A very small inconspicuous restaurant next to the Nuts and Bolts Hardware store. I got in just before they closed on Monday at 8pm. The inside was very basic, clean and only had about 4 tables. The menu had several different Colombian dishes. I went with the empanadas and platano maduro. They only have one kind of empanada which have marinated ground beef and potatoes. The were only $2 each. The came out super hot. Once they cooled down I bit in and loved the texture and the flavor of the meat and potato's mixed well. The show stopper was their green side dip or sauce. It was a lime based sauce with cilantro and just a hint of onion. I poured some of this on the empanada and all I can say is wow. The platano maduro was also very good and a good sized portion. It too was only $2. I can't wait to return so I can try some of their plates. read more

For real Columbian food in the Arlington, Texas, this is the place for you to go. This is a family owned place run by two Older Columbian women. We ordered empanadas and they were delicious. I've haven't had a whole lot of empanadas but these were definitely better than what Ive had before. The salsa that came with the empanadas was also very tasty. It was fresh and one could taste the lemon and citrus flavour in it. We also got the banjeda paisa and that was also very tasty. It was a lot for one person so I would recommend two people to share it if your that kind that has decent sized portions. This place also happens to be a juice center and we went ahead and ordered ourselves some passion fruit and pineapple fruit juice. Both of them were good. With the passion fruit you have the option of getting it with milk and it tastes quite good too. I've never tried Colombian food before, and I'm so glad that I tried it here today! A very small family owned business, with many food and juice options. Empanadas were the main event, and were amazing. Their juices are fresh and unique. Guanabana juice with milk was a surprisingly great choice! I really enjoy Colombian food and I enjoyed drinking the their juices with milk. It was a fairly easy place to find, and upon entering, it was small and hot. It looks a little run down, but that has never stopped me from trying a place. I ordered the guayaba con leche and was thoroughly disappointed with what I got. It didn't taste like guayaba. Instead it tasted like I got papaya juice. It definitely was not fresh and tasted like it was powder that was mixed into the drink. Each sip that I took, you can taste the powder that wasn't mixed well enough. The drink was really off putting and I couldn't even finish it. I've been wanting some Latin food that hits close to home and this place feels just like my mom or grandma would make it. I read a few reviews and I was intrigued. I had never had food from Colombia before, but after reading and looking at pictures, it was very similar to Puerto Rican food back home. The first time I came here I ordered the sancocho. The flavors were great and the serving was pretty big. It came with a side of white rice and avocado. Needless to say, they had me hooked. The second time, I brought a couple of friends and we ended up ordering a couple of bandeja paisa. It was pretty good and made to order. The three times I've been the establishment has only had one person working on two occasions, which will make the service quite slow. Plan ahead and don't be in a hurry. I am a very picky eater especially when it comes to Colombian food, since I am Colombian. Having said that I was skeptical when the man who took my order said that they didn't do bandeja paisa with ground beef and they didn't have sopa de mondongo or pan de yuca. I discovered this place after reading an article on the top 10 places to eat in Arlington. That article was right about THIS restaurant. The food is INCREDIBLE. I tried a variety of foods and everything was delicious. My table kept ordering more and more because everything was so good. I tried asking for the bill after one of our orders but she waited to give us the bill. I thought, "odd, language barrier maybe". But I realize why now.. Food is great but the wait is waaaaaaaaaaay too long. Especially if you're not a Colombian customer. I've called ahead of time and they said it will take 45 minutes to an hour to get my food ready. I called after an hour to let them know I am coming to pick up my order. I arrived at the place and was told to wait another 5 minutes and to just go ahead and pay. I paid and waited 30 more minutes... they never even started my order when I called but started it when I got there. If you are hungry, forget about coming here. If you don't mind waiting a couple hours for your food then this might be alright. read more

Although I like how the locals go there and the lady there speaks Spanish and doesn't speak any English (feels really authentic), but I've found my taste buds are in no particular favor of fried food and lots of carbs. Everything was made on the spot, the arepita was super yummy and trust me when I say this, but the ají that comes with the empanadas is THE BEST I have tried in all 26 states I've been to and eaten Colombian at. This is a very small place, i dont think they have AC, this place is hot all the time. This is the third time that i come in this month and they dont have Empanadas, No arepas. Also they never answer the phone. I get tired calling before i come. And the old women (the owner) attitude is not the best. I am glad that her business is doing good. I decided to give Sabor Latino a try. The negatives start as soon as I opened the door. The place is run down it was about 40 degrees outside and almost the same temperature inside there was no heat at all. If it's winter and you want to eat inside bring a thick coat!!! The menu don't get me started on a the menu. I had a plate of food forgot the name but the prices for their entrees are $15 ouch!! and a cup of juice was $4.50 They only had 3 entrees in their entire menu now that's what you call selection NOT! if you want appetizers they have a million of those. In addition, concerning my juice they were out of most of their selections and for the entree they were out of chorizo. If you want appetizers this place has it if you want to have a selection of entrees forget it. Got my plate of food. the beans were not beans. it had the consistency of soup and couldn't even eat it. the only good thing to say is the other parts of the food was ok. But didn't look appetizing to the eye. The taste was acceptable. I am never going back to this place again i rather drive to Dallas 30 minutes away and try other Colombian restaurants. read more
