A small, unpretentious, and hidden place filled with big Colombian flavors! I'm so glad I found this place in Arlington as I try to search and seek out more diverse and authentic cooking of different cultural cuisines. Even though the owner isn't good with her English, she's nevertheless friendly. A little bit not Spanish helps but not necessary! I ordered the bandeja paisa and it was delicious and flavorful. Just make sure you're not counting calories when you visit. I'm looking forward to try their Colombian-style tamales, arepas, and other goodness in the future. Sabor Latino is one of those rare and hard to find South American treasures in the DFW area. The business is run by two, very nice Colombian ladies. The menu varies from Arepas (a popular Venezuelan food) to All-American chicken wings. The empanadas are Caribbean style and all their South American menu items are served with a cilantro/parsley lime dip which is fantastic! If you are not a fan of oily or fried foods then you should definitely visit here for their fresh juices. Sabor Latino has juices with fruits that you will only find in Latin America/South America. Expect the foods to take some time to be cooked and served - once you get an idea of what's on the menu then call ahead and they'll have your order ready for you when you arrive. It's a small place but the food here is great! I have never had Columbia food! The empanadas are amazing and the papa rellena is what I had the first time I came here and it was full of flavor! This place has a home cook taste to it! They have jugos here with all the tropical flavors and they make them to order! I really had to stop myself from asking the server how they make them! I see that they have a ninja in the back and so do I lol! There is a guy here who seems to be the server and he is very up beat and personable! He gives you suggestions of dishes that are Colombian and they are even better than what is on the menu! This is silly but they don't have a restroom that is visible but that is not a make or break deal. The fact is that food is amazing and they will be sure to serve you when you are full! This place was introduced to my wife and I through a Columbian friend. We started off with empanadas filled with beef and ended out snack with freshly made fruit smoothies. The empanadas were made fresh and the sauce that accompanied the empanadas was delicious. In regards to the smoothie you can either have water or milk as your base followed by your choice of fruit. This place is the coolest hole in the wall! I finally went in person to get some myself. Try the Lulo con leche drink. It's a sweet, unique, addicting treat!! Ever since visiting Medellín, Colombia, I have craved their specialty foods. Sabor Latino has the authenticity that I have been craving!!! My friend from Colombia kept bringing me all this delicious Colombian food. I couldn't believe it was from right here in Arlington! Sorry to say, poor quality food at great prices. I was hoping and willing pay for great latin food flavors. What I got was poor quality meat and everything else prepared right on the the hot iron grill. The beans where well cooked (not hard) however, they were flavorless. How can anyone enjoy this food. I grew up eating Latin food, great tasting and properly prepared food. However, this joint unfortunately does NOT come close to what I consider buenos savores! Small place with a lot heart. I've tried the empanadas which are really good. Empanadas are grease, but the trick here is that amazing chimichurri they give you with them. It's so good it makes you forget the possible heart attack, is that good trust me! I want to go there and try to buy it by the gallon! This a small establishment with lots to offer. The food is just what u would expect from a home cooked Colombian or Venezuelan meal and this is coming from a Dominican guys that grew up in Miami surrounded Venezuelans .. The food is delicious!! My wife is Colombian and she loved it. The place is like a whole in the wake but my mother in law said it was the best ajiaco.

I went to this place pretty much expecting the usual bland tex-mex but instead was pleasantly surprised to enjoy a dish completely different and delicious. aside from this novelty, which only speaks to the authenticity of the place, the service was pleasant and homely as well. I haven't looked for a Colombian restaurant nearby for at least five years. Soap de vegetales was great...perfect. The empanadas were also as good as they get. We ordered jugos de maracuya(passion fruit) which I thought was icier than those served in Colombia, but nonetheless very good. A bowl of soup along side 1/2 avocado and white rice costs $8.00 and well worth my money. If you are looking for comfort or romance, this is definitely not the place to go. Since we went when it was 98 degrees outside, the restaurant was very warm. The dining area has 12 seats while the kitchen is 4 times it's size. The food gets five stars. This place is amazing. The food is delicious, and it's made from scratch. Heads up if you've got a large group because the dining room is tiny, so you might want to get the food to go if that's the case, but it's totally worth it. The employees are also super sweet. I hardly speak any Spanish, and the lady who took my order was wonderful about showing me pictures of the different stuff so I knew what to order. I love this little place. It's unassuming from the outside, but, the food is delicious and made with love. It was my first time having Columbian empanadas but I'm a big fan now. The outside is like a corn version of a hush puppy, light and crispy and the filling is made with potatoes and meat. The green sauce they serve it with is very fresh with green onions, parsley or cilantro and a ton of lime. It helps cut the richness of the empanadas. I also hade the passion fruit juice which was sweet and sour and refreshing. My daughter had the Moro which is blackberry with milk and it was the best blackberry milkshake we ever tasted. The locals helped explain some of the things on the menu I couldn't understand and I also googled words I didn't know. We plan just working our way down the menu until we tried everything. I just wish they could have some more people to work there because it gets so packed and I have seen only 1 lady there cooking!
