I love my RT! Today instead of delivery I was in the area and came in to bring home. I ordered the usual and the new man running the front helped me with a nice coupon and took my order perfectly. Daycare center or pizza joint? Really annoying to have the dining area used as a daycare facility for the workers. There were two preschoolers on smart phones at a booth by themselves with the phones on LOUD. When I asked the two kids if they could please turn the volume down - they just looked at each other and laughed. So...instead of enjoying my lunch, I asked the guy at the register who's kids those were and if someone could get them to turn the phones down. He came out and spoke to the kids, they turned the phones down and then within three minutes had them turned back up again. This is not an experience I'm interested in repeating. Simply the best chain pizza that at least is state-wide (unlike Red Boy and Stefanos). While it isn't the best pizza in the world, it's delicious to get once in awhile to just either gorge with yourself or with family and/or friends. I've been going from Round Table Pizza location to Round Table Pizza location since the early early to mid 1990s when they were popular for birthday parties. Before you knew it, the Corte Madera one went out of business and the Red Hill Shopping Center one lasted five or so years longer than that. That left only the one behind In N Out Burger in Strawberry Shopping Center. This was probably one of me and my friend's in high school's favorite spot to come hang out while we were, I guess you could say, "under the influence." Now that one has shut down to, and the only one remaining is the new one on 4th Street in San Rafael. They deliver to my house which is pretty awesome, and every once in awhile I'll treat myself to a medium or large half pepperoni half cheese pizza (depending on who, if anyone, is joining me) along with an order of 3 garlic parmesian twists with marinara sauce. I usually shove those in the fridge immediately for a perfect late night snack that same night or the next one. It's no pizza that will change your life, and definitely won't impress those New York City pizza elitists who won't give any pizza outside of Brooklyn (save for a few spots in Queens) even the most basic complement of tasting good, let alone leave more than one star on a yelp review! read more

They were so gracious when we had to order and extra salad to add to our order. Then, we were waiting for just one more cookie fir our order, and instead they just comped us the 7 cookies that were ready. They carried the pizza to our car, and it was delicious when we got home. I've tried SO hard to patronize this place, and at every turn they just fail completely. Regarding the food: This is not like other Round Table Pizzas in the chain. They seem to skimp on everything and the end product is much more "meh". I've been a lover of RT in many cities and still get it when I'm in an area served by a better location, so it's definitely this chain. Regarding the service: -5 stars. Honestly the most astonishing thing I've ever seen. If they say delivery in an hour plan for at least two hours. And I've ordered it repeatedly, this is a constant with them not an occasional issue. I tried going in to eat in-person (I really love other Round Tables and wanted to make this work) and waited AN HOUR AND A HALF for dine-in. There was only one other group in the whole place. And the real kicker was going in for to-go, picking up two pizzas, and being sent home with one empty box. I realized it when I got home and got right back in the car. Get back to the RT and the guy at the counter sees me, says "oh you're back" and hands me a new pizza. THEY KNEW THE WHOLE TIME AND WAITED ON ME TO DRIVE BACK. I've never gotta a coupon, discount, free pizza, or anything at any of these events. I'm a lifetime Round Table Pizza fan, but the camel's back has finally broken. As of October 2020, there is new ownership. Round Table as a California brand is pretty legendary, and I still love the pizza I grew up with. But as soon as I walked in, the new owners greeted me which had never happened before, and they also took note that I was a curbside pickup, which the team that used to own had constantly ignored or screwed up. The new owners are making fresh and tasty and basically never frozen anything, and if you ever had an experience with this location in the past, it's time to give them a new chance. Also, a kind note to the owners to reach out to Google and Yelp to see if reviews earlier than October 2020 could be removed, which they will do when a new owner buys a business. The difference now is still a really great product, but it's run by people that get they're in hospitality and service, versus people that just think they're running a pizza shop. Also, this is a small business, not some huge corporation. So support it! read more

If this place is charging $20 for a small pizza, their customer service should really be on par. I ordered my pizza online and pickup time said 8:15, I arrived on time and then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes until I was helped! The cashier was on the phone taking someone's order and then cashiering them three separate times as their card did not work. Instead of putting them on hold for a minute, she continued to let me wait. My pizza was cold and I am beyond disappointed at such rude service. I've never experienced worse customer service from a restaurant as I did today from this Round Table location. I placed an order online for at 12:50pm for the next available delivery time which was 1:55pm. At 2:50pm when my pizza hadn't arrived I called to check on the status. The person who answered the phone and later identified himself after request as the Dennis the manager. Initially he explained that they weren't going to be able to deliver the pizza because I was outside their delivery area. I asked if something had changed because we routinely order delivery from this location and was also confused why the website didn't catch that. He said "look man to be honest I just don't have a delivery driver and we are busy". I was shocked that he was so matter of fact about about it and that nobody had notified me and that if I hadn't of called I'd have been waiting for ever. He condescendingly responded to me that it "must have slipped his mind". I'm very understanding that things are crazy right now and things happen but what I'm understanding of is horrible customer service. I explained that I was disappointed that I hadn't been notified and that if they didn't have a way to deliver someone should have let me know two hours ago. We order from here all the time and never have had an experience like this. I was surprised there was no offer to have me pick it up for or make it right in anyway but rather he continued his so what attitude. That was when I asked if there was a manager I could talk to and he said he was. I asked if there was a corporate phone number or a general manager name/number he could give me and he aggressively said "no, your money is refunded" and hung up on me. I couldn't believe it. A little bit later I called again and explained I didn't want to waste any more of his time but based on my experience i feel like I need to discuss this with someone else. He explained that there was nobody above him and if I didn't like it that was too bad. I said there has to be a general or regional manager and I would like their name and contact information and he said no that he wouldn't give it to me. I asked if he could at least give me a corporate number. He said look it up online and hung up. This whole situation was crazy to me from ordering a pizza to not getting it for 2 hours to calling and checking on the status to 5 minutes of the worst customer service in my life. I'm a total reasonable person and wasn't even upset my pizza was an hour late but the attitude about it and customer service regarding was frustrating. We easily could have found a solution or just found a different option if they had let me know. All of this was totally avoidable and super disappointing. The online ordering process is a little balky. Pickup is really easy, though they've made/given us the wrong pizza before; on the bright side, that led to them giving us an additional pizza free of charge. I tried a lunch buffet the salad bar was delicious however you can only eat so much vegetables I seen one meat pizza set out when I came in after that three pizzas was full of vegetables it was 20 minutes before I made it to the self serve counter the cashier stayed on his phone, and walked out to friend's table played in the children hair that she were babysitting with, and I didn't see him wash him hands. The worst delivery experience EVER...second time I've had horrible service. Pre ordered at 4:15pm for a delivery at 6:30pm. Confirmed twice on the call that the order would be delivered at 6:30pm. They showed up to an empty house at 5:30pm. Called and told them the error and they said no problem they would redo the order and deliver it at 6:30. At 6:55 I called again and spoke to the manager who apologized and said it was out for delivery and would be there in "5-10 minutes"...he even refunded the order. 45 minutes later I called back and told them I still did not have my order. I haven't had Round Table Pizza in a very long time so I decided to give it a try. I've been paying a fortune for other high end pizza thinking it was better. But the Round Table Pizza actually turned out to be better than the other more expensive places. The driver brought it in an insulated bag so it was still hot (it may surprise you but other places do not do this). It was a large and it was huge - in fact I am wondering if they gave me an XL by mistake. But who's going to complain with more pizza! lol And the toppings were piled on. Usually places skimp on each ingredient but there was meat piled high on every inch of this pie. So it was a good choice, the pizza was delicious and I have now switched to Round Table pizza being my go to pizza place. read more
