My wife and I shared the crab cake app and the wedge salad. Both were very good. The crab cakes were extremely tasty and loaded with crab. We both had steaks and both were cooked perfectly to our requests. The seasoning made the steak flavors perfect. We shared a bottle of wine that Cody helped us select. We went to Ruth's Chris to Steak House today to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. Everyone was super friendly and did outstanding as usual taking care of us. Our waiter Bryan did a great job! Today my wife ordered a 6oz filet. I ordered the 16oz ribeye. We shared the sweet potato casserole. Everything we ordered was fantastic and tasted delicious and full of flavor. Went to Ruth Chris for Happy Hour to kick off wifey's birthday celebration. Sat at the bar loved the fact that there were 4 bartenders working, the space was small but it didn't feel over crowded although every seat was taken. We ordered the Spicy Shrimp and Zucchini Fries, loved both dishes. Shrimp surprisingly wasn't fried which I enjoyed, the sauce had a bit of a kick but was very flavorful. The fries had a good crisp on them and the batter was really good, would have loved for the zucchini to be cooked a bit firmer. This was my first time at this location as we were there celebrating my daughters graduation from grad school. It was about 25 of us sitting in the back side area on the right of the restaurant. It was two big long tables in the area. We had 1 waiter and I guess they sent in backup for him but he was doing a great job on his own. The menu needs to have more seafood choices on it too. I am a seafood lover and my husband is a steak lover, but most ruth and chris usually have more seafood choices. The bread took awhile to come out again, but it eventually came out right before the meals came out. The waiter who came over to help seem to be doing more help in adding extra items to the order than helping to minimize the items which already were more than we needed for our group. When I questioned him he stated they keep ordering food in that area. We were covering the cost of the meal and didn't want to be ordering food that was not going to be eaten. We still ended up having more food then we needed, but we ended up taking it home. Granted we were from out of town. As we were speaking to him he began laughing and we were serious!!! It is our money and it was a serious matter because if there was food left over, he would not be giving us a refund for the leftover food. That would be a NO!! I've heard how good the Ponte Vedra location is & have been wanting to visit. Luckily today hubby & I had a meeting next door & were starving. Perfect time to try it. Surprisingly on a Friday they seated us right away. We always like the Prix Fixe menu which includes a salad or Lobster Bisque, a 6 oz, steak filet, a side & dessert. We had the Lobster Bisque, a Caesar Salad with Anchovies, Garlic mashed potatoes, a 6oz Filet & cheese cake. The portion was just right. TJ took good care of us. Jason the manager stopped by to check on us & was so gracious. Excellent customer service by both. The Ponte Vedra location is smaller than the Jacksonville restaurant, but very nice. Giving 5 stars even though our first round of steaks were drastically overcooked and dry, the replacements were spot on. Our waiter, Colin, quickly came over and took our drink orders. He was very engaging and professional. I opted for the Price Fix menu, which offers an appetizer, entree, side, and dessert. I had the filet and lobster tail, with garlic mashed potatoes and cheese cake. The lobster tail was delicious. The filet was cooked perfectly, and dessert was just right. My husband had the 11 ounce filet with the sweet potato casserole. He loves that dish. My mother in law had the ribeye and a chopped salad. She also enjoyed her dinner. Had reservations for a family holiday dinner with six adults and two young children for 6:00 pm. Was seated at 6:25. Ordered water right after we sat down and it was brought fairly quickly. Didn't see anyone for at least another 15 min. waiting to order. When the food did arrive at approx. 7:20 the meals were cold. One meal was incorrect. This was the "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner. The stuffing was terrible. The cranberries were tart with very little flavor. They were already out of sweet potato casserole and baked potatoes. So basically it was $51 per person for the dinner shown. We thought we'd try a well know restaurant for a nice meal, no cooking, no fuss, no cleanup on our part. It was definitely not worth the price for the food or service. Extremely disappointed. I will never go there again. If steaks are their speciality, stick to that and forget any specialized holiday dinner. They don't know what they're doing. read more

It was sent back and the Filet was replaced with a Filet cooked to perfection and it was actually even bigger than the one sent back. It was excellente'!!!! Sides were excellent. Lobster Mac 'n' Cheese, Creamy Spinach, Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, and Mushrooms. All were excellent and the Lobster Mac 'n' Cheese was to die for. I waited a few weeks to post this but I never heard back from the manager after leaving a message, so here are my thoughts. First, while chain restaurants are not our thing, we do appreciate Ruths Chris for the happy hour at the downtown Jacksonville location. Though the new reservation system for the bar stinks nowadays so we don't go as often. Anyhow, we typically have a large Thanksgiving dinner at home and this year things were going to be different so hubby suggested dining out. We looked around and chose this spot weeks in advance. The Ponte Vedra location. I called multiple times after the plans changed slightly to request a later time only. No change in the party size, just a later time. I was told that was just not possible. Yet, we arrive on time, actually 5 minutes early, to be told they are running behind. Almost 30 minutes or so behind. Needless to say, we were seated almost an hour past our reservation time that could not be altered when requested for over three days. Once seated it took over ten minutes to be acknowledged by a server. I witnessed a server tell a manager all the reasons she didn't want to be there. In the middle of the dining room mind you. And believe it or not, we saw a very similar exchange by another server and the manager while we were there. Our server was nice once she showed up but distracted. The hot bread to start the meal was obviously mistaken with the cold bread left over from another order. The first drink I ordered was not correct. So that took more time. We were famished at this point as no one had eaten all day to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. It was complete chaos the entire meal. The hubby and son did enjoy their steaks. I don't eat meat and could only partake in a few of the side dishes. I was willing to do some fresh seafood but unfortunately they only serve farm raised seafood. Shame on them! We are a local on the coast city. The dessert was decent but the experience was one of the worst we have ever had. Menu is a typical high end steakhouse but beware. It is not up to par. This place is not fine dining. They roll the trash cans out the front door while you are waiting to be seated. Check out Restaurant Medure in the same shopping area for five star service, food, atmosphere and hands down a better experience. You will need reservations but Medure's hands down. We were seated shortly after arriving to our 815 pm reservations. I ordered on the meal that comes with soup/meat/ side etc. the steaks were great. Shrimp was a bit over cooked. The creamed spinach was ok, was mot a huge fan. The potatoes au gratin were also ok. The desserts were great. Both were ok nothing special. Steaks. They were prepared perfectly. The flavor was ahhh. I'm originally from Chicago. Morton's or Chicago Prime offer a much better steak and meal. We got there, with immediate valet on a Saturday, whisked right in to a table that focused on our anniversary, signed by many. Roses all over and the service was impeccable. We knew what we were wanted, filets and salads and sautéed spinach and drinks. Nothing failed us that night - I had nothing to complain about and everyone around us was happy. My wife had the roast/stuffed chicken, she loved it. I had the boneless 16oz. ribeye medium - perfect. We had the sweet potato and creamed spinach sides. - both excellent.
