Menu policy contradicts its mission to improve mental health. In order to read the menu, we were forced to scan a QR code. They do not even have a small amount of paper menus available for those who do not wish to stare at screens while dining. Some of us need a break from technology, even if it's only for an hour. We had not been to this place, but after reading about it, decided to try it. It a small, very clean place with lots of natural lighting. We had the cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, both of which were really well prepared and delicious. We split a Waygu burger which was well prepared and perfectly cooked med/rare. For dessert, we had flourless cacao cake and goji berry cobbler, both of which were gluten-free, warm, and delicious! Out one and only draw back is the price. Everything from the vegan chili sweet potato cauliflower appetizer to the vegan pesto pasta to the vegan pad Thai was loaded with flavor and so may rich veggies! The food is good but I dislike having to scan a QR code to look at a menu. It ruins the vibe and forces everyone at the table to get engaged with their phones. And when I asked for a paper menu, the server said they did not have any. So if you happen to want to dine out without a screen you are out of luck here. Place is super cute ! Decoration is absolutely chick and on point ! I had their cucumber press juice with Gin. It was salty and strong. I was looking for something fresh. I was in the area for a concert with a girlfriend and we decided to pop in here during happy hour. The food was outstanding and full of flavor -- we got the Pad Thai with chicken and the poke bowl. Favorite drink off the cocktail menu was the Cold brew martini - it was to die for in a chilled glass. Service was fine, as it wasn't terribly busy on a Tuesday for happy hour. We've been wanting to try this place for a while & overall it was very good! The hours are a negative for me since they do close their kitchen at 8pm on weekdays. That just makes it harder to fit SŌW into our busy schedule. One of the dishes ordered at our table came without the requested modifications but they did fix this reasonably fast. The food was delicious, I would highly recommend the maple cauliflower appetizer! Lots of options for those with dietary restrictions/ allergies. Overall we will certainly be back! read more

Downloaded Yelp just to write about how negative our experience was here. I have moved to Ohio and had my hometown friends visiting for the weekend. While waiting for our table the bartender asked for our IDs and immediately walked away without telling us why she was taking our IDs. When she returned she was extremely rude and dismissive stating she had to talk to her manager. We are all 24 and recognize she was trying to be on the safe side before serving us, but the way she handled the situation was very uncomfortable. After getting seated we waited 30 minutes without seeing a server. I had to find the hostess and ask if we could have someone stop by our table. The hostess was very nice but it was frustrating to see the rest of the staff display such poor customer service skills. read more

Second time coming here. Ordered the pad thai with chicken again because it was so tasty the last time! Also got the Green House cold pressed juice, which is also good. This place seems to have very good quality, tasty, healthy food. Beware, it IS a pretty pretentious atmosphere and my one complaint is that they don't list all major ingredients on their menu, so make sure you ask. I think that's uncool to not list mushrooms or onions if something contains them. But that's just me. read more

Visited this place with some girlfriends for Sunday brunch. The vibe is very welcoming from the front lobby host down to the service throughout our dine-in. Food was superb! Service, awful. Had a reservation at 6pm and promptly seated. Server didn't see us until 615pm, ordered all of our food at once bc we were unsure when server would return. Food came out quickly, drinks not until after we finished dinner, after kindly reminding server we didn't receive them yet! We politely declined them when they came out at 650pm. No apology or anything for long wait time. I totally understand the industry is understaffed but our server didn't really seem to care about service, just gave us the total and swiped our card. I really wanted to like this place, I believe in its mission. We drove down from Powell to try it out, but don't plan on returning. read more

We were in Columbus for a wedding, and the bride and groom shared SOW was their favorite restaurant, so we decided to go. It was such a wonderful surprise! Its a fantastic and healthy menu, the kind of place where you want to order everything. We had a beautiful array of fresh vegetables and 3 great dips, and shiseido peppers with a spicy aioli. Our entrees were Pad Thai shrimp and a super fresh farrow with salmon. SOW exceeded every expectation!It's warm, welcoming and fun inside, great vibe! Finally, our server had only been there 3 days, and still was fantastic. We had reservations on March 12, 2022 at 5:30. We were quickly seated but then waited 15 minutes for our server to take our drink and appetizer order. Our order for a glass of red wine was served ice cold in a cold wine glass. We questioned the server on why it was served ice cold. He said he also thought it was strange that it was cold. We requested the wine be replaced with the way red wine is supposed to be served. He said he would take care of it. That was the last we saw our server until we requested to pay the bill. We did not receive the replacement wine we requested. He apologized for not attending to our table but said he was slammed and didn't have time. He never checked back with us after our food was served to see if everything was ok. Very disappointed in service. The food was good. Probably will not return! read more

SOW Plated has been near the top of my list of new places I want to try since it opened and man is she a beauty. The space is modern and so gorgeous. After I peeled my wandering eyes from admiring the space, it was time to check out their menu. We got the Wagyu burger and Sustainable white fish. The flavor of the wagyu burger was exceptional. The bun was a little dry. The smoked Gouda stole the show. The sustainable white fish I highly recommend. The fish itself was cooked perfectly, piping hot, crisp exterior with a smooth interior. Ill start with the positive, food is excellent and wonderful to have a place that offers organic, delicious food. We have ordered take put. a few times and everything Ive ordered has exceeded my expectations. Today we went there with a four year old and one year old in tow. So this is the reason for four stars, we asked if we could eat outside, trust me it was to everyones benefit and I was told no, we only seat parties of 4, we had 4 adults and our two youngens.!There was no one on the outside patio, no one! The inside was virtually empty and not one person went out there the whole time we dined inside:There maybe a reason they don't fill the place as it is not user friendly for families, if thats the vibe they want, so be it bit I wont be returning to dine in. If there was three and a half star choice, that would have been it, customer service is equally as important as the food when making a choice where to spend my dining dollars. read more

Vegetarian & Vegan fine dining has arrived in Columbus. SŌW represents an upscale take on the limited vegan and vegetarian options on most menus. Right off the bat, you. Notice the sustainably healthy options reign supreme on the menu. Drinks, small plates, appetizers, all focus on the core tenants of being Sustainable, Organic, and promoting Wellness. What's not directly mentioned is the goal of locally sourcing as much as possible, whenever possible. The space itself is beautiful, and you're drawn to the marquis, it's beautiful and lit, and green and vibrant and...I could go on, but it's just simply cool to see. The layout of the space is full of clean lines and crisp elements. The juices are cold pressed, and this lifelong hater of beets, tried the Beet Drop juice cocktail and it was really, REALLY, good. The cucumber limeade was more my speed, but I'm glad I tried it. The vegan/vegetarian options were the stars, along with a burger made from locally sourced, authentic wagyu beef from Sakura Farms. As great as the experience was, I got concerned when I could hear, who I assume to be the manager discussing with a waitress, his tiredness and frustration with customers having suggestions. His words exactly were: 'I want to tell them do I come to your job and tell you how to do yours?' Apparently it stems from customers asking for an extensive wine list. Now, his points are probably valid, and he's under pressure from a UA location given income levels and tastes. But that's not a conversation to ever have front of house, and especially with customers in earshot. SŌW represents a monumental leap forward in Wellness Cuisine, and I could easily see one in New Albany and other places inside a year. But that type of interaction, although indirect gives me pause that it just wouldn't be fair not to share. Enjoy SŌW, just don't make any suggestions to managers I suppose. This restaurant benefits from having both diverse flavors and a clear vision. They don't sell themselves as being a bargain restaurant or an authentic cultural restaurant. Instead, they formed the menu around a sustainable, clean, healthy aesthetic. Unlike other places targeting a similar image that also sell salads, sandwiches, and bowls, SŌW's items are incredibly flavorful. I also like that half the menu either is vegetarian or leaves meat optional because those items are at an affordable price point relative to the quality of ingredients. I chose to add meat to my Pad Thai, but with meat you must accept that the price is going to be on the high end. If all you want is a chicken pad Thai that tastes good at the lowest price, there is no need to come here and disappoint yourself. With that being said, I really did love the Pad Thai; the way it was seasoned/cooked made the flavor hit the tongue differently than typical versions in a way that I am unqualified to describe. Both appetizers we had (cauliflower, brussels) were also really layered in flavor. The cobbler, in my group's opinion, was just OK. read more

I've been wanting to try this place out ever since I found out about their opening! I love their "healthy" menu that thrives off of "sustainability, organic, and wellness" because as much as I enjoy dining out, I am often skeptical of the ingredients that are being used for the dishes that I eat. As soon as I walked in, i noticed the clean and very green environment that I have yet to encounter in Cbus. Maybe I'm not venturing out enough, but either ways I loved the decor and ambiance that SŌW offered. It was 5pm when we arrived so it wasn't busy yet, leaving it to be not too noisy either. My friend and I started out with a kombucha (peach blossom) and a juice (beet drop) to start with. I love drinking bottled kombucha from the store, but I wasn't the biggest fan of their kombucha. Maybe I'm not experienced enough, but it lacked flavor and wasn't my favorite. The Beet Drop juice had flavor and was refreshing, though I'm not sure if I'd get it again since there's few options for their juices and refreshers. For appetizers, we ordered the blistered shishito because I LOVE shishito peppers and anyplace that offers them! It was served with sriracha aioli which was a nice touch to the flavor that the peppers had. For dinner we chose to share the Poke Bowl and the Sakura Wagyu Burger. Would love to try the vegan burger they have, so maybe next time! The poke bowl had tuna with ginger, edamame, green onions, radish, pickled onion, mushrooms, jalapeños, cucumbers and quinoa. Very colorful and flavorful! The Wagyu burger was super juicy and really tasty. As we cut it in half, you would see the burger juice oozing and I instantly fell in love. The dessert we chose was the yuzu pie. I love yuzu and seeing that it came with coconut whip instantly sold me. The yuzu flavor wasn't overwhelming and paired perfectly with the whip cream and the graham crust. It was just what we needed for our sweet tooth after all the savory! The service was great, our server(s) were knowledgeable and friendly. I'm looking forward to coming back with more individuals who would love this concept of healthier dining! read more

This place has to be the best vegetarian restaurant I've been to. The restaurant itself has beautiful modern decor and soft color unlike alot of other restaurants. You walk in to be greeted very warmly and taken to your seat. The drink selection is phenomenal and you can actually watched you juice being cold pressed. The waiter we had was Tom and his knowledge of the entire process was amazing. He had great recommendations and offered info on items we were interested in. Very friendly and professional without at doubt. The food I can not compare to anything else because they are miles ahead of everyone else. Not the happy hour we had hoped. They claim there is a happy hour but for the second time, we have been denied access to the happy hour prices. The first time we had a table in the "dining" area and it was not extended the happy hour pricing. We thought it was a learning experience. When we returned, we had a reservation for the patio which was supposed to have happy hour prices. When we arrived, we were informed there was a 30 person party and we could not get our seats on the patio. They happily seated us at a table in the bar area. We asked for happy hour pricing and the waitress said no. The manager concurred. We were sitting 5 ft from the bar but were told we were also not allowed to order directly from the bar where happy hour prices were being extended. A party 5 women who would have had drinks and dinner decided to leave the restaurant and go somewhere else. Be aware of this policy before you decide to go to Sow. They were not accommodating even when we had a reservation for the patio that they could not honor. It'll be a while before I return. It used to be one of my favorite places in UA. read more

As a 20-year vegetarian, I am always totally pumped for new veg friendly places in Columbus. Yes, the space is gorgeous. Yes, they have lots of drinks. Yes, lots of food options. Buuuuutttttt... the food was just okay. i've been there twice now and both times the food was a bit bland. Tried veggie burger, pad thai, and TLT, along with kombucha and juice. I got the impression that SOW thinks they are the most novel thing since sliced bread. The women who served me the second time went to great lengths to tell me how good the TLT was... explaining that it was like a BLT but without bacon!! Amazing! Um... yeah... i get the concept and have had it like at 100 other restaurants? She was so excited, so I ordered it and it was as basic (and tiny) as could be. For the price, I expect more from the food. Comune does veg food WAAAY WAAAAY better; more creative, more interesting, and for sure more flavorful. Maybe this space is just meant for more of a mass audience? This was my sense talking to the owner, who seems to want to expand to other locales. Like their fake grass plants, this place has the illusion of being something but really is a facsimile. Still pretty, sort of does the job, but diluted. Will I be back? Probably. It's a good place to take people with a wide variety of tastes. Perhaps I just need to lower my expectations? read more

Highly impressed! My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine's day early last evening at SOW Plated and very much enjoyed it. First of all, the restaurant itself is gorgeous and has a great ambiance. I made the reservation here because of their vegan friendly options, as my boyfriend is vegan. We loved that he had a decent amount of dishes to choose from, which is not always the case when eating out. Our waiter was fabulous and extremely friendly; always very important to the overall experience. I personally ordered the short rib dish and it was wonderful; very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous and the quality of the food was just excellent. There were so many options on the menu that sounded delicious so it was hard to choose, I will for sure be returning to try a few more! read more

A place like this with so many 5-star reviews can only exist in Upper Arlington. The menu is wide ranging from sandwiches, to full plates and brunch options that schizophrenically mirror cuisines from around the world--Thai, Mediterranean, Mexican and etc. If one thing can't be done right, at least have a varied menu that everyone can find something they'd enjoy, right? The Pad Thai was made with a curry sauce reminiscent of Massaman. Rice noodles and bean sprouts do not equate pad thai. But Sow Plated's play on it was ok...just too thick and heavy in the curry (again, not pad thai). My companion got the burrito and it was sad and tiny with little accompaniments but the soy chorizo was pretty tasty. The yuzu pie was the winner of the meal. The space is really bright, beautiful, and comfortable. But, as with everything in Upper Arlington, I found Sow Plated to be overpriced and homogeneous; not particularly inspiring. read more

Only dined here once but it was pretty impressive. Sampled the pesto, pad thai and the waygu burger. All three were very good. The burger, was super tender and the smoked Gouda on top was perfect. The path thai was spicy and perfect. The pesto with the cashew ricotta was very delicious. My main was the market catch (barramundi) which was fabulous. My favorite part of it was the mushrooms. We had looked at SOW Plated in the past when we first moved to Columbus, but had not had the chance to stop in yet. A friend from work grew up in the Upper Arlington/Grandview area recommended this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We scheduled a reservation through OpenTable, arrived maybe 3 minutes late and then waited 20 minutes for water... which was pretty crazy being many of the reviews here mentioned prompt service. Fortunately we ordered quickly and our food was delicious. The pesto pasta was amazing and the pad Thai with chicken was very good, pretty spicy too. I made a reservation for Mother's day brunch 2 months prior to Mother's day this year. I wanted a special experience for my mom and mother-in-law because this is their first Mother's day as grandmothers and my first as a mother. I received an email from the restaurant 4 days before Mother's saying they had overbooked their outdoor patio and that they would have to cancel our reservation. I called the restaurant for further information on the issue and the manager was rude and dismissive, did not take accountability, and did not try and offer a solution. I am sad and disappointed with our experience, and because of the short notice of our cancelled reservations, we cannot find available reservations at other restaurants. read more
