SALES REVIEW: Super sales advisor: Jason Ka to seriously consider doing business with! Edmunds referred me to this dealership but I was thinking a big corporate owned chain auto dealer would not be so helpful. I was wrong! Emailed sales rep: Jason Ka the day before about an Edmunds discount certificate, he agreed to honor the certificate and meet me the next day. The dealer location is somewhat difficult to access from Colorado Blvd - they have very limited customer parking and it's hard to tell which side is the Jaguar & Porsche side. Ended up parking in the Jag side and the nice sales folks directed me to the Porsche next door. When we met, Jason was very good at assuring you happiness with a Porsche. Jason tried to find the car I inquired but was being test driven by another client so he got me into the closest optioned Macan base car. Initially I was not very confident about the 2 liter 4 cylinder engine on a sports car because my current 2L Land Rover crossover turbo is pretty laggy. Not so on the Macan - that engine puts out some pep, very little turbo lab and a super grippy hold on the road with good feedback thru the weighted steering. Jason knew immediately when I sat in the car that comfort, ease of entry/exit, and steering feel was important to me. After the test drive, Jason showed me how intricately detailed Porsche was with individualizing their cars. So as a result of his experience, I opted only the options which were important to me: - 14 way power seats for comfort - Lane Change Assist - Porsche Connect - Beige Luxor interior - Climate comfort seats (heat & ventilated/cooling) Due to my neck & back not able to contort very well, the important feature that most other people opt for was the pano roof. I opted NOT to get that moon roof because it cuts into the headspace plus I never have used the moonroof in the past 20 years of cars I have had this option thrown in. Most of the time, sales people will try to "shoe horn" or force you into a car that does not match what the customer wants just to make a quick sale. Not Jason, he wants to make you a super happy client. Making a customer happy is important to him because he knows that an unhappy customer down the line means future lost sales thru bad reviews, negative blog posts, and negative social media. Jason scanned thru his list of cars on the lot as well as cars incoming and could not find the one that I would be happy with. Most of the cars had the panoramic moonroof which most people pay for that option but he knew having that option deleted is best for my headroom. Custom order is the best way to not pay for options I did not want nor get shortchanged on an important feature I wanted. Plus he said he would be glad to apply the Edmunds discount as well as any other incentive he had at the month to a special order Macan which takes 3 months from Germany. My visit to Porsche Pasadena for service of my 911 was an unmitigated disaster. I dropped my car off at 8:30 in the morning for my annual service. I asked the service advisor, Jason Yamasaki, if there was anything beyond the regular oil change that I needed to do. He noted that the car was 8 years old, so he recommended an "8 year service" (turns out there's no such thing if you read official Porsche literature) which included spark plugs and belt changes. I'm new to the area, and I said that I couldn't remember what work had been done on the car in previous services, so I asked him to follow up with my prior dealership (where I had the car serviced for several years) to determine what work had/hadn't been done. I also told him no less than three times that I did not want the car washed. By around 1 pm, I hadn't heard anything from Jason, so I reached out to him. He then responded that the dealership "had just returned his call" (doubtful, I suspect he had yet to call the prior dealership when I pinged him) and said that last year I had just gotten an oil change. Based on that, he continued to recommend the "8 year service" (again, something that does not exist). He asked me if he had my approval to proceed. Instead, I told him that he needed to look beyond just last year, as belts, for example, should be changed at 6 years, meaning it wouldn't make sense to do that work again just 2 years later. I told him to call me to discuss. I never gave him approval for any work. By around 5 pm, I hadn't heard anything from Jason, so I decided to pick up my car and take it somewhere else. I arrived back at the dealership around 5:30 pm, to find Jason fraternizing with other Porsche Pasadena personnel outside. When he saw me, I could tell from the look on his face that he knew he had dropped the ball. We went inside, where I simply told him I was there to pick up my car. He sat at his desk, and after typing for about five minutes, looked up from the monitor and said "so...it looks like we did the oil change." I had never approved any work, so I just looked blankly back at him. He then quickly followed up with "...which we'll write off." I was blown away. How could ANY work be done on my car without my approval? And how was Jason NOT aware of what work had been done on my car by the time I arrived? When they brought the car out front, I also found that they had washed the car, despite my repeated instructions to not do so. I went inside to find Jason and tell him that the car was washed, reminding him that I told him three times in the morning that I did not want the car washed. He claimed that he had "put the tags on the car" to signal that the car should not be washed, but based on my experience with Jason that day, I highly doubt that was the case. Bizarrely, even though they had washed the car (Jason and I both confirmed because there were certain areas where the car still had water dripping from it), there were various smudges and black marks around the car, particularly around the rear bumper. My guess is they washed the car BEFORE they changed the oil, which is just bizarre. All I could tell Jason was "come on, man...," and I left the dealership shaking my head. The next day I called the general manager to let him know what had happened. Instead of returning my call, he had the service manager call me, where I relayed the story. He offered to "try to make it right" by investigating what maintenance had been done at the prior dealership, but I could tell his way of "making it right" would be for them to perform some additional service on the car for possibly a discount. But after my experience, how could I be ok with that dealership ever touching my car again? I'm not stupid, or crazy. On a side note, I highly suspect the service manager has NOT passed this story onto the general manager. I haven't seen incompetence this bad since, well, possibly ever. I will never go near this dealership ever again. read more

This review pertains to the salesperson, Match Wong, only. This is my first review because I am not one to write them, but the experience I had with this gentleman left me with no choice. I understand if people have bad days, but the service I received was borderline insulting. He never introduced the car features so I had to lead the entire conversation. If I did ask about some features, however, he was short and did not say more than two words. For example, when I asked about the differences between the Macan S 2021 vs Macan S 2022, he said it was "about the same." I know for a fact it is not the same. The engine is revamped for the 2022 model. If he was just unaware about the car, that is totally fine. But it was his unfriendly attitude and unwillingness to help that led me to leave this review. He even got in the car himself and waited at the front seat while I looked at the exterior on my own. I didn't even get to look at the trunk for either of the 2 cars I test drove! As soon as the test drive ended, he walked away immediately on his own. He also walked 10 feet ahead at all times. All in all, he did not have any intention of helping. Today after I called Porche main company and complained about them I received two phone calls from them and they offered me to make me an appointment for next month August 16th or take my car to the other dealership.
