house and he repaired the waterline the way it should've been run. And after arguing with me about the drain line he said he went under the house and fixed it. The next week I had a rock in the waterline that jammed the bathroom toilet valve and found the bathtub drain where they worked was leaking. I called another plumber who came out and removed the rock from the waterline. He also removed the bathtub drain and found that a hole has been drilled into the PVC drain line. This could not of been done by anybody but Robby or his associate . DO NOT USE THEM! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ! read more

Plumber arrived late, broke a part on the new expensive kitchen faucet, tried to repair the part for 4 hrs without me knowing! Then he told me I needed another part that the faucet did not come with it if you want to use the sprayer...WHAT? He told "me" to read about this in the instructions. The instruction in fact read the opposite, that you needed another particular part if you did "not" wish to use the sprayer. I called the faucet mfg's cust svc(against the plumber's wishes) who thought the plumber had broken the correct part, from his conversation, but agreed to send another. The plumber did not even want to get on the phone with the guy from Price Pfister. Then the guy wanted me to pay double the original quote for overtime! To top it off he indicated that it would b $65 more once the replacement part arrived! I refused to pay the ridiculous amount asked, but still paid more than originally quoted and will have to pay another plumber when the replacement part arrives. Both the Plumber and a woman from Robby's Rooter immediately called nonstop and harrassed me about 6 times, telling me I should pay full price plus overtime. For what? Breaking my new beautiful Price Pfister faucet? and wasting 5 hours of my time(another hr to fix the shower leak)? And, it still is not done? Bad Bad Experience.Using them will not save you money! The worst company I ever had. Late coming without a call. Couldn't finish job. Wanted me to pay for the work they did that day that they could not finish that day and never gave me a job estimate before starting the work. Never was informed about the price ahead of time other than the cost to come out. Worker dug holes without an estimate. Owners wife called me a bi... because I told her I would pay when the job is done. Not professional lady and screamed at me. Won't pay until owner calls me and I can tell him what happened. I waited all day. Was given an appt. of 11-2. At 2, called and said he was just a little late. I told them to then come and I called back at 4:45p.m. No service tech. was here yet. He came at 5:30, just before dark. Dug hole and then asked to be paid before job is done. No No. I told them I would pay in full after job was done and I got an estimate and contract that we agree on which I never got. No one can finish replacing an underground pipe by dark. It turns dark at 6:30. I have not paid them, but will when I get a bill with a discout for what they put me thru. Now I need to hire someone else to finish the job. Awful people. No courtesty call to tell me about being late. Owners wife called me a bi.... How do you say that to a customer and scream at them too? read more

I had the worst experience with this company. Bathroom sink was slightly clogged. Robby's Rooter spent maybe 20 minutes supposedly unclogging it and claimed there was some hair in the drain and recommended not to brush hair over the bathroom sink. Fine. Then, a few hours later, I went to wash the dishes in the kitchen sink and suddenly my son yelled that water from the kitchen was coming into the bathroom sink. It was brownish water. When it drained, I could see there were small food particles. I complained to our apartment manager that somehow the plumber had done something wrong and now the two sinks were connected. I asked for a new plumbing company but the management company said they wanted to continue using Robby's Rooter. Robby's came back when I wasn't home and left my kitchen an utter mess, having taken out everything below the kitchen sink area and not putting it back. Turns out they had to redo the piping that somehow got broken on their first visit. As if that wasn't enough, the company then told the management company that the reason the bathroom sink was clogged wasn't because of hair (which they said was the issue on the first visit), but was "food, grease, etc." BUT I DON"T EAT IN THE BATHROOM. Not only is this a crappy company (making these kinds of mistakes), but then they don't take responsibility and shift the blame to the tenant. Basically, they lie. Don't hire!! read more

I have used Robby's for awhile now and usually they are ok, not high end great, but they can snake a toilet, I would NEVER use them for anything other than that tho. But..... I will NEVER EVER use them again after today!! They quoted me a price over the phone and when the plumber showed up, the price was doubled!!! When I called to ask why, "Patty" said that phone conversation I was referring to never happened. I had the names of both the girls I spoke with and she still was saying it never happened. So basically this Patty is calling me a liar. She must either be the owner or closely related to them, because she has NO job security fears. She is so rude, and classless. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I have now read here on Yelp that a lot of people feel the same way about her. I hope the owner reads these and gets her to stop answering the phones because they are losing business because of her. I have sent them so many customers and I will now be circling back to all my friends to let them all know what I just went through with her. She could have just said sorry, but no, she had to fight with me like we met in some dark alley. It was disgusting. All this AFTER the plumber was 2 hours late. NO ONE called to tell me he was running late. I had to call them. They told me, "oh, he had to have lunch". Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you couldn't call and let me know this?? I had 2 leaks in my rental unit. We called this company to come out to fix the leaks. We told the company we would pay the $80 fee to assess the leaks, but to call us before fixing any leaks so that we could approve the charges. Both times the plumbers went out, fixed the leaks and didn't even give us a call but rather sent us a bill for $330! They didn't even tell us they fixed the issues; we had to contact them. We applaud how efficient they are, but they should have had the costs approved. I found someone else that was a lot cheaper. Ingrid did allow us to pay the $180 instead of the $330, but after much discussion on the phone. I will not be using them again. read more
