We ordered 5 slices ( 2 for grandpa, 1 1/2 each for teen and me) of their vegetable pizza, and it was excellent! I should've taken a picture; there was a ton of veggies on each slice! Onion, pepper, mushrooms and more. Tasted fresh, it was hot, slices were large. With a bottle of water plus tax, came to roughly $36., no more 25-cent slices of my youth, lol! Solid Pizza!!! Conveniently located in Penn Station.. It was brightly lit and plenty of tables to sit. . It was kept pretty clean. !The music was upbeat and definitely a vibe! There were a ton of differnt flavors almost like a pizza buffet. Pick however many you want, they take the slice(s) and heat them in the oven. Went in for late night and got a chicken bacon ranch slice and it was really good. Very tasty. I asked for it to go and they looked at me odd... Rose Pizza is an old school type of pizza place in the renovated Penn Station. Is it the absolute best pizza in NYC no. However, it is solid and consistent and you have a wide variety of choices. It's clean brightly lit and if you find yourself in Penn Station late at night you can't go wrong stopping here for a bite to eat. They basically only sell pizza and beer and they have two separate lines to purchase either. They have a decent amount of seats! Great music! They also show the LIRR train and track times! Now, you aren't getting a $0.99 slice here, but those places have always been garbage. This place has always been better than that. For around $4 you get a plain slice that is better than it has any right to be, considering the commuters and drunken amateurs heading back to Long Islanders that make up a large part of the customers base here. The plain slice is the MVP at Rose, but there are a ton of toppings too. Get whatever you want and you'll still pay less than at Suprema, for food that is virtually the same. Came here for a very late dinner at 1245 AM after taking the train from DC. Was expecting something very middle of the road, but came out highly satisfied from both a food and service standpoint. Ordered a slice of pepperoni and was served quickly, with a fresh tasting slice reheated at the right temperature. On the way to the airport I was hungry and decided a slice would be the perfect ending of my trip. Ordered a white slice which had broccoli and ricotta, looked delish! When I got it I was very disappointed. It was dry and had no flavor. I added cheese and though it added flavor, it made it even more dry. What a disappointment. First of all, before the renovation and re-opening, I would have rate the pizza here probably an A-. It was incredibly good back then (pre-2012 and possibly pre 2019) I had not really been here since 2012 or so. The pizza back in the day was always hot, always fresh out of the oven. Tonight when i went before the rangers game, the slices were small, old (like they had been laying around for 6 hours straight) and almost inedible. The staff here have never been friendly but at least the pizza was good back then. For $5 a slice, it better be good, and it is just horrendous. I went to the mexican restaurant before this in Penn Station and both the mexican place and this pizza place were on the verge of giving me food poisoning. It is a tourist trap and Knicks and Rangers fans will come here to get drunk, just DO NOT TRUST THE FOOD. Old, cheap ingredients. Incredibly rude staff who are confused who ordered what, rushed beyond belief. And blasting music in the background. Pre-2012 when MSG and Penn Station had renovations, this place had SOUL. You had homeless people wandering in, old cheap chairs and tables, but it had a buzz. The pizza was great and the beer was $2.75 for 32 ounces of Budweiser in 2004 instead of $12.50 for 32 ounces now. Never again!!!! read more

No more are the days of the 6th portion slice. Now cut into more cost effective (for them) 8th's. Now I have never tasted dog food but I'm sure this would be a close 2nd. Skimpy cheese cover where you can actually see through it to the pasty Ragu sauce. As a matter of fact I feel bad that I just made a jab at Ragu, they are by far superior. No kidding the music was blasting so loud, wish I could play a sound bite but was afraid it would damage my phone's recorder. I'm usually suspect of pizza spots in highly commercialized places that are going to make their money regardless of the quality of product such as Penn Station but I just got back to NY after a long night and following flight. I was pretty hungry and the reviews on this spot were pretty good online. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried Rose's pizza which was better than I expected. I got there just in time for a fresh cheese slice and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sauce was tasty and well seasoned and the ratio of cheese was perfect too. Only reason I give them 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the crust. Crust wasn't bad but I've had better and that would have made this slice perfect. Otherwise I'd still recommend this to anyone in the area looking for a good pizza to appreciate. I'd definitely stop there again for a slice on another trip through Penn Station. read more
