Used to love going here on a Friday night and sitting in bar area listening to music. Usually have to get there early but even that doesn't matter anymore bc bar and table reserved . We've been told a number of times bar area is first come. My daughter met some friends a few months ago and it was a full band. They couldn't even talk to each other. I was very much looking forward to dining at the Sacred Pepper. I was invited with a group of friends, 10 of us total. While the servers were very polite and nice (2 of them assigned to our table), their lack of communication with each other threw off the service for the entire dinner. Our Drinks took forever to be served, cocktails from the bar and even sodas, teas. After the drinks were delivered, we kept looking for our servers to place an appetizer order for the table. 20 minutes pass and no one has checked back with us. Hmmm. We really start to get concerned, and hungry. Then, all of a sudden an appetizer of calamari is delivered to the opposite end of the table! When did that order get placed? And why didn't the server asked the entire table if anyone else wanted to order appetizers? We were miffed! A few of us shared the calamari, super salty breading. Well, at this point we blow off ordering something and just decide to give him our dinner order, since he's there finally. While ordering we heard someone at the end say their getting the evening special. We asked the server, about the special. He acted like we should have already known it. They only provided 1 special menu for a long table of 10, and both servers assumed the other server told us the specials. Ugh. So much spinning in circles! It was such a mission to get a drink, order an app, hear a special, order dinner. I had the Honey Truffled Pan Fried Chicken. It sounds fancy, but basically it's a big chicken breast pounded flat, breaded, fried and drizzled with honey. It was tasty. But I honestly wished I had gotten something else. This just didn't have the "wow factor" I was expecting. Yukon mashed potatoes were good. The entire entree was so salty. I only ate 1/4 of it. I drank 3 waters there and lots of water the rest of the evening after leaving! Strange, that the kitchen would be so heavy handed with the salt. The lady next to me got the steak filet and crab rotelli. She raved about it the entire meal and cleaned her plate. Another has the shrimp Diablo specials and said it was delicious. Plates were cleared away and a server asked if we wanted coffee or desserts.... upon handing 1 dessert menu for a table of 10 to pass around a share. I gave up at this point and said no. (Why not hand out 3-4 menus for ppl to share? So much more efficient.). I'm not in a rush to return. Especially with a large group. This is a good date place. Very pretty and nice. Very impressive South Beach decor and ambience which is very inviting. Friendly servers await. the salmon was perfectly cooked and quite tasty. The pasta Bolognese was delicious with the right amount of heat. Next time I must try the shrimp Fra Diavolo. Unfortunately the chicken masala was very disappointing. Rather than chicken pounded thin and sautéed, this chicken was thick and grilled. The masala sauce could have benefited from some roasted garlic. Their recipe for the meat balls as placed on their flat bread was quite unusual. It was so soft and mushy like a tasteless pate. Disappointing. On a very positive note, the highlight of the dinner was their home made ice-cream/sunday. However we do look forward to trying some of their other items on their menu. read more

This is so sad to say, we have loved this place. The last 3 times we have been there has been very disappointing. The food is pretty good, but it is the noise level that is completely intolerable. The restaurant is too small for all the loud music. You can't hear the person across from you. Last night was Ladies Night. It was horrible. We have gone to the tasting in the private room and the noise level was horrible. Our waitress had lost her voice from having to speak so loud. We ordered the meatballs and a pizzette and a drink. The meatball was tasteless and the noise was too much for us. BTW we are in our 30's so it's not as though we don't generally like it. It was a special occasion, with a reservation, they sat us at a high top at the bar. I'm so sorry, but if you want a quiet dinner (and they used to do this) don't go there. We asked for a manager, he leaned on our table and acted like he was our friend. (looked about 19) said he would take a look at our bill because we wanted to leave and didn't take anymore than a bite of our food. The waiter, who was great came back and they would not give us a credit. We will not be back there or recommend this place again. They used to be soooo good. Very sad read more

My first time at this restaurant...if you're looking for an eclectic atmosphere with delicious food, this is the place! The service was quick and attentive. Our waiter took his time to explain the the menu in great detail. Their food was delicious and apparently priced. Their speciality cocktails were creative and tasty. The food here is beyond outstanding. It's made with care and you can actually taste it. Sacred Pepper is great for a special night: Birthday, Anniversary, etc. That being said, we have tried to go on nights for just a "night out" and - no fault of the restaurant - we felt too casual, older, and out of place. Hello on 12-17-22 my experience was not good! I was with my wife celebrating our Anniversary. We have being there about 4 or 5 times previously. Yesterday it was not great like previous occasions. We were sat in the half booth area towards the left front area. The tables were crammed together. The noise level was almost like a Bingo hall without the guy with a loud speaker calling out the winning numbers. We had to move our table side ways to have a simple conversation to order. Listen I'm no complainer but ; some change must happen. Otherwise this place will be like Applebees with a band guy. It can be considered a lounge with the noise level. I won't be going there for any special occasion. I feel terrible posting my experience , but that was my Anniversary ; which was special to us. To experience the outrageous amount of noise in a nice restaurant that's not cheap. I would expect equivalent noise levels at a Beef O Brady. The food, service and ambiance is great. If you go with someone; prepare yourself to do a lot of yelling to have a conversation or you can text each other back and forth. I hope management reads this review and take action with a noise DBS meter. Otherwise the word will get out and the place will go downhill. I've seen other noise complaints reviews. Be proactive and take action. Years ago I was a DJ in NYC and graduated from school Audio Engineering. Fix the noise issue. Hire an Audio Engineer or consultant to assist you. read more

Impression when you first walk in, wow! Crystal chandeliers everywhere live music just beautiful when you walk in and fancy. We started with a few shareable plates shishito peppers, blackened tenderloin steak, and crab cakes. The shishito pepper are floured fried peppers with a soy sauce. I was skeptical about biting into a pepper but it was delicious it has an spicey after taste. Blackened tenderloin are served with a piece of fried cheese and a sauce that was amazing definitely recommend it. For the crab cake its 2 cakes the size of an ice cream scoop each and they are the best cakes I've had. For my entree I decided to go with the shalean sea bass served with veggies (broccoli and carrots) the sea bass was covered in a lightly sweet sauce Our waitress Melissa was very knowledgeable and sweet had me sold on everything she recommended which was the sea bass and the special drink watermelon martini which by the way was refreshing. What impressed me was that we we given a complimentary chocolate raspberry lava with ice cream with a thank you signature for being first time guests. That was cute. Definitely going back read more

Went there last night for a date. All in all we will definitely go back. The decor is beautiful inside and out. The ambience is really unmatched. I ordered a tall and sexy drink and my husband had the black widow. Both drinks were well prepared and the drink menu was very creative. For appetizers we ordered the sacred meatballs and the crab cakes. The meatballs are a mixture of veal and pork. I don't like veal but my husband really loves them. The crab cakes were delicious! For an entree I had a seasonal item which was the lobster stuffed ravioli and hubby had the shrimp fra diavalo. Both were delicious and the service was good as well. Also there was a live singer and she was GREAT. the volume was good and not too loud. My only sorta complaint is that the food wasn't really hot. (Temp hot) not a deterrent tho. My family brought me here to celebrate my birthday (I won't say which one) because I've been trying to get dinner here for quite some time now but we've always waited till the last minute to make a reservation and our procrastination failed us each time. But my husband called on a Sunday to reserve a table for 6 the following Wednesday... thankfully we got the reservation. We arrived on time, we were seated immediately at a lovely round top table booth. Our waitress greeted us and she began with asking if we were celebrating or just dining. She also asked if anyone in our party had any food allergies. Once I told her "gluten " she explained that anything on the menu can be modified to make my meal safe. That statement alone says that everything is made fresh and prepared upon order (I could be wrong but I doubt it). The menu is also labeled GF which of course I greatly appreciated. We started with two appetizers, jumbo shrimp cocktail and sweet potato tots, two thumbs way up for both. They also bring fresh bread with some sort of olive oil tomato dipping sauce, I didn't have any but my dining companions ate it up. I had the grouper with lemon sauce and mashed cauliflower. It was fantastic and the portion size was perfect, not to much and not microscopic. Family and friends ordered, filet, cheese ravioli, shrimp kabobs and salmon. Everyone was very pleased with their choices. Sense we were here to celebrate my birthday I was given the crème brûlée complements of the chef... it was phenomenal and plenty enough to share. In addition to the delicious food the staff here is very friendly, efficient and incredibly professional. I'm sure we will be back to celebrate Christmas with our annual dinner party group this year because it's my family's year to pick the spot. read more
