Found our new favorite thai restaurant! We came right as they opened and the place was nice and clean. Our server came to us right away and took care of us throughout our meal. Our food was delicious! We had spring rolls as an appetizer, so refreshing and the peanut sauce was great. I had a thai tea and it was perfect and not overly sweet. I called my regular Thai spot and they were out of Wonton soup, I could have cried. Decided to try this resort inside. The last time I was here it was named Thai Chili. The restaurant changed ownership and became Sabai Thai. There is always a little anxiety when trying a new Thai spot because restaurant and recipes can differ so much. I ordered the dumplings soup and Pad Thai with chicken to go. Got a text that my order was ready about 15 minutes after I ordered. The staff was very friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. Everything was packed well and was piping hot. The soup was filled to the top and the Pad Thai portion filled the to go container. Enough for multiple servings. The soup made me forget about the other Thai restaurant. It was delicious and full of veggies and dumpling. The flavor was so comforting and savory. The Pad Thai had a great smokey, sweet, and savory all in one dish. It was very good. The whole meal was a pleasant surprise and not even that far from my house. Generally never give 5 stars, but my wife said "Best F'n Pad Thai she has ever eaten. So there you go. Also had the basil Summer rolls, which on a very hot day really cooled off the palate. As well as the Pineapple Fried rice, of which I will agree with my wife on. I do wish they were closer to the house for two reasons. The obvious is that we will need to drive a bit of distance to get there, but also the serving sizes are quite large so we ended eating up what could have been shared with others or brought home. WOW, consistently great food. My hubby and I are obsessed with the chicken pad thai, the sauce is ridiculously delicious and comforting. Best pad thai and calamari I've had in my life. Chicken/Veg gyoza is great. Calamari is not rubbery, but thick and easy to chew. Great flavor. Looking forward to trying the wings and other main dishes. We also enjoyed the red curry, I appreciate the selection of vegetables in the curry. BEST thai restauraunt here: Stone Oak/Shavano Park/Helotes areas, hands down. My friend and I tried this restaurant for the first time today. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the sweet and sour lunch special. It contained red & green bell peppers, green onions, cucumbers, pineapple and my choice of pork for my protein. I also selected a level 2 spiciness. It was perfectly stir fried, it had just the right amount of crunchiness. It was very flavorful and perfectly spicy. The special included a choice of salad or Tom yum soup. I chose the soup. It was also very flavorful. We shared the chicken satay as an appetizer. The chicken was slightly overcooked but the peanut sauce and cucumber salad that accompanied the satay were very good. I had coconut ice cream with a strawberry sauce and chopped peanuts sprinkled on top. It was pretty good. Denise was our server and she provided outstanding service. She was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Denise was very friendly and professional as well. I feel she is an asset to this establishment. POOR!!!! DO NOT GO!! I used to frequent Thai Chilli. I was a regular customer Pre-pandemic. I didn't realize that the owners changed until coming on here to leave my Review. I've never been so disappointed in service and quality. I'm sad that I will no longer be returning to this place. My go to order was always the Chicken Pad Thai, served with a small side of rice. They took the rice away and the small soup as an appetizer was mediocre. Lunch special always came with a small savory soup and a salad. This new place makes you choose one or the other. That's fine. The disappointment came with the order of CHICKEN sweet and sour that my husband ordered. The waitress never came back to check on us and we just shared my small portion of lunch pad Thai. By the time she came back we were done and the very sad looking Chicken Sweet and Sour sat. We didn't touch it but to only look for the "chicken" in the dish to which was very little. Had the waitress come back to check on us we would have liked to have ordered more Chicken or something else. We did not feel it was right to pay for a dish we didn't eat. The head waiter man came over and did not help at all. He asked to use my dirty fork so he could sift through the plate and justify the plate. This was so disgusting and appalling. He further said if we didn't pay for that disappointing chickenless plate we didn't eat he was going to call the Police on us!! WHAT!! He didn't try to make it right, he could have done a million things differently to make the situation better but instead he threatened to call the police on us or he said we could just sit there until we paid. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER GO THROUGH SOMETHING LIKE THAT. Humiliated that someone threatened to call the police over thai food. I JUST WANTED PAD THAI for lunch, instead we got an angry heartless man that screamed "Wendy is not going to make any money!" I would have been happy to pay for double protein....but NO... instead I just will never go back and I will ensure every one I know is informed! I'm a working professional and have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. The Thai food was absolutely amazing. My wife had the Salmon, and I had the Pad Thai! The curry that came with the salmon was perfect! The pad Thai was prepared perfectly! Perfect balance of chili spices and flavors! Really really enjoyed the flavors. I felt this was as close to traditional Thai cuisine as you can get! I would give 5 stars; however service was a little slow and our main dish came out a different times. And the one waitress was was doing her best to keep up with 8 tables and working to go orders and playing hostess. She was amazing for juggling as much as she did. Welcome to the neighborhood! We were expecting to have lunch at Thai Chili and when we arrived we noticed a new sign on the building. Since we were craving Thai food we decided to take a chance and try this new restaurant. We were really impressed with the quality of everything we ordered. We started with the Basil roll (rice paper wrapped lettuce, carrots, bean sprouts, noodles, basil, shrimp), this appetizer came with warm peanut sauce which was fantastic. We then moved onto the chicken Pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, pad Kra Pao. The flavors of all of these dishes were incredible. Our only regret is that we did not bring 5 of our friends with us to enjoy this amazing meal considering the size of the servings. We have enough left overs to last a few days.
