The initial gentlemen that made a rude comment to my pregnant wife about her energy drink was a total ass. You don't sell those drinks anyway so to act like you won't seat us because she has a drink in hand is absurd. That said the food was okay but the lack of hospitality earned it a lower rating for sure. I'd recommend keeping that guy far away from customers. read more

My girlfriend and I ate breakfast at Ruggies after spending the weekend in the cape. This place is amazing. We each got the 2 egg-toast-kielbasa-waffle combo with a side of Italian sausage. First off the waffles were excellent. Light, fluffy and they were definitely homemade. Also kielbasa... I haven't been to a place that serves kielbasa in a long time and it was a great non-healthy splurge. The coffee, which was much needed, was ground fresh in the filter so it was strong and delicious. Also, try the Italian sausage. Its homemade and some of the best I have had. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the owners. If your brave (and hungry enough) I suggest you try The Duke.... let's just say its a Man vs Food style challenge that neither of us could stomach trying. read more

We came in for breakfast one day not knowing much about the place. We were very happy that we did because it was a great restaurant! Our server, Tiffany, was really helpful and kind and was very attentive. I got the chicken and waffles, which were really good and I definitely recommend. The rest of my family enjoyed their pancakes, eggs, and french toast (respectively) a lot and we all left in a good mood. It was also cool to see the "wall of fame", filled with pictures of people who had completed the "Duke" challenge, which is basically this huge breakfast sandwich. I recommend 100%!! read more

Rude customer service! We had a large family and had to take two tables but the tables were across the whole restaurant. and when we asked to get them closer they were very rude about it. The whole reason why we went there was to try the challenge and when we went to order it they said they don't do it. And when we told them that we drove 30 mins to get there just to do the challenge they walked away with no word. We didn't end up eating there and when we stepped out my family member started getting sick in the parking lot after drinking their coffee. read more

The food is delicious however, THE OWNER IS TERRIBLY RUDE. He didn't care if he was rude to us in front of our kids either. He refused to seat us at a table for 6 because we were a party of 5. However, he had several tables of 4 where there were only 2 people sitting there and when we asked why that was ok he couldn't explain. He even confronted my husband outside on the street when we were leaving and told us that we had to wait until he had a table of 4 available (for our party of 5). ‍ It's really unfortunate because our kids have always looked forward to our breakfasts at Ruggie's when we go for a bike ride on the bike path. Never have I seen an owner be so rude and provide poor customer service on the Cape. We will be spreading the word to everyone about the FANTASTIC service and meal we had at another restaurant called EMBER... only a mile down the road. Extremely busy but probably worth the wait! Ruggie's serves up some of the best breakfast on the cape. They have no frills eggs and bacon type dishes, awesome omelettes and huge stacks of pancakes. I had the smoked omelette and was impressed. It came filled with sausage, ham, onion, mushrooms and smoked provolone. I wasn't hungry for the rest of the day. My lady had a huge stack of French toast with apples and whipped cream. It looked awesome. On the downside, Ruggie's is insanely busy. We were here at the end of October at least a month after the tourists had gone and the place was standing room only. The turnover was pretty fast but nonetheless there was a long wait and by the time we left the crowd had spilled out onto the sidewalk in front of the building. I shudder to think of what this place looks like on a Sunday in August. If you come to Ruggie's you'll have to be patient. You may find that it's well worth it. read more

I pass Ruggie's every day on my way home from work. I am currently on the night shift, and driving by an adorable little breakfast nook on my way home, especially with sparkling christmas lights on the porch, eventually got the better of me and I stopped inside. Since then, I've given Ruggie's a few visits. I was not as thrilled with the breakfast entrees as I thought I would be. French toast is softer than I prefer, and the omelet was neat and dry (whereas I like them messy and juicy). But then I started getting breakfast sandwiches. Next to eggs benedict (which ruggie's does not have), breakfast sandwiches are my favorite breakfast food. and these are amazing. I have been getting "The Ruggie" which comes with italian sausage (sounds delicious, but of course I have to forgo it) and cheese sauce on a hard roll. I thought "cheese sauce" might be some watery velveeta crap, But no, this was a flavorful thick sauce. it made me think of real melted cheddar. The roll wasn't grilled heavily, but I'm sure I could have asked for it well done. Instead I just asked for an extra egg to make up for the missing meat. All I can say (besides "yum," of course) is be sure to eat this bad boy with some extra napkins on the side! the sandwich came with flavorful grilled potatoes, like real big chunks seasoned with garlic. The location is very cute and probably packed in the summer (since I'm going there in the dead of winter, midweek, and still finding lots of tables taken). I don't know if I'd wait around to eat here. I might recommend calling in a takeout order. The service is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. They don't have a microwave (so the waitress said), which tells me that this food is cooked old-school. read more

We couldn't face the thought of another day at the beach (I know, poor me. The weather has been too beautiful.), and decided to go exploring a bit when we happened upon Ruggie's. I'm so glad we did! The place is not much to look at, but the menu is creative and the food is delicious. Ruggie's is.....solid breakfast food but not really anything special. All the food is what I can make at home, but I guess this is the place you go when you're on vacation and don't HAVE a kitchen. The prices are definitely fair for what you get. Inside the decor is clean and cute, I would give them 5 stars for that. If you're in town on vacation, this place is probably perfect for you. My only wish was that they would have some kind of healthy option on their menu like oatmeal or fruit/yogurt but I guess that's the 'California' in me! read more

Again, went here for breakfast one morning and it was the epitome of average. They have all the standard breakfast fair and what we had was decent. We had 4 in our group so we all ordered different things and shared a little of everything with each other. Nothing jumped out as being really great or different from just about any other breakfast place. With so many breakfast spots on the Cape I really can't think of anything remarkable that would make me come back to this one. read more

Went there this morning for take out . first. The portions are wicked small . the pancakes are like rubber . I asked for fresh strawberries on them and they put four slices and charged me for it. Rude customer service. I understand with Covid around you have to make a reservation. I didn't think anything of it until later. We were asked to step outside and make a reservation before they could seat us at an empty restaurant. We didn't make a big deal and did what was told. While dining in someone else walked in and was seated without reservation. I felt like she was being racist because we are colored people. I found it to be really rude. Never ever go to this place.
