I found a new sushi place that quickly became my favorite. They have a wide variety of rolls, bento boxes, and drinks to choose from. Their sushi is so flavorful that I don't even need to use soy sauce. One standout roll I love is called Sunkist, which has salmon sashimi wrapped around imitation crab, avocado, and cucumber, topped with scallions and yuzu dressing. It's perfect for summer with its refreshing and tasty combination. I highly recommend it! Their blackpink roll and the ktown roll is also very fresh and flavorful. Their bento box is also worth trying. I had the bulgogi beef bento, and the beef was incredibly flavorful. It paired well with the rice. The dumplings in the bento were crispy on the outside and filled with delicious ingredients. Their Thai tea is amazing too. It's served ice cold and has a creamy and delicious taste that goes perfectly with the sushi. It's especially enjoyable during the summer. I can't think of one thing I haven't liked about both of my visits here. The sushi quality is always great and the options are endless. I appreciate that they have meat options too but today was a sushi day for me. Holy Grail: I thought this was going to be spicy but it was nowhere close so don't worry if that's a concern. It's actually pretty refreshing with the sweet and spicy wasabi dressing. Sunkist: This one has no rice so it falls apart pretty easily when picked up but it's worth the mess. There were thick slices of salmon sashimi on top and the imitation crab picks up a lot of the yuzu dressing which is my favorite. Sexy Roll: This is an elevated version of a spicy tuna roll with tuna sashimi and shrimp on top. I was in love with the contrast in textures of the smashed tuna with the tender tuna slices. Eel Rice Bowl: The slices laying on top of the rice are pretty thin and fatty, almost like a deconstructed eel roll. The only thing is the ratio of rice to eel was 5:1 which was a little sad. That said, the extra eel sauce soaked in the rice made it so much better, especially with the avocado. There's both indoor and outdoor seating but a lot of people were coming in to take their food to-go. Parking is validated in the structure next door so make sure to get the QR code from them before you leave. Roll Call is a 3.5 and does the job for cheap, slightly better than average sushi. On the weekends they have a happy hour from 4-8pm and you can get a ton of options for under $50. I like order upfront and they bring the food out to you approach, so that you can leave as soon as you're done. Our first two rolls came out super quick- the blue crab and salmon cucumber. But, we waited a solid 20-25 minutes after that to get our veggie spring rolls and crispy rice tuna and it was clear they forgot about our order. Roll Call isn't in the best neighborhood and there were definitely some interesting characters walking around outside, which is why they do a ton of takeout orders. Food was mediocre (6/10), and the service was disappointing (2/10). They don't even have a physical menu--you have to check Grubhub. The staff seemed focused only on to-go orders, and no one was paying attention to dine-in customers. Our food sat for five minutes before we had to ask about it. That being said I do not regret my decision. Everything was packed beautifully and with care, and it all tasted delicious.
