Lobster pasta the daily special
Leah M.

This place is absolutely amazing! The food is fantastic and so flavorful! I love the pastas they are all homemade but the specials also do not disappoint. The service is always top notch. Tonight we had Tj and he was so friendly and made great recommendations. The ambiance is beautiful and such a relaxing atmosphere.

Very good experience here! Came here with a few girlfriends and we were all pretty satisfied. I'd visited a few times before, but it seems like they've changed the inside. It looks even better now; plenty of space, and everything was nice and clean. They also had live music! But I believe that ends around 8:30/9pm. They had a special "Girls' Night Out" menu with discounted cocktails and food specials. We ordered the Pear Elderflower Martini and Black Widow for drinks, and both were very flavorful. For food, my friends ordered the Lobster Stuffed Shrimp for a starter. They were not satisfied as the lobster was not what they were expecting. It seemed more like a stuffing mixture with small lobster bits in it. They sent it back. Everything else was great though!! Our entrees were the Prime Burger, Raviolo & Lobster, and Oak Grilled Scottish Salmon. All of them were delicious! Really no notes left for any of the entrees. Our waiter (also the bartender) was amazing and very quick. Overall, I'd love to come back. (:

After much research, I selected The Sacred Pepper to celebrate 3 milestone family birthdays. We had never been before, but the menu seemed to cater to each of our particular tastes. We were happily surprised by the elegant exterior, and upon entering, we were absolutely enamored by the swanky, sophisticated, warm, well-appointed, but super comfortable dining room. We were seated at a prime table that felt both central but private and immediately began vibing to the perfectly pitched ambient jazz. We began our meal with deliciously smooth glasses of Bonanza Cabernet by Caymus and the Mediterranean Goat Cheese and Shishito Pepper appetizers. The goat cheese was perfectly creamy and tart, balanced by a rich tomato sauce studded by olives and onions and served with warm, fresh flatbread. The Shishito Peppers were fried tempura-style and accompanied by a sweet teriyaki sauce that complimented the heat of the peppers. They were light, crispy, flavorful and yummily addictive!!! For our entrees, we ordered the Sea Bass, Ribeye, Grouper Piccata and Sicilian Chicken. I will not detail each (pics pf each included) but can attest to each having truly delighted us!! I will focus my review on the Sea Bass which is the dish I ordered. The fish was delicate, flaky, subtly seasoned but perfectly cooked. I was particularly delighted by the seared rice cake, as a Puerto Rican person it reminded me of the best kind of 'pegao'..toasty outside and grainy soft middle. The dish was satisfying and delicious...a bit more seasoning on the fish would have suited my personal taste but I can see it being perfect to others. The evening was capped by the sweetest complementary chocolate lava cakes and fresh whip for our birthday crew. Our attendants were delightful, so attentive and did all they could to make our birthday crew feel special! The Sacred Pepper is an absolute Tampa gem!!!! I highly recommend this beautiful experience for any and all occasions!!

This place is always delicious with excellent service. I had the short rib pasta and a house salad with red wine. The atmosphere is pleasant and they have live music which is very enjoyable. Love this place!

I cannot say enough good things about The Sacred Pepper - it was so much better than I could have ever expected for our business meeting! From the moment we arrived, the service was incredible - attentive, warm, and professional. They seated us in the most perfect spot with just the right amount of privacy and quiet, which made it easy to talk and focus. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. The Berry Ginger Smash mocktail was refreshing and delicious, the crème brûlée was absolutely divine, and the cookies and espresso were the perfect finish. The homemade pasta was excellent, and the lobster-stuffed shrimp were truly next level. 10/10 experience. I'll definitely be back!

We went to celebrate a birthday and we had a great time. The restaurant was very nice and they had live music which was really nice. Our waitress Maddie was amazing and helped us pick out options from the menu. We ordered various entrees and appetizers and loved them. Food was great!

What a dining experience. Solo date. I tried a little bit of everything. Samson my waiter was very attentive, accommodating, and personable. The decor, ambiance and location are all superb. I loved that they had live entertainment. Appetizers: Oysters 7/10 these reminded me of potato skins I know it sounds weird but that's the flavor profile. I do feel they were a little small in size. Stuffed lobster shrimp 8/10 it's like eating a crabcake, Lobster and shrimp all at once. Everything was fresh and paired well together. You get 4 and that enough to share or enjoy alone. Dinner: Lobster ravioli 11/10 if you like pasta, and Lobster bisque this item is for you. The ricotta cheese stuffed pasta with fresh perfecting cooked Lobster swimming in a warm rich creamy broth. This was quite remarkable Rack of lamb w/ Brussel sprouts. 9/10 I love Brussel sprouts and these were seasoned well and the cook on the lamb was perfect. Dessert: Limincello butter cake 11/10 Warm, moist decadent cake oozing with a rich cream and bursting with lemon flavor accompanied by fresh fruit. Just trust me and order this! I can't wait to come back when I'm in town.

This may be one of my favorite restaurants in this area. The live music was a great touch, the service was amazing, and the food was delicious. I had the oysters Rockefeller and they were so good. My rib eye was a good cut of meat and cooked to perfection. The drinks were mixed well and did the job also. I have nothing but great things to say about my visit here.

Great ambiance and great customer service. The venue is very beautifully decorated. The food was just decent we got the oyster Rockefeller, pesto pasta, ribeye steak with parmesan crust, and drinks. All items required us to add salt and pepper, but I was very pleased with the mac n cheese and the citrus margarita.

Staff was excellent and attentive to the party I attended. The food was good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I want very hungry so I ordered 2 appetizers and a cocktail. Over all experience was very nice. Will come back to try other menu items.

We were at Sacred Pepper to celebrate a "big" birthday! Excellent choice! Many incredibly innovative dishes, creative cocktails, a great wine selection and over the top service. For a starter, Oysters Rockefeller. Just the right combination of juicy oyster, spinach and bacon generously topped with parm. Cocktails of smoked Old Fashion and the Little Miss Beauregarde blueberry, lemon, herbal with lavender Vodka. Generous pours. Perfect combinations of flavors. Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb was amazingly moist with a great light char. Bonus with a wonderful cassoulet. Perfectly paired with a glass of the Orin Swift 8 Years. The absolute star was the Raviolo & Lobster. This isn't your standard Lobster Ravioli. Picture a tube about four inches wide and four inches high made of squares of pasta (cooked to al dente perfection). Then fill the tube with big pieces of lobster and pour in a delicious home made light tomato cream lobster sauce. Yep! Pretty amazing! The oven roasted caramelized Brussel Sprouts with bacon and balsamic glaze was a very good match for both of our entrees. Could not leave without a spectacular dessert, Summer Budino. Made with lady fingers around a ramakin filled with orange flavored custard, with a layer of raspberry compote and topped with freshly whipped cream! The chairs were the most comfortable that I've ever sat in at a dinner table. The tables seemed to be a little lower than usual, but another fantastic addition to the overall experience. I have to mention our server Aiden. Professional, polite and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu. There wasn't a question that he could not answer. He seemed to always be there before we needed him. Water glasses were always filled, but I never noticed him filling the glasses. He really was the key factor in pushing this dining experience way over the top!

We had such a great experience at Sacred Pepper! We grabbed seats at the bar around 5pm and the atmosphere was perfect! Lively but still relaxed, with a stylish and welcoming vibe. To start, we shared the pistachio-crusted brie and shishito peppers (both were amazing). The brie was creamy and flavorful with the perfect crunch from the pistachios, and the peppers had just the right amount of char and heat. For dinner, we tried the Malfadine with shrimp and the deluxe mixed grill. Both were absolutely delicious. The pasta was rich and savory with perfectly cooked shrimp, and the mixed grill had a great variety and was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Overall friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed. We had a fantastic dining experience and will definitely be back!

Sacred Pepper has live music which was nice, because the food wasn't giving much to talk about. The menu was underwhelming, and my salmon was so bland it could've been seasoned with a whisper. Average at best.

Yes sacred pepper has a happy hour reduced prices on draft beer wine and some alcohol. Just be prepared this is a very very loud restaurant and the music is so loud and live you can hardly hear the person sitting next to you

I enjoyed sipping on it throughout the meal, and it was the perfect drink to warm me up. For food, we ordered the golden beet salad, the black bean sauce mushrooms, yakitori, sea bass collar, and the lamb vindaloo pappardelle. We also ordered the olive oil cake for our dessert. My ranking - yakitori: divine! the use of the jammy egg yolk as a sauce was creative and well-executed. The chicken was also expertly grilled and juicy. Even the lemon with the seasoning added great acidity and spice to the dish. loved it! - sea bass collar: this was delicious and a fun experience. We really appreciated we could eat with our hands, and the wet towelette to clean our hands after we were done. I love a nuoc cham sauce, and it goes great with fried fish. I thought also four pieces of collar was a sizeable portion to split with two people. - olive oil cake: scrumptious and light yet so satisfying, definitely hit our dessert crave. No notes. - golden beets: the beets are nice and sweet, followed by the gooseberries in here which add a tartness, but the ricotta mellows out the flavors and adds richness and creaminess. The bread for dipping is also quite nice. - pappardelle: wish this was a bit more saucey as the noodles were quite thick and layered. The spices of vindaloo were there, but the flavors didn't penetrate through to the pappardelle noodles. - mushrooms: my friend really liked this dish, so it's all personal preference of course. I thought the black bean sauce was a bit glued to the bottom, almost too pastey. It didn't incorporate with all of the mushrooms, so the ones at the top didn't have as much flavor as those on the bottom. I think the paste could have used some loosening with some liquid, although that might forgo some of the mushroom crispiness. Towards the end, the sauce was just too overpowering so I couldn't find myself reaching for it. Service was wonderful. We were checked on multiple times, and when we got up to go to the restroom, the staff would come over and fold our napkins back on the table for us. I found prices to be super reasonable for what we got. A must-go if you're in the tampa area!

The staff, and especially our server Dani B were wonderful and very accommodating. We ordered appetizers off of the new menu to start with and a few cocktails. The pimento croquettes with bacon jam. were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. We also ordered the focaccia bread with black garlic whipped ricotta. It was a crowdpleaser for sure. Everybody loved it. Our only slight complaint/suggestion was the portion size of the pimento croquettes. We had a party of five at the table, and the appetizer was only four croquettes. Would have been nice if everybody could have one without having to split them for everybody at the table to have one. It would be nice at the time of ordering appetizers for them to let us know how many came on the plate maybe even offer a slight up charge to add a fifth one or sixth one depending on the size of the party at the table. But that was the only minor disappointment. They were still one of the best appetizers we've had in a while! Everybody decided on the burgers for their meal. A couple ordered the Boujie burger, and the others the lampshade Smashburger with bacon. Hands down one of the best burgers we've had in a while top-notch absolutely delicious. **A Disappointing Anniversary Dinner at Elliot Aster, Not the Michelin Level Experience We…read moreExpected** We visited Elliot Aster at The Vinoy last night to celebrate our anniversary, and while a few thoughtful touches stood out, the overall experience fell well short of what a restaurant with Michelin aspirations, and a $300 price tag, should deliver. I want to preface this by saying we are easygoing, forgiving people who rarely complain, so it takes a lot for us to leave a review like this. I was especially excited going in after reading the chef's bio, which references Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons. I dined there back in the late 90s, and it remains one of the best meals of my life, right up there with dinner at Alain Ducasse in NYC. That pedigree set my expectations high, though not unrealistic ones. Unfortunately, the execution at Elliot Aster did not come close to living up to that lineage. **The good:** The team acknowledged our anniversary with a card at the table and a glass of champagne with dessert. The filet was cooked perfectly, the gnocchi was well done, and dessert was excellent. **The not so good:** Nearly everything else. Getting to the restaurant itself was confusing. There was no valet greeting, no doorman, and no signage in the lobby pointing us to Elliot Aster, so we had to ask the front desk for directions. Once seated, service was disorganized from start to finish. We ordered cocktails while waiting for our table, and they took 45 minutes to arrive, after multiple follow ups and having to close out a bar tab before the drinks even showed up. My martini arrived nothing like the version advertised (one plain olive instead of the three blue cheese stuffed olives pictured on their own Instagram). Later, at the bar, a port and a beer sat forgotten for 20+ minutes before our server realized he had never brought them over. Our entrees also arrived before we had finished our cocktails, which felt rushed rather than paced for a fine dining experience. The octopus starter was well seared but the flavor combination felt scattered, and the truffle sauce on my filet had almost no truffle flavor, especially disappointing given the chef's pedigree. One small but telling detail: the decorative olive trees hanging over our table were visibly dusty, which was distracting and not something you want to notice at a white tablecloth dinner. No server mentioned a signature dish, made a recommendation, or referenced a sommelier. We never saw one on the floor. I also want to mention the dress code, or lack thereof. We understand we are in Florida, and a laid back approach makes sense here. But asking guests not to wear shorts or t-shirts does not seem unreasonable for a restaurant at this level. Gym clothes, which we saw on more than one guest, is simply not acceptable at this tier of dining. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I understand things go wrong, but this was a long list of avoidable missteps, not one off bad luck. Given the chef's background and the promise it suggested, this was a real letdown. The bar itself is gorgeous, and we had genuinely hoped this would become a regular spot for us, especially given the lounge menu. We were hoping for something reminiscent of La Belle Vie in Minneapolis, a place that held a special spot in our hearts. Unfortunately, based on this visit, we cannot recommend Elliot Aster or The Vinoy.

For my drink, I took the chocolate old fashioned (13 dollars). It was strong enough and chocolatly to enjoy. For my main plate, I chose the chicken wings (10 for 17 dollars), half fat rabbit sauce (quite garlicky) and other half siracha. While the wings were not breaded, they were still fried. It was definitely crispy, but still meaty and tender. The sauces were flavorful, and the siracha had the right amount of heat. The ranch dressing was homemade and so good, I ended up drinking it. There could have been more celery, but it was fresh and crispy. They only had one dessert, and unfortunately it wasn't homemade, so I passed. My bartender was friendly, but busy. She had a helper, but lots of patrons to serve. Yet, she was still very nice and helpful when needed. The vibe is social and casual. I would have thought they would have more USF students, but mostly locals who are enjoying a good atmosphere. Outdoor seating is available as well, and it looks like you can bring your pooch too. When it was time to check out and pay, I noticed they forgot to charge me for my drink. When I mentioned that, they told me not to worry about it. It was a very nice gesture from them. Parking here is easy as it is located in the Publix complex. There is also a Don Julio's and Bundt Cakes nearby for dessert too. The Fat Rabbit pub provides great casual bar food in a social atmosphere. The indoor dining is large enough to feel comfortable, and outdoor seating is also there if you want to enjoy with your dog.
