I want to start off by saying how excited we were to try this place after reading the reviews below and browsing through the pictures of the food. So much so that we had an idea what we were going to order before we even arrived. I made the reservation through their website about a week in advance - probably more. We arrived to the restaurant at about 5 min to 5pm. Just in time for our reservation. I had made the reservation for outdoor seating which they have. When we arrived there was one couple sat right in the middle of their outdoor area in a 4-top table. The rest of the tables were empty. They brought a small table for 2 from the inside out to the patio area and set it up. The process was fast but weird since the entire section was empty with the exception of the one couple I mentioned. We were put in the walkway area with a loud fan blowing hot air right behind me. We began to order even though we knew the table was in a weird, uncomfortable spot. The drinks: AMAZING!! Probably the best part of the experience. Cheers to the bartender. We had the signature flower drink - 2 actually and both were excellent and the Brooklyn which my s/o really loved. The food: bison meatballs all the way. Get them! They were delish and tender. After receiving this it was clear our table was awful with the fan blowing and the app and 2 drinks we had making it so crowded, so we asked to be moved. The restaurant was still empty with only us and that one couple outside. I was made to feel like a huge inconvenience for the woman at the hostess area. It's almost like she begrudgingly did it. They did not try to convince me to stay or anything and they changed us right away but it was uncomfortable and we were moved ... again to another blah table. So weird with so many other tables available. Now we continue with the food: I had the tuna app as my dinner. It was good. Nothing special but good. My s/o ordered the red snapper. This was not good at all. It was not cooked at all and the chef left the blood line in it making it very fishy. We didn't have to say anything. Our awesome waiter spotted it immediately and took it away. The tomatoes on that dish were also stone cold. The manager came out and removed it from the bill. We appreciated that but had already lost our appetite because of it. Overall, the experience was not what we were expecting. I'm giving 3 stars mostly for the drinks and the bison meatballs. The waiter was great too (Cardinal). He made good comments on the drinks and described the drinks and dishes well. He was also on top of it and was checking in on us but we won't be returning or recommending this place. read more

I was so excited for more bars and restaurants to open in this NoHo area. The food and drinks are amazing. I met a friend for happy hour and the small bites and drink specials were really affordable and delicious. I loved my craft cocktail with the big round ice cube, crab cakes and hummus platter. I returned Sunday for brunch and sat in the outdoor space. The ricotta pancakes and avocado toast were tasty, and clearly made with quality ingredients and a great portion size. 5 stars because everything from the food, ambiance and service were top notch. read more

They have a good happy hour. Food wise I tried the tuna tartare, fried green tomato caprese and Asian wings. Tuna tartare was good but the wonton chips weren't as crispy. The green tomatoes were absolutely delicious and have a bit of a kick to them. The wings were my least favorite I just think the sauce was too sweet and the wings were a little overcooked. For drinks I had the the blackberry snapper which is the pic below. It was the perfect balance of sweet and tart and they aren't shy with their pours. The drink was also very aesthetically pleasing. Decided last minute to go out to dinner and we chose a place we've never been. It was a Thursday around 6:30 and I called ahead just to make sure there was availability (you just never know!). There was plenty so we headed over. Parking seemed limited, but we found a spot in the street right out front. We weren't sure if parking across the street was allowed as it had a name for another business. We were greeted and sat right away. From first looks, it has a cool aesthetic. Just cool to look around at. Not overwhelming. The food menu is small, but there's plenty of wine and cocktails to choose from. I ordered the Fig and Flower. It was a bit more floral than I would have liked, but not bad. I also ordered a house Chardonnay and it was good. For food we started with Nona's Meatballs. They were delicious and I loved the mix of marinara with pesto and balsamic. We both enjoyed. For dinner I ordered the Risotto and added jumbo shrimp and my boyfriend ordered the West Indies Shepherds Pie. Both dishes were large portions and very good. Overall the food was very good, it's just a limited menu. They also had a special menu for $125 which included choice of app, surf & turf dinner to share, and dessert. I would have enjoyed that, but boyfriend was not too interested, but I thought it was a great menu. We may return if the menu is rotating and continues to have different offerings. Most impressed by the vibe here. Parking is limited at the restaurant though street can be found. One you are able to secure yourself outside then quickly take yourself inside to find all of the classic trendy decorations. Open air seating with a patio, plenty of greenery, and an expansive cocktail menu. I have only been for brunch, which was honestly underwhelming. Starting with apps and moving to entree revealed a poor flow of courses out of the kitchen and especially for the party of four as different dishes arrived at different times with the first being about 2 minutes after the apps which were a 20 minute wait from time of ordering. I had the lobster Benedict, which in quantity and quality just left a bit lacking. Sentiments were shared by the ordered of the French dip as well. Definitely potential here especially if already in the neighborhood, but I will need to see more to be happy with this spot. read more

Super cute place. We made a reservation for Sunday on Saturday so they could only get us in a high too table, which was totally fine. I asked the manager if we could just sit at the bar since those sets shad backs and he kindly switched out our 4 stools for those chairs!! As for the food the kale Caesar was amazing! The avocado toast was good, but the bread wasn't actually toasted so it wasn't really giving. The "better then bottomless" is super cute but not actually bottomless. They just give you one bottle with different flavors. Glad it wasn't pre mixed, but if you're going with a big group this might not be the best place for bottomless. read more

Update! I've since been 2x for brunch after my original abysmal HH visit and DID THEY REDEEM OR WHAT?! Five stars. Jayden & Shea were servers on the visits and nothing short of wonderful. I had the grilled cheese/ tomato soup on visit 1, I wanted about 18 more servings. Visit 2 was the BBQ Chicken sandwich and it was to die for. I think I'll be working my way through the brunch menu for a bit, totally amazing and will now be one of my top recommendations and go-to's. read more

I came here last weekend with a friend for lunch, and I found the service to be a bit disappointing. I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato bisque and didn't have any problems with my order. I liked the bisque and grilled cheese. My friend is vegetarian and she ordered the avocado toast, but asked for it without bacon and for the eggs to be over hard and not poached. She got avocado toast with bacon and poached eggs so she asked for a new avocado toast. The person that brought the avocado toast came back really quickly and he had only removed the bacon. It's odd to me that she had to explain that it wasn't ok to just take the bacon off and bring back the avocado toast. Luckily someone else brought a new avocado toast quickly without bacon. I would come back again but maybe not at as busy of a time. I wasn't expecting it to be as busy on a Sunday afternoon. read more

I am about to drop some life advice with this review. Buckle up. The next time you're feeling less than cute and a little bummed about anything and everything...put on some heels, reach out to an old pal, and meet at the bar of Rome + Fig. Here is why this works... -Rome + Fig is beautiful, the guests are beautiful, just by being there they will make you feel beautiful. -Talking to an old friend is good because it's most catching up, reflecting on the good 'ol days, and since they haven't been involved in your life lately they have no rhyme/reason to discuss your current stressors. -Tasty food and drink or the fastest way to get rid of the less than fabulous taste in your mouth that was left by your day. Okay, back to the review. I don't want to quadruple down on how beautiful this restaurant is but I just cannot help it. It's cute in photos, it's better in real life! Especially with the evening sun reflecting off of everything. It was dreamy and whimsical and refreshing. The tables book up for reservations; we arrived around 7:30pm on a Wednesday and couldn't be seated - so we grabbed a spot at the bar. I would suggest making that reservation if you're hoping to enjoy a full meal. For us, the bar was perfecto. And it got better. Within moments of grabbing my seat I was met with a glass of water and a friendly greeting. I should have written this review sooner because I am really tragic at names and I forgot the bartenders already, I wanna say Jeremy? Let's call him Jeremy. Now you might not believe this but I pinky promise this is how it happened. Jeremy/Jason(?) OFFERED to make something up for me if I was having a hard time picking! I didn't have to be annoying, he literally offered to satisfy my annoyingness. And yep, my guy came through! I got a refreshing, sweeter version of a French 75, made with a frothy egg white. It was exactly what I needed to heal my existential crisis (if only for an hour). We shared the caprese salad made with fried green tomatoes. I was glad to see it also came with some refreshing cherry tomatoes, keeping it lighter overall. Take a shot every time I say refreshing in this review. Eric, the owner was in helping to expedite orders and even running food! He still made time to say hi and do table touches. I don't know which I am more impressed with. He also clearly had great rapport with the team. I haven't seen a restaurant staff be so harmonious and friendly with one another in a looooong time. It was...as you can guess..very...very...refreshing. The prices are as high as my admiration and so you should be prepared for that. I will probably keep it in rotation for Happy Hours more than anything else because even though it was cheaper than therapy... that doesn't mean it should replace it ;) read more

This review is only for the bar service, but I'll be back for a food review. We dropped in on a Friday night, and sat at the bar for a few drinks. There wasn't much of a crowd yet, but we knew things would probably get busy soon. Although there were two bartenders, it took several minutes before one of them came over to take our orders. There was not much of a greeting, and for a few moments I wondered if he would even speak. After a pause, he did ask for our drink orders and he went to prepare our drinks. The drinks came out as ordered, and didn't take much time. After inquiring about one of the items on the bar, I ordered a unique martini, which was prepared wonderfully. Our drinks were perfect, and the service was interesting, to say the least. We'll be back for food as it seems that there is a great menu, and hopefully, I can make an update to the score. read more

The 4% credit card service charge on top of our already overpriced bill was a real kick in the teeth. Great care has been taken to ensure Covid safety. It is best to call for reservations. We sat outside for a late brunch. I ordered the Fried chicken and waffles with pepper syrup. The chicken was drool worthy. Crunchy and juicy over a waffle. The pepper syrup is a bit much (they will give you regular if you ask). Not ready for a cocktail? Try the freshly squeezed lemonade. I can't wait to try their dinner and some cocktails one night. The prices aren't outrageous and it's a wonderful little spot to have a date night or gossip with girlfriends. I recently went for dinner and I am excited to see a new area of Tampa develop with restaurants and things to do. Rome and Fig fits in perfectly with the area as it is a fun and trendy spot that has beautiful outdoor dining, especially when the weather is nice. The restaurant was busy but the tables were spaced out nicely. This is a place where a reservation is a must. We started with the bison meatballs which were delicious and a great start to the meal. They were a unique appetizer that you can't get around the area. For lunch I had the pan seared day boat snapper. The snapper was cooked nicely but the sides were a little lack luster. The vegetables and quinoa were cold in comparison and I just felt like they were an after thought to the meal. The filet was an overall good meal. It wasn't the best steak I've had out but it wasn't a disappointment. I did think the entrees were overpriced for the food received. Dessert was the dark chocolate bread pudding which was delicious. A nice way to end the meal. Overall the appetizer and dessert were my highlights of the meal and the entrees were good but overpriced for the quality. This is a fun atmosphere with food that is pretty good. The menu isn't super expansive so maybe check it out before going but most people should find a dish they would like to eat. I can imagine this place with their outdoor dining is a really great brunch spot as well. read more

I've been to this restaurant 2 times, today being the 2nd time. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. I have been for brunch which was very delicious, worth every cent. Mindfully crafted food, I would call it casual gourmet. Today I went for drinks, had the espresso martini tree - 10/10 recommend. I also had the French onion soup - deeeeelish but a little saltier than I'd like. The bartender was actually paying attention to me and gave me a little scissor to cut the cheese I was breaking apart with my fingers! It was so thoughtful. Initially had a good experience, our server greeted us shortly after sitting down and came back often. She also gave thoughtful recommendations that were personalized. The problem was the food itself. For a menu with prices like these, it's fair to expect for the meal to be prepared with care. I ordered lomo saltado, which was a first for me in general so I had no expectations. When asked if I wanted my beef cooked medium, I agreed due to being told that is how the chef suggested it. The beef came so overdone that it was rubbery and burnt on several pieces. I'm not sure if this is how the dish is supposed to be done, but the puddle of oil it was sitting in made it uncomfortable to eat. This was unfortunately very disappointing. Went for Sunday lunch and the service was extremely extremely slow and inattentive. We were seated outside, and they closed the huge door due to inside customers feeling cold, making us feel completely shut out from the restaurant. I love this restaurant. It's beautifully decorated and the menu seems to have a bit of everything for everyone. Their happy hour is probably my new favorite and the happy hour meal portions are just right. Recently tried their lomo saltado made with filet mignon and it was perfect. It was just the right amount of food and priced well. They have a wonderful patio with plenty of seating. They also have 2 happy hours, an early one and late evening one. I love their old fashions and I love that they make their own infused tinctures for specialty cocktails. If you haven't had a chance to visit this restaurant definitely bookmark it and visit. We ordered the same app our neighbor table before them, and they got theirs first approximately 10 minutes before us. Everything seems to be off as we order after that. The food was delicious! And the outdoor seating area was nice and cozy. They have fans if it's too hot out. Also, the cocktails are tasty and they do NOT skimp on the alcohol amount! I would say the only thing I wasn't very happy with was the fact that I had to wait nearly 20 minutes to be checked on once I was seated. The host came over and checked on us and I told him that we had been waiting quite some time, and they got our server to our table within a few minutes of that. Normally I don't mind if the servers at least to an intro check in with water then we wait, but we literally got passed by 4-5 times by multiple servers throughout the 15-20 minutes and no one checked to see if we were helped yet. Great location. Easily found parking for brunch on Sunday. We had a bit of a time crunch begore TSO at Amelie. I ordered the caprese toast and my friend ordered avocado. Different "toasts" on each dish but both of our toasts were cold and one of my eggs was undercooked. It was busy and I don't want to denigrate a restaurant having only eaten there one time.
