It was honestly so refreshing to finally eat somewhere in SLC that feels artistic and on par with what you'd expect from restaurants in bigger cities. You can tell the chefs genuinely care about what they're creating. It felt more like watching artists at work than just people cooking dinner which I just absolutely love and appreciate so much. We had the beet salad, the risotto, and the fish, and also got to sample the Caesar. Everything was excellent, the pistachio cake for dessert was nice as well- I'd say the dessert wasn't as on par with the rest of the dishes but everything else was very good. We'll absolutely be back to see what they do with the seasonal menus. It was a breath of fresh air and I feel like I've missed out waiting until now to try it.

I then noticed that the outdoor tables were only being cleaned as customers arrived. The tables around me were covered in dust and debris, which I found pretty off-putting. If I were the manager, I would make sure every outdoor table is cleaned daily, regardless of whether someone is expected to sit there. The service didn't improve. My waitress took a long time to come over, looked irritated the entire time, and never once checked back to see how my meal was or whether I needed anything. The food was the biggest disappointment. My eggs arrived cold. The breakfast potatoes were cut into wildly different sizes, so some were cooked while others were undercooked or practically raw. The sausage tasted like low-quality, processed meat that had been cooked well in advance and simply reheated. It was one of the least enjoyable breakfasts I've had in a long time. The one bright spot was my cocktail, which was actually very good. Overall, I left extremely disappointed. Between the poor service and disappointing food, I won't be returning.

Everything was well prepared and flavorful, but a few dishes truly stole the show. The bison tartare, scallops, and cold-smoked elk loin were absolute standouts and some of the most memorable bites of the night. If you're looking for a place with excellent food, a relaxed atmosphere, and exceptional service, Bambara is definitely worth a visit. It took a lot to get some attention, so I was extremely disappointed as I had ti get up and pull a manager to the side while not trying to make it a big deal. We were on a time constraint so this delay didn't help. I do appreciate that they were prompt to resolve, and when the new plate came out, it was as initially expected. On day 2, I decided to switch it up and go with the Florentine omelette with a Side of Crispy bacon. It was ok, but I was disappointed in the omelette overall as it was bland and overcooked On the 3rd day, I thought of doing the French toast, but then decided to stick to the staples for breakfast. The menu is always changing, so some of the things I was looking forward to were no longer available. After having a really good experience before, this time around was a bit of a letdown. I did appreciate how the services stepped up a notch, but the food didn't leave a memorable impression with us this time around.

Not to mention I ended up breaking out in hives at the start of the meal (unrelated to the food) and the staff was so kind. They quickly boxed our food and even brought me some Claritin to help tide me over. The food was piping hot when they boxed it and traveled beautifully, which was a bonus for sure. For brunch, my husband had the burger with a fried egg and I had their special of the day: chilaquiles. This might have been the best chilaquiles I've had in the valley. The pork was delicious, the poached egg was actually perfect, and the chips still kept their crunch which is usually my biggest gripe. I didn't try the burger, but my husband was raving about it. Then there are not a lot of seats inside with a small bar. Service was outstanding and very friendly. They do not have a large wine list, but we found a good bottle of red. The menu is not large either, but everyone in our party of 4 loved everything. For appetizers, we had the sourdough bread, a cheese course, and something called milk-braised potatoes. The bread was delicious and absolutely worth it. Then we all devoured the cheeses--all three were wonderful (for one, we got name and chased it down and bought more the next day. Then the potatoes were unusual but really tasty. They had a great flavor and the vinaigrette that was used was so special. Absolutely worth having. For the main course, I had the pork chop. One of the best if not the best I have ever had. It was cooked well, but still juicy and flavorful. Then I loved the mash and mushrooms that were with it. Others loved the ribeye and the fish. Everything was perfect. I was kind of full, but had bread pudding for dessert. This was excellent as well, but also very filling. Definitely worth visiting!

Like many people, we were excited to dine at a restaurant led by a chef who has beaten Bobby Flay. We arrived for our 8:15 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, from that point on, the service became increasingly confusing. Our server seemed flustered from the beginning and even commented that she wanted to make sure everything was right for our experience. When ordering drinks, I asked for a root beer and was told they had one. A few minutes later I was informed they actually didn't and was given a Dr Pepper instead. No big deal--I didn't want to make an issue of it. The bigger problems started with the food service. There were three of us. Two ordered the filet, and one ordered the chicken. The first entrées brought to our table weren't ours at all and had to be taken away. When our actual meals arrived, they were still mixed up. I was served the chicken despite ordering the filet. The same thing happened with dessert. We ordered two Baked Alaskas and one Lemon Cake. Again, the desserts were delivered to the wrong people. These weren't major issues individually, but when they happen repeatedly throughout one meal, it takes away from what should have been an outstanding dining experience. Now for the positive... The kitchen absolutely delivered. The filet was cooked perfectly. The chicken was outstanding. Presentation was beautiful. The Baked Alaska was one of the best I've had. The food easily earns five stars. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience did not. To make matters worse, after I finished the Dr Pepper that I hadn't originally ordered, my glass sat empty for roughly 45 minutes. No refill was offered, and I eventually had to ask for another beverage while dessert was being served. One final observation... The receipt included an optional surcharge for the back-of-house staff. I understand it could be removed upon request, but I don't believe guests should be placed in the position of deciding how restaurant employees are compensated. Pay your team well, price the menu accordingly, and let guests simply enjoy their meal. Urban Hill has one of the most talented kitchens I've experienced in quite some time. We ordered the polenta with spice sausage, it was HUGE and can be shared with 4 people. 2 of us could not finish it. Additionally for dinner we got the gnocchi which was quite tasty and the steak special which was similar to a skirt steak. The steak was good, my only thing was that I didn't enjoy the seasoning on the potatoes (but those were my tastebuds and yours might like them)! Our server was attentive and informative too about the ingredients. It was a good meal to say goodbye to SLC.

Our server, Ben, was truly exceptional. He took the time to explain every special in detail, made us feel like we were longtime friends, and struck the perfect balance of being attentive without ever hovering. We were dining with our toddler, and he brought over crackers just in case our little one wanted a snack. That level of thoughtfulness speaks volumes. The restaurant had technically closed, but Ben never once made us feel rushed. Instead, he let us relax, enjoy the beautiful patio, and savor every moment of our meal. Genuine hospitality like that is so rare. Everything about our experience was outstanding, from the incredible service to the unforgettable food.
