Local to our neighborhood this restaurant is often frequented by customers for takeout orders. The menu offers traditional Cantonese style dishes that are tasty. The restaurant offers dine-in with one large table and several smaller tables. Plenty of free parking in the shopping center.

Here's another place that's been in Elk Grove for years, but has taken me forever to give it a shot. I got to try them out thru Door Dash. I had the Mongolian beef lunch. It comes with both chow Mein and fried rice, which I appreciate because some places make you choose between the two sides. Everything was good. Not the best I've had, but still really good. I also wish they gave a little bit more of meat in the entree portion. With that being said, this place is a solid option for Chinese takeout.

I bought soup because I was feeling a little sick, but there was a bug in my soup!!!! I had to throw it away. :(

Food was amazing and tasty. Service was excellent. Last server was so kind and accommodating. Hole in the wall authentic Chinese food. Daily lunch deals! No place included walnut shrimp in a meal but they do! We will definitely return with share this spot with friends & family. Clean dining area

Ordered the meal for 2 people. All this food for about $44. I went with my mom and even then we had to take it home cause we weren't able to finish it, so that's a win for us! The food was amazing, don't even get me started on the wonton soup, my mom doesn't like soup but she loved this one she just couldn't get enough of it. The Orange Chicken was so crunchy! The spring rolls and crabmeat wontons were amazing. In general everything was amazing and great customer service! Definitely bringing friends and family here

Ordered some take out and it was amazing. The restaurant is nice if you decide to sit and enjoy but I was entertaining guests and this time for we got delivery. We ordered the Family Dinner Option B and added a Pork Fried Rice. The food is always delicious and plentiful. I will definitely be working my way through the other dinner options but the ones we had were on point. The Mongolian Beef was especially tasty, the Mandarin Chicken was sweet and had just a perfect hint of spice, the chicken chow mien was decent and fresh. The soup was really good. Perfect for then cold rainy day we ordered it.

Visiting my cousin last weekend and decided to get some Chinese food. This is her favorite place. One server, quick, polite, efficient. She kept our water's full, checked on us several times, even helped box and bag leftovers. I can tell it's a regular neighborhood spot by the service shown to us and the way she greeted and knew each pick up order. The restaurant is clean average strip mall Chinese restaurant decor. The real find here is the food. Hands down some of the best if not the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. We did the individual dinners which came with soup, appetizers, chicken chow mein and choice of entree. I did Kong pow chicken, super flavorful with lots of vegetables and peanuts. My husband got Mongolian beef which had some really nice heat from peppers and pepper. Another member of our party got the salt and pepper wings which were delicious with a hint of five spice and jalapeños. The chow mein was really tasty, not greasy, with bean sprouts and cabbage that added freshness to the dish. We also got hot and sour soup to go and enjoyed it later that evening and the next day with our leftovers. I was really impressed with the quality, portions and flavor of this spot. Please check them out and support small businesses!

We got the "special" buy one pound get the next pound free so we did shrimp. We got shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and dungeness crab with the special blend in one bag. The hook and reel special blend was honestly pretty gross it was sweet, Smokey and not very buttery or salty at all. We asked for lemon pepper and extra butter to put inside(which was an extra charge) it made it a little better but I've definitely had better elsewhere. The garlic noodles were really good they had a soy sauce flavor, garlicky and cheesy. The price was pretty expensive considering I've spent $30 less elsewhere. Here at hook & reel I spent $96 The service was good. She was very kind and helpful but also wasn't very attentive. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall I wouldn't come back and I recommend going to Captain crab in Elk Grove it is so much better tasting and cheaper!!

SIDE NOTE-to anyone going there 5 or more party, it's automatic 15% gratuity. JUST KNOW when someone orders to-go while dining, that to-go amount will be added to your dine in bill, of course meaning the gratuity tip will be higher on your final bill due to that to-go order added. They will not make any changes for you there if you try to apply logic. Guess you have to pretend to walk in the door to order or call in while you're sitting down to place the order to-go to avoid it being part of the total bill. Hopefully they change that system because why would you charge to-go orders as part of the dine-in to rack up the gratuity tip for an under par service!? When I questioned the server how does it make sense and she said yes we can cancel the order and call it in rather than just taking the initiative to separate the orders. Make it make sense or maybe I'm just over reacting but it does seem like a way to get more money out of folks. Receipt name said nana and she had a bit of an attitude. I know she already got her tip automatically but at least display some customer service hospitality along the way. First time trying it and likely will be sticking to crab city or boiling crab instead when I crave seafood boil.

I loved it just as it ORIGINALLY was, but the upgrades are AMAZING... The main entrance has been totally remodeled and a beautiful bar has been added. They also changed the tv area, in the main entrance, to look like the windows of an airplane instead of playing destinations on the screen, which I LOVED, because it enabled me to see sky views of places I have never and may never visit. They were playing soccer, which I understand, because the world is watching the World Cup. One of my favorite things was the hot, moist hand towels given at the beginning of your meal. I LOVED it. I thought it was so elegant and sopisticated. I am not a fan of washing my hands and then eating from a public restaurant, touch on the door to enter and exit. Now they provide the hand towels at the end of your meal, but this is fine dining, I am not using my hands to eat, and I have a napkin, if needed. So, I would prefer to cleanse my hands at the beginning of my meal. I sat in the newly renovated area which looked like the inside of an airplane. Sooooooooo, DOPE!!! It was BEAUTIFULY done! Felt FIRST CLASS, all the way. The furniture was AMAZING and looked elegant and high class. Some things on the menu had changed, but that is to be expected. My meal was delicious. I loved the free glass of champagne with my 1/2 dozen order of Oysters, which were scrumptious. They also updated their front patio, where after my meal I enjoyed a cigar. Plenty of seating. Every table is covered by HUGE umbrellas. What I thought was cute and unique, when I had finished my meal and paid my bill, I was given a token. There are gift machines inside and on the patio. I really wanted the Unicorn key chain, which I did not win, but I thought it was a nice touch for the kids and the kids at heart with adult wallets. Lol.

Honestly, it was 10/10...even after sitting out and getting cold! They served honey walnut shrimp, egg rolls, garlic noodles, and chicken, and everything was delicious. So much so, I had to ask them where they catered from! I recently stopped in because I've been on a seafood boil kick, and I'm so glad I did. Molly was our waitress, and she was amazing...super friendly, attentive, and very helpful with questions about the menu. She even told us about their Thursday karaoke nights. We ordered the seafood boil with shrimp and mussels in the Fusion sauce, mild spice level. The sauce was incredible! It had so much flavor without being overpowering. Next time, I'll definitely be trying medium spice. We also ordered the egg rolls, which were crispy, delicious, and served with lettuce wraps that made them even better. The sauce was sweet and salty. Great combo. The raw oysters were fresh, the garlic noodles were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and every dish we tried was excellent. The restaurant was clean, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fun with sports games playing on tvs in the restaurant. The calamari was standard. Cooked well. Not overly oily. I came across edamame under appetizers. Based on the description, I ordered it. I love me some spicy edamame, especially when it's seasoned very well. I got my order to go, got home and when I opened the edamame, it was not what I expected. It was sitting in liquid. The description of the edamame under appetizers says nothing about it being in any kind of liquid or sauce. So I revisited the establishment tonight, which is Friday (the next day). I explained to the employee taking my order what I expected based on the description on the menu and what I got. I even showed her pictures. She said she's never seen edamame made that way (not in sauce) even though there's a picture of it being made that way under their Yelp profile. There was no attempt to rectify the situation so I left it be but it is a bit disheartening to order something with a specific description, then you get home and your order is not what you thought it would be and then there is no recourse provided. Based on this experience, my tip for future patrons is to ensure you get clarification on an item if you are trying it for the first time because it might not come in the same way it is described on the menu. I've been in contact with some very personable employees here who are amazing when it comes to customer service so I will definitely be back. But thanks to FOMO and all of the attention it has been receiving lately, we decided to come out here for dinner one day. I wasn't sure how crazy busy it would be, but sure enough the line was out the door the entire time we were sitting there. Luckily, we got there a few minutes before opening so we were second in line and didn't have too much of a wait time. But unfortunately, for whatever reason they were out of the first three things we wanted so we really had a limited selection. Despite the lack of items, we still enjoyed what we did get. It's a casual feel, and you order at the counter, but they still checked on us during our meal despite the busy crowds. They seemed understaffed that day, but still managed to keep things under control. I really liked the brisket - you could see the juices coming out before you even take a stab with your fork. You don't even need a knife because of how tender the meat is. The frijoles and the corn esquites were definitely my favorite sides. The dirty fries were okay but a little bit underwhelming in presentation. The fries were undercooked and could've had more toppings. I was really hoping to try the loaded baked potato, but that was not available. I was surprised to see that they didn't have some of the more classic side options like macaroni and cheese or coleslaw or cornbread. Because they were out of the banh mi option, we opted for the fried chicken sandwich instead, which was actually surprisingly super good, despite not seeming like a main menu item. The chicken was really juicy and burger itself was just very satisfying. Overall, had a great first visit but because of the items that we couldn't try, I feel like we have to go again to get the proper experience. I do wish they had some kind of kids menu. I also still want to try that Sunday brunch menu so we will definitely be returning sooner rather than later.

The cashier was friendly and they don't force asking tip down your throat either. Inside seems a bit run down but it's in old town EG and has a bit of history so it matches the vibes. I got the three piece fish and chips to go and it comes with two tartar sauce and ketchup. The fries are decently salted and crispy. The fish was great, large and crispy. It had plenty of meat inside each one and was cooked perfectly. Overall would come again and eat at the place to try other things on the menu as well as have the fish and chips again.
