I've been coming here to get my Mexican food fix for a couple of years now, so when the stay at home order was issued, I knew I could count on this place to satisfy my carne asada burrito and carne asada fries cravings. My favorite fast food Mexican food joint! The service/workers are always awesome,accurate, and nice. They have never gotten my order wrong. Food comes out good/great however, not always consistent and neither are the salsas. That's why I have to dock 1 Star. Regardless, YES- I would recommend you eat here. I always order the California Burrito and half order of super nachos. What's in the CA burrito: to my knowledge I think it's asada, cheese, french fries, and pico de Gallo (chopped up onions, tomatoes, and cilantro mixture). What's inside the super nachos: fresh Crispy fried chips, choice of meat(I always get asada), beans, cheese, guacamole, pico del gallo (hope I'm not missing anything it's sure is super). Both big portions I always share and sometimes have left overs too! Once in a while I get the super burrito & side of well done french fries (I have to been in the mood) that burrito is huge(see my photo) & pretty standard French fries. I like to dine in as I can enjoy their salsa bar but if you decide to do drive thru I'll be honest -I've been there & it can be a long wait I feel like it's longer then just walking inside to order to go. My biggest complaint atm is, it's after 630am, everything says they're open at 6 and they're not open. And this isn't the first time. Not only that, but often my order is wrong in some way- but only later in the day, on the occasions I can get breakfast, it's usually correct. Having lived in San Diego for a decade, I've been trying to find a comparable Mexican fast food restaurant in OC to satisfy my Pollo Asada Fries appetite. This place has come the closest so far. The Pollo Asada Fries ($8.79) comes with tender pieces of chicken, guacamole, beans, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, and of course, a whole platter of french fries. I always request them to NOT put beans and pico de gallo because those are not usually found on a true pollo asada fries. I also ordered a medium cup of Horchata ($1.89) which does NOT come with refills. I recommend asking for them to pour a straight full cup of horchata and a side cup of ice. When I eat pollo asada fries, I'm expecting fries with a crispy exterior and soft center. The pollo should be cut up into medium sized bits that are tender and flavorful. The guacamole should be more like a sauce than thick and chunky. And the shredded cheese should be melted all over with some amounts half-melted. Sabrosada's version satisfied many of my criteria. My gripes are that there wasn't enough guacamole and cheese poured onto it so by the time you reach the bottom of the portion, you're left with lots of fries. Thankfully, they also have a sauce bar, which they label Mild, Medium, and Spicy. The Horchata was good, but was mild in cinnamon flavor. Also, they charge extra for refills. If you don't have time to eat in store, then I suggest you use their drive-thru, which goes by pretty quickly. Been going here almost weekly for a couple of years. Service started out beyond great but this last weekend visit was horrendous and my family won't be back. The last two times they charged us for avocado salsa and then when got up to the window they would let us know "we don't have any bowls of it so we will give you little ones that should add up to two 1/2 pints that you ordered". Well, last week they mixed In about a third of that with salsa verde. I thought it was a mistake. This time I had it happen again only this time I only had a couple avocado salsa and the rest were all verde. On top of that I ordered two ADDITIONAL sides of guacamole that were charged along with the salsa on my receipt but I only received one. I got home and saw I was missing to guacamoles and all the verde. I call them and give them my ticket number and explain everything, the woman who answered the phone was polite however she held the phone and did not put it on hold while discussing it with the rest of the crew and that's when I heard the other woman, who is usually amazing, calling me a liar multiple times. The polite woman gets back on the line and I pretend I heard nothing and that's when she said no it was a mistake and it was given. I explained that only one of four guacamole was given and yes salsa was given but the wrong kind. She said well we're you charged for it even? I explained that she pulled up my receipt and it clearly says it. Well, they wanted me to drive all the way back that night to just pick up some guacamole. I explained that I could not and could I just be refunded the difference of the incorrect. Nope. Have to go in person to just receive a credit for their location. Needless to say, go to the other locations. They are basically charging and ripping you off and giving what they want and then calling you a liar. Good enough for two to share. The house salsa is flavorful and not too spicy. The other items I like are the super fries topped with carne asada, onions, cheese, and guacamole.
