Grilled pineapple
Minji K.

If you're a meat lover looking for a place to have an absolute feast, Rodizio is an amazing option! This Brazilian grill specializes in meat of all types, including beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and lamb. It's such a fun experience since you are given a little wood tool with green and red sides as the servers walk around with the various meats. You can flip the stick to show green if you want the servers to stop at your table and offer you the assorted meat or flip it red if you're full/need a break and do not want them to serve you. Out of the many options that I tried, my favorites were the Coração de Frango Temperado (chicken hearts) which were slightly chewy, the grilled lamb, and the Presunto (grilled ham). Some of the meats are more seasoned/cooked than others so you can try a bunch and see what your favorites are! The grilled pineapple was also super juicy and such a refreshing combination with the meat. You can enjoy unlimited salad bar with the protein as well! I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options offered at the bar. They had so many different types of salad and sides, including ceviche and pickled beets, and grilled vegetables. They also had really good sauce options like their spicy sauces and churrasco sauce The servers were all very courteous and friendly. It would be a great place for a celebration with friends and family as well! It is located downtown so you do need to find street parking or paid garage parking.

Yesterday on Friday, September 19, we went as a group of five adults and a 20 month old baby to Rodizio Grill to celebrate the birthdays of two people in our group. We had two birthday coupons prepared for the occasion. We arrived for our 6:30 p.m. reservation, and once seated, we immediately informed our server that one member of our group was pregnant and could not eat any meat cooked less than medium. The server acknowledged our request. We then went to the buffet, where we found that several items were lukewarm. During our first hour at the table, the meat rotation only included spicy chicken, parmesan chicken, and chicken hearts. They brought steak only once, and it was completely rare (just seared on the outside). We politely told the server about this and asked if they could bring medium-cooked meat instead, explaining again that we had a pregnant person in our group. The server agreed and assured us it was on its way. After an hour and twenty minutes in the restaurant, our server informed us that the birthday coupons automatically add a 20% gratuity to the bill. She then dropped the check at our table--without us asking for it and her without offering dessert. At this point, no properly cooked meat had been served yet, and the few that arrived continued to be very rare, not edible even. When another server came to pick up the check, we explained everything that had happened. She apologized, offered us free dessert, and once again assured us that medium-cooked meat would be on its way. Forty minutes later, a server finally brought out several cuts of meat on an extremely hot tray and placed it directly in front of the baby sitting at our table. The meat was completely overcooked, dried out, and portioned so small that it couldn't feed our group. Another server came by, questioned why the tray had even been placed on our table, and asked again if we wanted it. Thinking it was some sort of joke, we said no. He then removed the tray and immediately offered it to the table beside us. We never asked for any additional discounts and ended up paying our bill in full (it did include birthday discounts) At around 8:30 and two hours later with none of our requests being met, we asked the hostess at the front desk to validate our parking ticket so we wouldn't have to pay at the garage. She appeared to agree and acted as if she had done it, but when we tried to leave the garage, we discovered the ticket was never validated and we ended up having to pay. In short, we left hungry, upset and with the worst restaurant experience we've ever had, and it completely ruined our celebration. -10/10

Salad bar and first start of meat serving.

Went here for my 1st time as my birthday gift with my Daughter and her boyfriend. I only gave 4 stars just because it deserved a 5 but figured I give it benefit of doubt and wonder if it gets better. Make sure you go here hungry! It's all you can eat and we'll it's not cheap but I also generally felt it was semi worth the price because oh my the meat was excellent. And this grilled pineapple they had was incredible too. You can just order salad bar if you want. Here's a few pictures but don't give it justice.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was greeted right away as soon as I walked in. I had a reservation so the check in process went smooth I would recommend doing a reservation instead of showing up. As soon as we sat down let the food begin they started bring around the meat and it was very tasteful I might add. Made my way to the salad bar and they have a really nice selection of hot and cold items. The food was very fresh and good quality. I must say that I will return, but only on a special occasion considering its a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it.

Rodizio Grill is a really delicious and unique place for any special event. I have been a few times but my most recent visit was on New Year's Eve. It is located in the Arena District and parking isn't too bad with a garage located behind it. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The lighting was nice, not too dark but also not blinding us. We started with some drinks and I had one of the specialties for the holiday which was a Brazilian take on a French 75. It was really delicious and I would order it again. The trick to getting your moneys worth is to not fill up on the sides but it's hard when they are so delicious! I had some mashed potatoes, alfredo pasta, roasted squash, polenta sticks, and my absolute favorite which is the cheese bread. I'm not alone in loving this as the tray of it was almost always empty. Luckily we had a good view of the bar and would watch to see when it was refilled. Last time I was here, our server brought the cheese bread, polenta sticks, and cinnamon bananas to the table in a little bowl but I think it makes more sense to have it on the salad bar. If you've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, servers walk around with giant skewers of all kinds of meat. They will stop by your table and introduce it and if you want it you'll get a piece or however many you want or a slice if it's beef. My favorite of the meats are the sweet and spicy chicken, parmesan chicken, and the glazed ham. The beef is all pretty good but I can't taste a real difference between them, that is my main gripe. Also, I got a cut of beef and after he walked away I found it was 100% fat which was a bummer. You absolutely HAVE to get the pineapple and I recommend getting at least 2 slices when they come to your table as it's very popular and doesn't come around a ton. Their dessert selections are also really nice. The cinnamon bananas are included but I recently also ordered what was described as a Brazilian churro. It had more of a donut texture than a churro but it was fried and then tossed in cinnamon sugar and was very good. My biggest advice would be to come here very very hungry and pace yourself. You don't need to say yes to every meat on their first pass. By only having 1 or 2 at a time I was able to enjoy a lot more than others at my table. I look forward to my next visit!

I have to admit. I'm not a meat eater. But I'm sure my husband made for that. I loved the grilled pineapple.

It was good but not memorable. I've been to different Brazilian restaurants and have had better. The dessert was the best part.

Ask the Community - Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse Columbus

What does the dinner meal included and how much for each person?

The dinner includes rolls and as many trips to the salad bar as you can stuff in yourself. Plus all of the meat you can eat. The meat is brought by the table VERY frequently. Drinks are not included in your price. I never did ask about the daily…

When I tried logging into my rewards account, I was told I was no longer a member despite having received rewards emails in the past. I signed up again because new members are also supposed to receive 25% off their first visit, so I assumed one of those promotions would apply. When I arrived, I explained the situation to the host, who assured me it wouldn't be a problem. My reservation was marked as a birthday celebration, and the ticket given to my server also noted both my birthday and rewards membership status. When it came time to pay, no discount had been applied. I explained the situation again and showed proof of my account. The server brought over a manager, who told me that my account was likely deleted when they switched rewards systems a few months ago. Despite acknowledging that the problem was probably caused by their system, he refused to honor either the birthday promotion or the new-member promotion. His response was essentially, "Maybe next visit if it's still not working." There won't be a next visit. What made the situation even worse was that this was supposed to be my birthday dinner. Nobody acknowledged my birthday, despite it being noted on the reservation and ticket. It felt like nobody cared. The service throughout the meal was also disappointing. We repeatedly had to request specific meats because servers kept coming around with the same few options, mostly chicken and flank steak. For a restaurant that charges premium prices and advertises a wide variety of meats, that experience fell far short of expectations. I left feeling frustrated, dismissed, and honestly heartbroken. A birthday dinner should be a special experience, not one that ends with a customer feeling ignored and upset. Between the rewards issue, the manager's unwillingness to make things right, and the poor service, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had. I've been here before and had a wonderful experience, which is exactly why I chose Texas de Brazil for my birthday. Unfortunately, this visit was so different from my previous one that it was hard to believe I was at the same restaurant.

We also shared the shrimp ceviche. Good flavor but strange texture with the toasted nuts. The food seems like it's fusion as my friend and I both got chilaquiles but the chips were already broken apart and mixed with the meat. Still tasty but not what we expected. My other friend got the patacon, which basically looked like a salad. Far from the usual plantain fritters with toppings. Only one of my table mates ordered something that sounded like what was expected, the Ecuadorian churrasco: sirloin, eggs, fries, rice, and salad. For dessert, we got the flan and tres leches cake. There was a hair on the cake and they quickly gave us a new slice. Good but the flan could've been better. The cake was good though. Nothing was too sweet which was perfect. Overall the food was good but not as authentic as we had hoped. The service was also a bit slow. It was a slower evening but it took a while to get our drinks. Our server was really nice though. We ordered his recommendations. I'm not too familiar with parking around here but there were parallel spots in front. I parked in the garage at the back. Around $6 for two hours.

The service was okay...not terrible, but not as attentive or memorable as I expected for a steakhouse of this reputation. As for the food... this is where it fell short for me. I've been wanting to try it for a while because I've heard so many good things, so I came in with high expectations. Unfortunately, the steak wasn't cooked the way I prefer, the brussel sprouts weren't enjoyable, and the mashed potatoes tasted like they may have been instant, which was disappointing for a place known for steak. The one standout for me was the meatballs, they were actually really good and had great flavor. Overall, for a birthday dinner and for the reputation it has, our party left a bit disappointed. It wasn't a horrible experience, but it just didn't match the expectations we had going in.

My partner's aunt hosted a Saturday celebration dinner for my partner's sister, who just finished her PhD, and she covered the drinks and the churrasco. My usual policy when someone else is buying is to say nothing at all. I would rather say good things or keep quiet. So here we are. Let me start where the restaurant earned it. The service was the best thing about the night, full stop. We came in during Saturday turnover, before the dinner rush hit, and the staff was warm, quick on water and drink refills, and genuinely excellent with my kids, which is not a small thing. The meat servers were just as fast. There was one server my partner and I had trouble understanding, though I suspect that was the acoustics where we were seated, because nobody else at the table seemed to struggle. No complaints. None. The market table wasn't enough to carry this meal. The blue cheese wheel rescued more than one cut of beef and I would like to shake its hand. The smoked salmon was good. The Manchego was solid if unremarkable. And the ginger shots sitting next to the papaya were the single best thing I put in my mouth all night. No notes, unless you count wanting more ginger and a tiny speck of sea salt, which is my preference and not a flaw. The pão de queijo was plentiful and tasty but came out cold, and I would love to know if that is intentional, because warm would have been noticeably better. The meat itself was well seasoned and unevenly cooked. The sirloin was perfect. The rest ran tough and chewy. When the cheese from the salad bar is doing rescue work on your beef, something upstream has gone wrong. Dessert repeated the pattern. The banana cream was outstanding. The cake underneath it was dry enough to fall apart, and the cream is the only reason I got one bite down. My guess is it sat too long, and a simple syrup, or a honey syrup, would have held it together. Judging by the sweets on the market table, I suspect the simpler desserts are the best things on this menu, which would mean there is real talent here going to waste. And then there was the polenta. Fried polenta, served with some kind of banana. Brûléed with cinnamon, possibly. I honestly could not tell you, because I went straight for the polenta the second I learned what it was. I tried to stab it. It did not give. I stayed optimistic, figuring it was a thick skin from the fry and the middle would still be good. It was not. I abandoned the fork and picked it up with my fingers, and the first microsecond was fine, because I was braced for something like the socarrat you get in a good paella, so a crunch was expected. But the crunch kept crunching. And crunching. And then the center was cold, dry, and grainy. It is the saddest moment I have ever had with corn, and I will be scarred for life. I am aware I am reviewing one plate harshly, so let me explain why it matters. Grits, polenta, cornmeal mush, however you make it, is one of the most delicious simple things you can produce anywhere corn grows. It is the dish Joe Pesci gets served in that diner in My Cousin Vinny, the one the cook identifies for him in a voice like a country line cook by day and a Hell's Angel by night: hominy grits. That is a plainer preparation than what arrived at our table, and I would take it over what I was given without hesitating for a second. That this plate made it past expo is inexcusable. It had no business on the service floor, and I think our server knew it. She was energetic and glad to serve us all night, but her body language and a small shift in her tone when the polenta and banana came up told me she was uncomfortable. That is not on her. That is a hierarchy failing to meet the standard of a simple man who once dreamed of being a chef. Everything else that night, I could work with. That one plate ruined my palate until the papaya and the ginger repaired it, and it is the reason I am not planning a return for the time being. Maybe the seafood tower tells a different story. The staff, at least, deserve one.
