HUGE and delicious almond croissant! The vietnamese coffee was more on the sweet side. Very nice and friendly staff, good service. No joke they do sell out especially on weekends so get there early! Had a few tables inside and outside, good location in downtown Bellevue.

I been here a couple of times now and I still don't think I can really rate this place properly haha First time I got a regular croissant and it was just ok. It was big though, flavors were good, just not flaky. This time I got an almond Chocolate croissant. This was definitely delicious. Love that it wasn't too sweet as well and the crunch is from the almonds. My only complaint is that there's never much left I when I go, and it's not that late. I came at 930!the second time around and there was barely anything left. People are nice though and the place only have a couple of seatings, it's mostly for takeout which makes sense cause parking sucks. Either street parking or there's a paid parking lot nearby you can use. I feel like I have to come back to try at least one more thing before I am satisfied, but for now, the two items I got was good.

I was reminded today of how much of a difference great service is. While we arrived a little late for some of their pastries, we did find enough of a selection to choose from. But I digress...Royal Bakehouse has ample seating and validated parking in the building. We ordered from a kind and welcoming woman then proceeded to sit down at a semi clean table when she immediately brought over our drinks and insisted that she clean the table before we sat down, then apologized for not having gotten to it sooner. This is someone who views customer service as a craft and if I were only recognizing her, the rating would be off the charts. Pastries were picture perfect and delicious. They lean towards a chewier texture, not overly sweet with subtle flavors that complement not overwhelm. Worth a visit!

We came in around 11:30 on a Monday and they were pretty much sold out of all their bakery. I wish I could have seen more of the options! All the same we got some quiches which were lovely and drinks. The server was very knowledgeable and patient with us as we tried to decide what would be best for my partner to eat after his medical procedures nearby. It wasn't too busy and the seating area was spacious and cozy with lots of windows for nature light.

Every bakery has it's specialty and Royal Bakehouse is the best in Bellevue for their danishes! Sooo light and flaky, with an amazing variety of types, from guava cream cream cheese to a mixed berry with custard. Their almond croissants -- also amazing -- really anything they make that is a variation of the croissant pastry is simply to die for! Love this bakery and I visit them every time I have house guests, as all of my guests have also been in awe of these flaky little treasures Also worthy of note, if you purchase these treats frequently, they do offer a punch card.

I'm always on the hunt for good French bakes and this one popped up on one of my weekend strolls. The place is a bit tucked away, so doesn't gather all the attention. A quaint little French bakery, serving fresh bakes. They have ample seating, good service and fresh bakes. They had a great selection of crossiants - both savory and sweet, quiches and coffee. Ample vegetarian options too, that I loved. I had a savory crossiant and boy, so delicious. The pricing is a bit expensive than normal, but their portion sizes are bigger too, which kind of justifies it. The crossiant was pretty huge!

FYI not much selection if you come late morning. I met a friend here at 10am and there were only four pastries left total and the woman in front of me bought one of them leaving only 3. They have sandwiches and other things you can get made to order but in terms of pastries you definitely gotta get here early! The tomato and pesto croissant was good, as was the quiche Lorraine. London fog was more watery and less sweet than i am used to but it was fine. Other things: -Street parking or a private paid lot next door -Inside was not crowded at all, would be a good quiet place to read or study potentially -Super clean bathroom

I ordered 2 strawberry/blueberry crepes, vanilla steamer, and iced strawberry vietnamese coffee. The crepes were good but once we paid and sat down I was asked to come back up and pay more because the employee didn't charge me enough even though she had me verify my order on the screen and it was all correct. Very weird in my opinion to ask customers to pay more for their mistake that wasn't even properly explained (the order screen was 100% correct when I paid) My 16oz iced strawberry vietnamese coffee was $8 and gross. Had absolutely no strawberry flavor. Any daughter's vanilla steamer was $5 and tasted like just milk. I'm not from the area but frequent a couple times a year and visited this place based on seeming like it had good reviews but I won't be returning again. 2 crepes and 2 smaller sized drinks for almost $50 in a order at the counter style cafe is insane.

Came here to enjoy your sunny day and got a Nutella cruffin (croissant muffin?!?) and a caramel macchiato. Both were delicious, and the cruffin was so fresh and perfectly chewy. The staff was friendly, and there is plenty of seating. I would definitely return! There is street parking out front that I used.

The food was so good and I loved the taste of the food. They also gave us the food so fast and we loved it! we ate so much food that we were so happy and full. I have visited this store for at least 3 times now. Amazing pastries and desserts. I heart all desserts presentation and taste. The pastries are always fresh no matter what time I get it. Most of traditional desserts are too sweet for me, but the desserts here are flavorful and with perfect sweetness. All the desserts remind me the ones I had in Paris! I would say this is by far the best dessert store I have ever been in the US. I am glad that my wife found this bake house in Bellevue. read more

Espresso is so much better than Starbucks. Pastries (not the traditional french style) are generous sized although I ate mine all by myself! I got the Apricot danish and Marionberry cheese danish- (on separate days!). They are baked very well. I think, with good quality ingredients-Hard for me to tell hydrogenated fat from butter. Very clean sitting space. It would have been nice if the music was turned down a little or just better because I couldn't do focused reading. I visited at 8 am on a weekday and 10 am on Sunday. read more

One of my favourite bakeries in Bellevue ! Go-to is the guava strudel, their savoury croissants are also so yummy. My toddler likes the ham and cheese one. I also enjoy their lattes. The owner and people working there are always so lovey and makes me feel at home whenever I'm in the store. This is also the place we go when we want to bring some treats to friends home when visiting. read more

Tried the strawberry croissant and cinnamon roll for breakfast today. The strawberry croissant was pretty good, they topped it with a sugar sprinkle which gave it a nice little crunch. I don't usually see strawberry croissants so it was a nice change from my regular chocolate which I usually get from across the street. My husband had the cinnamon roll which he thought was a little on the sweet side. I liked that the shop was small and not pretentious. Will definitely return for the delicious looking little cakes. Dine in was still closed when I went but it looks like they had 4 or 5 small tables for seating when we can get back to that. read more

this place is cute, and the staff is nice and helpful! the chai latte is delicious, and the croque monsieur is tasty. the lemonade tasted a little funny, and i wasn't a fan of the italian sandwich, but maybe those meats just aren't for me, idk i do want to say that the sandwiches are pretty big, so maybe sharing one with someone else is better than both of you getting your own sandwiches. also each sandwich comes with a salad and a drink of water, coke, diet coke, or sprite--and you can't substitute that drink for a cafe drink, which i thought was awkward, bc then i ended up leaving with four drinks for two people i haven't tried their pastries yet, which is clearly their forte, but i will one day! read more

Went in 2.30pm and there were any pastries or sweet stuff barely left in the store.All they had was savory food in the display case. Upon the server's recommendation, went with Cafe Au Lait(with Oat Milk) and ended up regretting it very much.Too much watered down and Barely tasted any caffeine in there. Completely disappointed with the quality of the drink and the availability of the food options! read more

After moving to the Eastside from Seattle a few years ago, I have been on the hunt for some of the best bakeries nearby! I happened across Royal Bakehouse last weekend and it definitely didn't disappoint! This is truly such a cute little cafe right in the middle of downtown Bellevue with a fairly wide offering for both food and drinks. I stopped by around 10am on Saturday to grab coffee and breakfast and was surprised to see only a few other people there! The atmosphere was really relaxed and the women at the counter was very friendly. I was a it disappointed that there was a pretty small selection of pastries (only five or so options) but they had a few savory and sweet options as well as a larger food menu. My coffee was made quickly and was super delish! I got a 20oz iced Americano with an extra shot of espresso and a veggie quiche and it was like $12 which is very reasonable. Overall, I would definitely come back here again and maybe order something off of the food menu! read more

We discovered Royal Bakehouse on trip to Bellevue in March of 2021. We were so impressed, we made a point to return in July of 2021. Nina, the owner and baker told us she arrives at 3 AM each day, and it shows. Her case is carefully stocked with a selection of fresh baked goods made each morning. Her skill and experience is evident in each bite. Additionally she offers wonderful cafe latte made with Italian coffee. I only wish we had a place like this to go to in our hometown of Dallas. read more

We visited this coffeeshop/bakery today, and let me say it was beyond amazing . Their drink tasted great ( I tried the cold brew) . I also tried the chicken croissant sandwich which it was very tasty and I dont remember if I had anything similar to this anywhere else . Theire pastry section was very huge and fresh . There was a recommendation for Royal Bakehouse so I went only to be disappointed at the cost and quality of the pastries! There was hardly any filling to speak of and the quality was so sub par to Starbucks pastries! That was a big disappointment after spending $30 on 6 pastries! Look at the filling of this chocolate croissant ! I got strawberry and lemon filled and apple turnovers , cinnamon roll and this sad chocolate croissant! I do not recommend going there at all! read more

The mocha that I got was made well with lots of cream on top. The croissant was not flaky but decent and big! I liked sitting outside; not during the week though, as it is loud with construction. Good value for sizing and they do have a loyalty program. read more

I've been coming to this bakery randomly for the last 4 months. They have a good variety of deserts (surprisingly not too sweet!), pastries, stuffed crepes, sandwiches, and of course coffee. You can sit only inside since they don't have tables outside. The owner is a super nice lady, all staff is friendly and can help you with a choice. Also, Royal Bakehouse has stamp card loyalty program (which is a nice bonus anyway). read more

I loved their Strawberry Vietnamese Coffee. I have been back every week for it. The service is great and staff are friendly. The only issue is the construction across the street has made it difficult for access. It should improve once the construction is over. read more

Damn, this place is good. I feel I have found a true gem on the Eastside. I went for coffee and left with two bags of delicious goodies. Everything looked so good I couldn't decide what to get. The overall ambience is nice and there is an outdoor patio with some tables. Ordered a latte and I was not pleased with it, it lacked any foam and was just lukewarm milk on par with generic Starbucks coffee. The pastries were decent and they offered a good variety, not sure if it's noteworthy tho. read more

Background: Ordered chai from a dozen different coffeehouses in Bellevue and downtown Seattle during a 6 day trip. Always ordered it with oat milk. Love croissants. Chai: 5 Stars - Top 2 tastiest chai that we came across, although we asked for a double pump of chai in this one, which made it a little sweeter. Food: 5 Stars - Ordered a ham/cheese and turkey/cheese croissants. Biggest croissants I've seen anywhere and still very tasty. Price: $22 before tip for two 16 oz Chai w/ Oat Milk and two very large croissants. So slightly cheaper than all the other coffeehouses. A lot of them charged $5 for their croissants, but again, the croissants here are a lot bigger. read more

This is my go to spot whenever I feel like my body needs some sugar. Well, let me tell you everything they have on the shelves is a treat and lately I've been treating myself a little too much, but I don't regret it. Their chocolate cake is one of my favorite. It is full of flavor and not overly sweet, which is a perfect combination. The prices are relatively good considering the quality of their pastries are 10 out of 10. I offered the wrong order to be returned but the lady offered back to me the item I ordered and declined politely the wrong item to be returned. I think that is very professional and appropriate. When it comes to drinks, Mercury's has some of my favorite organic coffee beverages. The Caramel Macchiato is my go-to and one of the best drinks on the menu. The café has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to meet up with friends, study, or get some work done. It's easily twice the size of the Redmond or Kirkland locations, so it feels much more spacious and comfortable. My nephew had such a great time coloring at the tables that he didn't want to leave--he just wanted to stay and pick out more snacks! We had such a wonderful experience here. The pastries I tried had the perfect balance in sweetness and flavor! I want to come back to try more pastries, their lattes and drinks! This place is spacious with a lot of tables and chairs. Now it does get busy. So that tells me that their pastries and drinks must be good! The decor here is really nice and it has a chill vibe. I see a lot of people here to hangout with friends and also I see young professionals studying/working on their laptops while enjoying a coffee and pastries. The employees there were very friendly and they recommend a few things for my wife and I to try! I will come back and try some more things!

Last Frontier Coffee opened up about a year or so ago and is located next to the Toyota Michael's…read moredealership. This place used to be the old Tully's Coffee 20+ years ago and more recently Cypress Coffee, which it's closed its doors a couple of years ago. It's a great central location on the eastside, just off of I-90. The interior is modern, well-lit, and spacious. They have board games and plenty of tables for sitting, studying, and working. I would say 90% of people there at around 11am on a weekday had their laptops open and earphones in. The table I sat at could've been wiped off a bit better, but other than that, the bathrooms and interior were clean. Last Frontier features a seasonal menu which this summer includes a Mango Matcha, Blueberry Latte, and Butterfly Iced Tea. Outside of their seasonal menu, their menu is pretty standard, but they use a special coffee brand from Japan which I hope to try maybe in the future. They additionally serve a limited variety of pastries from Macrina Bakery. I ordered a regular ICED MATCHA ($6.75) with oat milk (+0.75). With tax and tip, my order came out to nearly $10, which is pretty steep even these days for a drink. I will say that the matcha had a nice gradient and color to it and that based on the color, they use high quality ceremonial matcha and not the cheap yellowish green matcha that many cafes use. However, it was somewhat watered down and did not have any microfoam at the top, indicating that the ratio of water to matcha was too high. Given that Last Frontier is more of a coffee shop than a matcha shop, this is to be expected. So I will say that while itt's not the best matcha out there, it's also not the worst I've had either; it's passable. Also, the drink came unsweetened by default I guess (which I personally prefer), but just putting it out there for those who are used to having sweetened matcha :) One qualm I have is that they don't have prices on their menu which I think should be transparent to customers. I also don't like how the keypad for tipping is so close to the register and facing flat up that the baristas see exactly how much you are tipping. Furthermore, I'm not a fan of shops who charge more for alternative milk. In my opinion, just because you are lactose intolerant, you shouldn't be charged more, but it seems remain a common cafe practice despite Starbucks removing the extra cost for plant milk from their menu. Overall: 3/5 for drinks, 3/5 for atmosphere, 3/5 for service

Parking ended up being a bit of a walk, which had me second-guessing the decision at first--but I'm glad I stuck with it. The moment I walked in, the space felt thoughtfully designed. The flow of the café is one of the best I've experienced--open, comfortable, and easy to navigate. As soon as the door opened, the barista greeted me right away. The counter is positioned close enough that you don't feel awkward hovering like in some cafés where the bar feels miles away. It immediately felt welcoming. I visited on a weekend during a slower period, but since the café sits right next to a college, I can imagine the line spilling out the door during peak hours. At quieter times though, the layout works well--there's enough space for a couple people to wait without crowding the entrance. I ordered a cortado and an almond croissant. The croissant came warmed, and the texture was spot on: fluffy, layered, and not overly greasy. The almond filling had a really nice balance--nutty with just enough sweetness and a hint of salt to round it out. I was told the pastries are made in-house, and it definitely shows. It tasted like something made with care. The cortado itself was solid--pretty classic, nothing overly fancy. One thoughtful touch I appreciated was that it came with sparkling water, which was great for cleansing the palate. The space itself is fairly spacious and works well if you want a quiet moment to sip your coffee. That said, most of the seating is high stools, so it doesn't really feel like the type of place to settle in and study for hours. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and quality of the food. The one thing that caught me off guard was the price of the croissant at $6.50. It tasted great and I understand prices in this area tend to run higher, especially for house-made pastries--but it's a bit outside what I'd usually spend. So while I definitely think it's good, it might not become a regular stop for me simply due to location and budget. Still, a great find and a pleasant surprise during a routine coffee run.
