    Takoyaki with side salad
    Vanni T.

If you're familiar with my reviews, you'll know that my ratings are based on quality, service, and value. Ru San, situated amongst a sea of pricey sushi joints, is a solid 4, but the service we received from LAN today made it an unequivocal 5 in my book. Takoyaki: a nay if you've had real takoyaki before. It was soft, pale, and doughy. So if that's your thing, the flavor was great, so have at it! Everything else was delicious, although I did miss having tofu in the miso soup (they had vermicelli noodles instead). The flavor was one of the better ones I've had, hands down, but I need that tofu! Portion sizes for the rest of our appetizers and entrees were so satisfying. The fish was fresh, and I loved the creative combinations available on the menu. We had an ice cold Sapporo and cold sake to wash everything down with. Most enjoyable of all was getting to know Lan, who's been with this restaurant for almost TWO DECADES!! Her energy, and shameless enabalism (sp?), made our dinner (celebrating 15 years together woot!) a memorably enriching experience. We'll be walking back to Ru San tn for a few drinks with Lan, and will definitely be revisiting this affordable yet delicious sushi restaurant again in the future. Many thanks, Ru San!

The atmosphere and service were very good. I like that you can sit at the bar and watch them make the food.

    Mixed Vegetables Tempura

I ordered the Spicy Tuna Katsu and a side of egg fried rice which were great. The mixed tempura vegetables were not. It isn't vegetable at all, 80% onion, 20% peppers and onion.

I enjoyed my first time dining experience at Ru San's! I was dining with my coworkers! This is my boss's regular spot! The food was fresh and delicious! The service was top tier! I will for sure visit again!

recently came back to Ru San's and had another fantastic experience. The service was excellent! big thanks to the two chefs (chef Thomas and chef/owner Fujita) and our server(Coco) for being attentive and welcoming. The ambiance was nice and chill, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food. As always, the food was amazing. You can't go wrong with the fresh pieces and the quality they offer at such a reasonable price. It's like having an omakase set, but instead of sitting at the bar, everything is brought right to your table. This time, I ordered a variety of items: toro, ikura, conch, scallop, sweet shrimp, mackerel, Tokyo Rose, egg sampler, and the pumpkin rock roll. Every bite was a delight, showcasing freshness and skill in preparation. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for delicious sushi and a laid-back dining experience. I'll definitely be back again!

I could not remember the name of the sushi roll, but it was indeed amazing. The sushi roll had spicy tuna, baked bbq eel sauce, roe fish eggs and tempura flakes. it was so good and delicious. My friend ordered scallop teriyaki hibachi and that was amazing. It was super fresh and the scallops were huge. My other friend enjoyed her vegetable fried rice and shrimp tempura roll. All of the food was amazing with large portions and the staff was so nice. I can't wait to return to try something different.

We absolutely love this place. Been coming for 20+ years. Thomas and Papa San are amazing sushi maestros. Today we had the Tuna Symphony, Hamachi sashimi, Punk Rock-n-Roll, and various nigrini and tempura. The fish is also fresh and you cannot beat the price for quality.

Dinner set up for 40 people.

Are they still doing their buffet? Just curious

Not to my knowledge. We ate outside at the Buckhead location for lunch 1 day.

What are the hours and days of their lunch buffet?

I normally go during traditional lunch hours, 11:30-1:00, Mon-Fri.

We had the mapo tofu, it was a mild, slow spice. It was good but I wished there was ground pork in the dish as the original would have ground pork. The veggie spring rolls are fine. I think they're not made in house as they are all uniformly shaped. FIsh & sour cabbage soup. We started with this soup, everyone liked it. I grew up with this soup and think it's good except maybe cut down a little on the sourness(?) Soup dumplings. These were nice, the skin's a little thick but it's not Ding Tai Fung, therefore can't complain. The filling was good, the soup inside was sufficient. I wished it came with julienne ginger in the dipping sauce. Bok Choy & shitake mushroom. Everyone in my group loved this dish. The shitake were the fresh ones, not those dried and rehydrated. The sauce was ok, not terribly sweet. Overall a good dish. Yang Chow fried rice had shrimp and small fried pieces of chicken in it. It was pale looking but fragrant and flavorful. No complains there, Sichuan string beans with beef. I personally loved this dish even though it's not the usual with ground pork minus beef. I could've polished this off by myself but had to share with my 5 other friends. Hot & numbing combination. I love this dish, it had a bit of everything (protein), napa cabbage, black fungus, mungbean noodles. It was not too numbing. Inside, the space is very cozy, quiet, and upscale. The bar and dining room area were absolutely gorgeous and we especially loved their glassware and serving ware. The staff was very attentive as well, coming by often to check on us, clean the table between courses, and replenish water. For drinks, I got the Blooming Bokuso-chi which was very strawberry and floral forward and delicious. My friends got the lychee martini which was definitely strong. We loved all their gin-based drinks. For food, we got edamame, scallion pancake, crispy tofu and a croissant with mapo tofu for starters. The edamame was classic, the scallion pancake was SO delicious and the croissant was delightlfully light and fluffy. The mapo tofu was interesting but very similar to a hummus and great to dip our breads in. The crispy tofu took a while to arrive and honestly wasn't the most flavorful so I'd skip. We also got a few rolls: the yellowtail Jalapeno, aburi spicy tuna, black pepper wagyu, and negitoro ikura. All the rolls were great, but the spicy tuna was the fan favorite, with so much herby flavor and an interesting sauce. The wagyu was juicy and the yellowtail had a good kick. The negitoro had roe on top which was a fun texture but I'd try that as a hand roll instead the next time. It was also super fun to brush soy sauce onto all our rolls! We finished out with the espresso martini soft serve, cinnamon mocha cruffin, and the sizzling matcha for dessert. Everything was SO delicious, and we loved the table side experience of the sizzling matcha. Overall, such a wonderful evening, good options for nonsushi eaters, and great pastries! can't wait to go back!
