This was our 1st time at their new location and the last! We put our name down on the wait list at the counter. The hostess was expressionless, as was the cashier. We were told the wait time was 30 to 40 minutes. As we waited outside, we noticed an employee talking on their cell phone. Apparently this employee was just fired and trying to figure out a way home. Over an hour later we were finally seated. The waitress, who seemed somewhat aloof, arrived at our table pretty quickly and took our order. We sat and waited and sat and waited some more. There was no atmosphere to speak of and no music. Finally, 50 minutes later a small pizza, salad, and spaghetti arrives. The food was average at best. The bill for 3 of us was south of $70. If you want to wait two and a half hours for average so called Chicago style cuisine at a place with no atmosphere with uncaring employees and steep prices, then by all means spend your hard earned money here. read more

Everything on the menu is very good! I live out of town and make it a point to have dinner at Roccos every trip to Tucson.

We followed Guy Fieri's recommendations on pizza and wings and man that guy knows what makes this place sing. The wings were finger licking good and the pizza was so unbelievably cheesy and decadent. Service took a while but it was completely packed and they have us the heads up so I was fine with it. Beer selection was great and went very well with it. Overall this has become one of my favorite spots in Tucson. read more

wow just wow. I've never cared to use yelp but this has to be carried out. Do not eat here at all . spent $85 dollars on just a pizza, 12 wings, and the WORST "Buffalo fries" ever. When we ordered in and completed our order no wonder they didn't tell us the price. One slice of the stuffed pizza is literally just cheese not even pizza dough or tomato sauce. The fries looked like the came from a school cafeteria buried with the worst possible buffalo sauce. They weren't even crispy just straight soggy and undercooked. I just paid $85 for a large pizza, buffalo fries and 12 wings. I've never had worse loaded fries in my life. The wings are bland and the stuffed pizza has so much cheese you'll be full after one slice. I had no words when they said my total was $85. If you're deciding between Rocco's or Little Caesar's, I'm taking Little Caesars 10 times out of 10. If you're a college student in the area, don't waste your money. Yummy! Just had lunch at this place. It sounds like they will be moving soon to the location next door. This restaurant has been there for as long as I can remember and obviously has their clientele. Dip dish pizza with artichoke hearts and green olives was awesome. Since the pizza takes a little while to cook, for appetizer we ordered medium wings. Very good! Service was fast. Awesome local joint. Lots of variety. The wings are a must (mix the hot with the bbq if you like that special flavor). The Chicago Italian beef is super tasty. If you like deep dish pizza make sure you bring an appetite! Great food and service. Enough seating space for a small group of friends. (Indoor/outdoor) they also have a bar to sit at. Our first visit since they moved to the new location. The new place is a lot more contemporary and has less "patina" than the old place but the food and service are just as good. The only downside that we could see is that the place is a whole lot more popular than it was a few years ago and it's harder to get in. Reservations are recommended. The night we went the wait for a pizza was up to an hour so we chose a pair of sub sandwiches and I have to say that I am glad we skipped the wait for the pizza because the sandwiches (Italian sub and grilled chicken) were delicious. Not only were the ingredients delicious, but the bread was incredible. This is not your father's sub sandwich! We grew up in Chicago and retired in Tucson in 2018. We know what good pizza is because Chicago is known for it's great pizza. We heard from several folks that Rocco's had real good Chicago style pizza but I did not believe it. Well, we finally tried it in the beginning of 2025 and were blown away. No BS, the pizza was the best I've ever had! Everything about the pizza was perfect, the crust is just right but the most outstanding thing is the pizza sauce. Long time patron, first time at the new place. Loved it. Bigger and newer but still comfy. The place already seemed homey, restroom signs definitely a bonus in this area. We visited on a Sunday. 11:30 reservations, but it was pretty quiet when we arrived. Very busy by the time we left, lots of large parties. We were clearly not the only ones happy to be back. Service stayed prompt and fun, even as the crowd built. We were eating pretty quickly after ordering. And the food was Rocco's at its best. Total cheese chaos. This marinara moves me to tears, and it had been awhile. Pizza of the month was chef's kiss. We also had soup, an antipasto, and 3 sandwiches. Antipasto and sandwiches were humongous. I was wanting to try some Chicago style pizza and luckily came across Rocco's. The salad was a great starter, as it came with a bunch of toppings and different dressings to choose from. There was plenty to split between four adults. We ordered the small Deep Dish Great Chicago Fire (sauce on top). When pulling out a slice, the cheese would just stretch like there was no end. Their pizza was one of the best that we had tried in town so far. The dough had good flavor as well. We had a cannolis to end our meal. It had a hint of nutmeg or cinnamon to it. One was plenty to split between the two of us. One thing I'd mention is to not sit on the left side as you enter. It's close to the bathrooms and kitchen, so we kept getting whiffs of cleaning smells. read more

Rocco's says it's still their soft opening weeks after the opened the new location, but really they have undertrained staff, absent staff, and absolutely no clue how to handle to-go orders when there are in-person diners waiting. There were a dozen empty tables when we arrived and several un-bused tables. We should have taken a clue from waiting 5 minutes for the host to check us in. Annoyingly we were told there were no reservations during the soft opening when we called but people in front of us had them. We waited 20+ minutes for a table because our server was already serving a large party. When we were seated, it was 15 minutes before the server came to even offer us drinks. She was clearly unhappy to be there and kind of sullen. We ordered food at the same time since getting her attention was a challenge. She said she'd be right back with our iced teas. After taking our order, but before bringing drinks, she brought out appetizers for her party of 10. Several other tables seated after us got their drinks. We waited about 20 minutes for tea. She never checked on us. Though we flagged her down for more tea a couple times. After we'd waited 45 minutes for a Ceasar salad, we heard her warn the table next to us that it was at least an hour for pizza. She never mentioned that to us. That's lousy training. The salad was drenched in a thick thick dressing. It was made almost entirely of garlic paste. We couldn't finish it even with 2 of us eating it. We sat with the leftovers until the pizza came. It was another 45 minutes before we got our pizza. Someone else brought it out. We had to ask for new plates. And ask for the salad plates to be taken away. The pizza was very hot. The crust was cooked all the way even in the center. The 3 toppings were sparse but tasty. They charge $3 per meat topping and $2 per vegetable topping but we only had enough toppings for it to be 1 topping worth. There was also not enough sauce. It tasted okay but kind of dry which is not what you'd expect from Chicago style deep dish. Next time we saw our server, we asked for a box and the bill even though we were still hungry. Rocco's charges 3.75% for using a credit card. I hate that, and I wasn't about to let the server run away with my card for 35 minutes. We put money down for the food and top and motioned that we were leaving it there. The huge party that delayed our being seated had not received their food by the time we were leaving. They were irate (understandable.) I don't know how long a soft opening lasts but they need some intense staff training, to have enough staff that the people working aren't miserable, and the menu needs to say they can't keep up so you shouldn't order pizza unless you have 90 minutes to wait. They absolutely need to focus on in-house diners even if it means shutting down to-go orders. Food was really lacking considering we waited 2 hours at the restaurant. We are *never* going back. Neither should you. It's 30 minutes away for us, we left home at 5pm and got home after 8pm. read more

Awesome spot to hang out or get take out! Very close to downtown but has a laid back/casual feel. Has alot of outdoor seating and some indoor seating and a small bar. We got one of the Rocco's favorites: veggie pizza. It was so thick (felt like i was eating lasagna). So delicious! I was hurting after a slice and a half. It was a busy Saturday night, even at 5pm. We were able to be seated in the patio area with heaters. We ordered the chicken wings, breadsticks, and fried ravioli for appetizers. The chicken wings were some of the best I've had, and loved that it was crunchy. But the organization of the kitchen could use some work, with very long delays and not coming out even remotely close to the same time. The breadsticks came out last out of all the appetizers. We ordered the Kitchen Sink pizza with thin crust and a meatball sub. Both were good. It took a long time to get the pizza, but we were done eating by the time the meatball sub finally came out. As we were being seated, we were then told that any pizza order would take at least another hour because there is only one pizza oven. This information should have been shared upfront. Had we known, we would have ordered pizza to go or gone elsewhere instead of waiting. When we raised the issue, the response was essentially "oops, sorry, we must have missed telling you." We tried out Rocco's for the first time today. The new restaurant looks fantastic and very well done! The service was especially friendly and really helpful. Especially on Thanksgiving eve. Our sincere thanks & appreciation to the staff! The pizzas we tried were made Chicago-style. My husband ordered the stuffed pizza with sausage and pepperoni. I ordered thin crust with sausage, mushroom and olives. The sausage was the ground pork style, which was pleasing to see! To me, that is much better than links. And the cheese was perfectly, I mean perfectly, browned. For some reason, the thin crust pizza tasted a bit off for me today and left my stomach unsettled. The olives had a different or briny taste - maybe needed to be rinsed off a little. I am not a chef, so I do not know for sure. The tomatoes & sauce seemed fine but perhaps more bitter than sweet. I guess I was also expecting cornmeal on the bottom of the pizza crust, too. This all could be because I am homesick for the pub style pizza I used to get in the burbs. My husband enjoyed his stuffed crust pizza. He really likes the double decker pizza we get in Chicago, and thought the stuffed pizza was a good substitute. We will have to try Rocco's again sometime. The place was tiny and extremely loud. The food was okay. The service is what I had issues with. Our server tried to upsell us an appetizer saying the pizza would take a while. The appetizer ended up coming out at the same time as the pizza. Drinks were not refilled either. Perhaps it was an extra busy day.
